This is the Aussie Vocal Coach Baritone Vocal Workout. The vocal exercises in this workout are designed to improve your vocal range. Each exercise increases in range so please make sure you sing just above your comfort zone. You want a strong voice not a strained voice. The vocal range of the exercises is F2 to A5 however you don't need to sing every note as the exercises cater for both high and low baritones.

I love that you tell us which high notes we are singing!
Yes, Bruno you're right. It helps so much that Ian tells/shows us those E4 and F4 notes.
100% percent agree....👍 highly recommended video.
Dann right live it too, as a Beginner that's very handy

guys! just keep doing this with a proper breathing technique, it really improves my vocal range... i love this.. I've been doing this for a year and it works! i can now reach A4 without strain
Damn :0
Omg :O
What is your breathing technique
in full voice?! 😮
This is a great vocal range exercise, probably one of the very best !!!
Thank you so much for your videos! Today marks the first time I've been able to sing every single note confidently, with some room in the low notes to spare!
im the only girl baritone in my school and we only have till tenor alto and suprano(idk how its spelt) and my principal said she dislikes my voice but iim gonna train hard so ty for this video

Oimge, thank you soy mach. You really help me!
I'm a baritone by nature but lack of guys in choir trained me to think I'm tenor. At this point the lower exercises challenge me ,but I will keep at it to increase my lower register! Thanks for these awesome vids. Will buy u a coffee very soon for I understand and appreciate the time effort and energy you have sacrificed for us viewers!
how long have you practiced
@@bestkhomchan7356 haha ive been singing for over 20 years. However i been doing these particular vocal exercises for about a year or two
I'm baritone too, is there any way that I can practicing my range until I can sing in baritone and tenor range both? Is it possible? I saw some singers did it and I feel so jealous. My heart loves rock songs so much but seems like my vocal chord was made to sing Frank Sinatra type of songs 😅
So am I my friend, but baritone is small part of bass and some of tenor as well !
I would have to say is, try doing what you can as long your not straining your voice.
I use this one almost everyday and I'll do an another one before going into church! Thanks so much Mr. Castle!!
I used this to prepare for an audition & throughout the show and it helped me keep up & keep track of where my voice was at! So helpful, thank you.
this warmup is actually so good it unlocked my full voice a4 without strain. i now have a range of b1 to a4 compared to like a D2 to E4 but strained
Great to see the high and low notes written as they are sung.
Loving these workouts.
They definitely get more and more challenging each time! Awesome exercises. Thanks so much
Iam baritenor by nature sometimes tenor but I love my voice to enhance like this gift teaching us to be not just be better but to be great in Singing
This is helpful with improving my singing range as a mezzo who can hit bass notes. I never knew I could sing these notes so powerfully, thank you so much for your work!
This is so refreshing. I have a very low singing voice for a woman and these warmups taught me that I'm more of a baritone versus an Alto. No need to squeak and strain since I've literally found my voice with these workouts. Women with deeper and lower voices are not as popular but can be as beautiful as a belting mezzo soprano with the right song. I wish there were some of these specifically for women so we can explore and celebrate our unique voices.
Have you heard about Diana Ankudinova?
Hi Brianna! I bet you’re actually a contralto! 😁 Like Phyllis Hyman or Sade.
Thank you sooo much for putting these exercises up! I find the last exercise from G4 to A5 the toughest, but I will keep working at it! Thanks again! Enjoy the coffee!
Thanks a million. This is so helpful!
Ian you are the BEST. enjoy this very much :)
Really great warmup, thanks!
Love your channel man, thanks a lot! my singing teacher recommended it to me. More videos for Baritones!
Fantasia! The higher ranges were causing me to start straining slightly! I'll keep practicing 🙏
Thank you so much - from Norway
Excellent version! Shows notes and octaves. Thanks for this work! 🙏🏼
Thank you so much, Mr. Castle!
Berkay Erten you're welcome 😊
Terrific warm up! And I like that you put the notes as the scale got higher/and or lower so we know where we are at. As an aged singer, I have gained almost 4 notes below C, but lost some of the upper. I will use this and try to see if I can get some of those notes back. Thank you very much!
These are awesome vocal lessons and feel like my range is getting better and when you hit that A4 on the one, I was surprised that I was able to strike that one !!!
Thank you for these excercises, their great! I'm not feeling as much strain as when I first started doing this one !!😃
Really effective for increasing range. Many thanks.
Thank you! Very creative melodies which help train my agility
Excellent. Last one is the most challenging.
Hello from Brazil!!!
Your videos are helping me a lot!!
Lucas Emanuel Santiago de Santana Hello from Australia 🇦🇺😎
thank you very much, for the first time ever, I hit the f#4 note comfortably thanks so much.
You are one awesome coach! This really helped me understand how much strain I was having even at my “comfortable” range. It’s no wonder I struggled this whole time. Using these exercises has helped my comfortable range to truly be comfortable. I can’t wait to see what it does for range expansion. You are definitely a goat 🐐 thank you so much!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Thanks for the Work.
This is Really Helping me..
The last one the most challenging for sure! But brings me closer to pass my audition!
How did you feel in the audition ?
@@abdallahaddad620 I felt confident! And after a year of training I'm now a regular vocalist on my church's worship team. Ian castle gave me my start 😀
@@perry160598 happy to know man
I'm quite new to singing, and my chest voice can reach E4 in most exercises. However, for the last one, my voice started to feel struggle from D4. May I ask why the last one is the most challenging? thank you.
fab dude. lovd this
Thank you! All exercices that has consonants makes my voice crack
Man, I love this channel! Would love to see some of my favourite singers commented here!
Thanks for your teach bro!

This is an awesome workout Ian, thanks a million!
I could use just a little bit of extra range, perhaps D2 to C5 or C#5. There might be other singers out there who would prefer the same.. Keep up the good work!
If Ian had a dollar for each Einstein who wants a special workout for his range, he could retire and we'd be left without his brilliant exercise videos. There are bass, bass baritone, baritone, tenor, alto and soprano range workouts and myriads of others on top of that
Just...continue it in your head. You don't need the piano for the exercise to train your voice.
@@TheSandkastenverbot there is actually videos Ian has made for all male voices that will cater for the bass to tenor
Ian actually does have a male voice workout thag will suite bass to tenor range. Check itnout. If u absolutely must, u could alwaysnpause the video and keep going urself?
Well, it has been two weeks since I started this exercise video practicing it 6 days per week. Already, I have got that high F back again in my range. I can actually say I have a two octave range F to F. So we will see if I can "safely" get a bit higher. Thanks again Ian!
Keep on going but be careful!
@@davidcarrington9273 Indeed!

thank you!
Daaaamn I've improved soooo much from this and my music teAcher said she noticed a a huge difference so I told my music teacher that I learn more from you then what I've learned from the music teachers at my school, they don't teach breathing technique or warming up, they just start to play and say take this tone. One of my teachers got super angry that I said that they need to teach people about warming up and rifs and runs instead of just start to sing, specially when it's Early in the morning and we just got up from the bed😂😂🙌
Honestly im surprised they dont
It sounds almost like one of those movies where it's illegal to dance in their antiquated town, thereby leading to a kind of dance revolution (hehe)...only the spark that sets off panama is you standing up to the man.
Sounds pretty awesome proceed
The best!!
My vocal range used be pretty impressive when I was younger, but I stopped singing for a long time through high-school and my early twenties. Now that I'm starting to sing again, my vocal range and overall control is terrible, but this exercise definitely helps a lot even after just a couple weeks.
Thank u so much....From Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Thank you so much for that bro.
I’ll mention you someday 😅
I do without any strain so amazing
Super thanks 🙏 for this IAM baritone by nature but sometimes I try my self to do some tenor to challenge myself to I higher one but I nail it sometimes
thank you.
The best❤
As a baritone in musical theatre I want to be able to compete with tenors, thank you so much for this exercise! My normal usable range was E2 - E4/F4. so far after a week and a half I have E2 - F#4. Aiming for G#4 by the end of the summer!
how’s this workout helping your range so far ? :)
@@st4rboyshaun recently I have been hitting G/G# every so often. Its honestly surprising. Very helpful!
You have been commented this video 9 month ago, what's your results? Any tips, or you did this exercise every day, that helped you increase your vocal range?
@@connortist1150 any more results?
I’m actually surprised 😮 thank you I can do all the high notes and also the low notes I just didn’t know that I can to
For me, The higher notes are a stretch, but comfortable to E4. Low notes okay all the way down. Maybe I'm really a Bass.
It depends on whay kind of ,,stretch" you're saying. You can't belt those notes, that's what you're saying? Down as well: if you're a bass, you should be able to sing the low c2 with support and full chest voice.
I'm a bass-baritone. I can go down to e2 and up to d4 in full chest voice, but inhave to switch to mix over that d4, but can still hit the g4 with mix voice (can even belt it with bel canto technique).
Amazing. Thank you thank you!!!!

it was Perfect
magnifico Gracias...yo soy tenor pero me sierve Thanks
Low baritone here. Highest note is F4. Always been my goal to get to G4 comfortably. Hoping this will help.
Hey Ian, you know what would be helpful (without being ungrateful of course) ?? A quick belting workout!! Best regards from austria
Thank you very much for this exercise, i faced a chellenges when reaching level G#4
I needed thos
this has helped me so much! i was stuck in the B4/C5, straining so much my voice to get it to the fifth octave and now i'm almost getting at D5/E5 more comfortably and my C5s are coming out with almost no tension. thank u for this and keep up w/ the good work, bc u never fail to make me improve. :)
I am also stuck in the B4/C5 are you a baritone too?
@@marcosmeireles992 i am! also, don't worry about that, you're going to achieve more high notes comfortably with time. i'm almost at F5! i can reach it sometimes but it's rare.
@@marcos.4527 I can reach even a A5 but in mixed voice in my chest voice i don't go that high
@@marcosmeireles992 i'm working on my mix yet. i have strong lows down to D#2 on my better days, so i don't have a strong head voice by nature, but i'm working on it to see if i can mix more easily.
@@marcos.4527 That's good keep tranining you'll get there
Great

Thanks for your shar sir
I like the way you teacher God's love takes care of you sir ):

Random vid , night session, thanks
Thank you very much .. but can I ask how should I programme this workout ?? How many times a week ??
I do it without so I'm really a baritone
I am a low baritone, so, lower notes are not that challenging for me, I can consistently go down to E2 without an issue, but from F4 and onwards I struggle. I will keep trying these exercises and see what happens. They are actually very fun and I never done them before, so I am having a blast.
one month in how is it going for you?
@@joeygallegos5004 I’ve been very busy with my studies and I forgot to keep doing it. I hope I will get to it soon-ish
@@franxxet I wish i could sing E2 ... my lowest is A2 .. Bb2 prolly
Yeah same here man. I can usually go down to either F2 or E2 just fine, but going above F4 in chest voice is a big struggle.
Ur video is very helpful....please upload how to baritenor exercise please🙏🙏🙏 i need that stuff...iam a baritone singer but i want sing like tenor so please help me for baritenor exercise
Will doing this everyday help increase my vocal range because right now I can barely get past a D4
Can you please make a countertenor vocal workout?… Still very little done about it!…
Because there is a little uniqueness about our vocal problem or there is nothing special about it.
The range of these workouts seems to be almost exactly what I can ‘reach’. Not sing proper, but reach without strain. That’s quite handy.
Should I stick at a particular workout that I'm the best at ?? This one is great, thank you Mr. Castle !!!!
I love this one and a A5 is incredible!!!
I do this exercise for head voice
Christ, I'm seriously right in the middle of Baritone and Bass. I can't even begin to approach most of these high notes without going into my head voice, and when I follow bass exercises, I can't quite touch the bottom either. It's really annoying to have to switch between exercises for different voice types in order to cover my full range :/ Nevertheless, great video and thanks!
Robin Payne The bass-baritone voice type is quite common. I'll find time to create some warm ups and workouts. What's your range?
@@aussievocalcoach Wow! That would be amazing! So far I can cover D2-A4 pretty consistently, with my prima voce being on the lower end of the spectrum.
Ian, i wonder if this exercise is for chest voice or falsetto..i cannot do it in chest voice and then get lost in falsetto. Would be better if you could vocalise the whole exercise as an example, so we get it right.😂 I personally get all over the place.😅
How many rounds are you suppose to the video? Any suggestions?
Hello Sir, I haven't taken any singing lessons before and I wanted to improve my speaking voice. Will this video help me in getting a deeper voice?
about 2 months ago was barely hitting E4 now hitting G4
Hola ..""hullo""...desde que notas va el Baritone..?? ...G #4 me cuesta llegar...las graves no problem
Will these also work as a good vocal warm up?
For me,the last one was pretty difficult for me.I got low notes but high notes were pretty difficult 😅
Awesome! You were already on top of it before I posted that you should make this. Lol. Is it really up to A5? Haven't listened to it yet. But I'm totally buying you a cup of coffee ;)
Exercise 4 goes up to A5. I designed it so the top note of each exercise is higher than the previous. Exercise 1 goes to F4, Exercise 2 is G4, Exercise 3 G#4, then Exercise 5 A5. Thanks mate :)
@@aussievocalcoach Interesting, so it's the same note as A440. I learned it as A4. But no worries, I understand now. Thanks!
ZachariahPreston I see the confusion. I've always seen that as A5 as it's the 5th A on the piano but in terms of frequency it's A440. I'm happy to add some extra range if you want a workout High into head voice.
@@aussievocalcoach No need. What you've given is suffice enough. I have your other head voice workout for that. 👍
No it was A4.If you would have gone from G4 too A5 you would have gone to a 3rd octave .The clue was at the start when he said we cover 2 octaves.
I can do this and hit all the notes without issues. The only thing is ur notation for a seems to be annoctave higher. On the low end it says a3 when its the a in the second octave (the ithers say 2), and you go from a g#4 to an a5 only a half step higher? I think its the same misrake again- written as a5 but is a in the 4th octave.
I do these before every stu sesh
i was able to do all the vocal ranges, but i dont feel like i reached my highest range yet because i know i can go higher, is there a mixed excersize for guys perhaps, so i can figure out the highest note i can do ,and where i have room for growth?
How often should we be doing this exercise a day and week?
Also, are there any other baritone related exercise (that you have here on youTube) I should do to compliment this workout? Im trying to get together a good singing routine to increase my singing quality and range. Thanks!
He's got a 44 min full vocal workout video for baritones. Haven't tried it myself, but I bet it touches on a bit of everything.
I can sing all the way from a2 - f4
