@JayEllul @ivanriverajr5012 @mikesbigtank6015 does it make you feel like big men, making fun of a woman who is living her life while doing nothing to you, or are you just sad that you're too weak to come even close to her accomplishments, so you have to pretend like she's beneath you in some way? I mean, either way, don't let me stop you from embarrassing yourselves, at least I get a laugh at watching you lower yourselves. 😊

Watching this channel has really changed my approach to lifting on a fundamental level. Just went through a leg session of yours myself, think ima need a wheelchair for the next two days. This right here is both superb content and a peak educational experience
Love this channel. I've learned a lot, and I love these videos where you guys have guests and make them scream, lay down, throw up, etc. Master perturbators. High quality shit. Question: can you make a playlist of these "we torture our friends" videos? I like watching them for motivation for my own workouts.
thanks for the heads up on the elevated heel squat. I've used dumbells (held to chest) and barbells and always felt more quad activation with dumbbells, but didn't know why. Now I realize that with the dumbbells I typically have my chest up and forward, and with barbells I"m doing too much weight and involving other muscles. Def going to lower the weight and do it right next time. THX.
Also with a dumbbell since you are using a weight that is limited by what you can hold with your arms, and the fact you can simply dump-it, you can focus on using your quads to move the weight. With a barbell there is a fear of getting stuck at the bottom, so we typically are thinking, just get the sh$t up. So, when you remove the physiological fear of squatting, you are able to focus on just using your quads to focus on moving the weight.
Try slant board front squats. Your back will stay totally upright. Your a$$ will hit your shoes. You can get an intense quad stretch at the bottom. Most people never fully stretch their quads under load!
Started hypertrophy for the first time recently and started doing Mike's slow bodyweight squat. My quads look awesome, but they hate you. Squats, leg press, and pain. Thanks, Dr. Mike!
6 sets, just 6 sets, but each set is made by hard work and solid execution, love it, and Congratulation to Jane for being the Pro, you deserve it. As always, lambo is on the way.
Dr Mike, could you please one day talk about the barbell hack squat? I´ve seen videos about it and tried a couple times and they feel good, but I´d like to know your opinion, thanks ("Why don´t you just use the hack squat machine?" Well, for people who wants the benefits of the hack squat machine but don´t have access to one)
I might do that one day! For now, it's really a deadlift that is limited by your grip or your arm length vs. torso leverages. Def do not recommend. - Dr. Mike
You can replicate it using a smith machine. Geoffrey Verity Schofield has some good info on it. Set up your stance such that in the bottom, it looks just like a hack squat. At the top, it may look and feel weird with your legs out in front of you.
@@domepiece11 Thank you... I don´t have a Smith Machine though.. I workout at home, I have barbell and dumbells with enough plates, rack squat, bench, cable machine, bands... but I struggle to replicate the hack squat, that is why I was interesting on the barbell hack squat
Hey dr. Mike, I have the same hack squat machine at my gym and I love it but every time I go close to failure I get these intense exertion headaches which put me off of training for at least a few days. Do you maybe have any tips to prevent this or should I just not do the exercise? Thanks! (btw: I use the slow strict deep pause style)
I hope he answers, this is a story of my life when it comes to any squat like movements. So, even worse, it's not just this machine for me(regardless of the "weight" I use)
I also had this issue back in about october and it was really annoying especially since i never had a headache before in my life. What i did might not work for you but i started consuming more sodium before and sometimes even during my workouts and started to take vitamin D and ever since i started that the headaches went away and didnt come back.
I think I saw Jenna's soul leave her body in that last heavy rep of hack squats! But then it took one look at Doc and Feather and decided to go back ... :)))
I love to train in a similar way with really high intensity and moderate volume, however I find myself sometimes overreaching and obliterating myself too often creating too much fatigue and needing to deload often. Would you recommend holding back more or lowering my volume to compensate for this? I've always struggled with holding back but I know it's an important skill. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to explode on squats but I've still been improving. I worry for my joint health, especially since I love lifting heavy. You provide some of the best content btw Mike.
I wonder what Jared meant @ 7:20 by that she is going to "overreach" after this -- given the amount of damage happening in the foreign ROM in the bottom of the rep. Meaning that she would accidentally try to hard underestimating the amount of damage already done and the recovery required?
How often should you train this hard? I use a RP workout I got from the site but maybe the last week of a meso where it is 1 rep to failure. With 3 meso’son the plan only 2 of the weeks say to go to 1 rep to fail. So 2 weeks out of the 13 weeks I would train this hard? Just making sure I am tracking
My gym finally got a hacksquat, and to my big dissapointment it dosen’t seem to go all the way down. The range of motion is like 80% of what i expected it to be. Do you think putting a foamroller on top something like this would help?
I'll be honest: I don't think I have the mental fortitude to do such hard hack squat sets like that and then follow that with a barbell squat. I usually do my hack squat sets with that intensity but all I can muster after is leg press because I can barely stand. I'm glad this isn't my job. lol
I was always afraid like a little girl when I would see people on the hack squat. Especially with heavy weight. I was worried my knees would snap. So silly I know. Then one day last month I grew some balls and decided to try it out.... Currently doing 2 plates plus 10s and man I love them
Dr Mike really tried to kill the girl. Jenn really did push herself. On the last hack squats I could see her eccentric break down. Not being able to balance on her two feet is a pretty clear sign of significant intensity. Good effort, Jenn, and good on Dr Mike and Jarred for getting hte most out of her.
It’s because they literally target the target muscle so well because of how upright you are and how it takes supporting muscles out of the equation. I find they’re “easier” than a barbell squat but I take my fatigue to a level I never could do with a barbell back squat (part of it probably because I have horrible femur to torso for squatting).
