Thanks for your video. I whooped mine right together. I trimmed the broken cap of with oscillating tool and sanded with one inch belt sander. The pvc glue is the bomb!
I have a 2016 Rebel that broke. Seems like the posts are bigger diameter and don’t have those vertical slots. 3/4 is just too big and 1/2 was too small. I cut 4 vertical slots in each post, used the 1/2” with pipe clamp, using the clamp to bend the plastic inward until it was tight enough to thread on. Had to get longer bolts as well from Lowe’s in the auto is drawer. M6x1.00x20. Had to grind the preinstalled washers for clearance. But it’s solid as a rock now! Thanks so much!!!

Actually the pvc glue failed. I used a generous amount of JB Weld Plastic Mender . Perfecto ! Never coming off!
