    so i did your little test to see what my range was and i got tenor, even though i'm a girl. and it did not lie, i feel very in my comfort zone with these workouts. i even surprised myself when i successfully hit the lowest notes without straining my voice ! the higher ones are a bit of a problem though but i might get there with practice. i still think it's quite funny that i have a "male singing voice" but thank you so much for this !

      i did the test and got a tenor too. even though i'm a female. I also feel very comfortable in these workouts also. Only thing is the last low note for the tenor strains me. However i can hit the high notes, but what I noticed is that I can go as high as into like the mid alto without straining, though anything past that and I begin to strain.

The exercices are quite logical. Thank's. Maybe the Rossini vocalise with the same approach of changing the vowels could give a good exercice too.

    I can reach the C5 easily, but that doesn’t mean it was always comfortable to hit. It took a couple of years to learn to control it and to improve the sound to make it nice but comfortable. In fact, I’m not even a Tenor at all, I’m actually a Basso Profondo. My chest voice range is B1-C5. I guess that means I can play Bass, Baritone, and Tenor all at once. Thank you for this workout, I really appreciate it😁

    I am a female. I am learning your workouts. I like to sing chest voice. My range is on the lower notes. Am I dong the right things on my vocal studies? I recognize my breaks, but prefer not to switch to head voice. I can clear that break, and go falsetto. I am still learning control in that range. Should I be switching back and forth to reach the notes?

    The thing that I find hard about these exercises on youtube is they never say when to transition into your head/mixed voice...so I end up pulling too much of my chest voice all the time = straining.

    • @luizferrysinger
      @luizferrysinger 4 месяца назад

      Pull as much as you can your chest as long as you keep your neck and jaw reagion totaly relaxed.....this requires a lot of abdominal/ diafragm/pelvis/ lower bak power

    • @MrRicardobotti
      @MrRicardobotti 26 дней назад

      the passaggio note, where you transition, is not a fixed note for all males, or for all tenors, it depends. There is a range in which you switch. If you feel you're straining probably you're "spingendo". ( Using your neck muscles to create sound, that might be the strain you're feeling) As per @luizferrysinger, you need a lot of support ( so singing with the correct breathing technique, diafragm breathing ..and that does require strength, to begin with, but later on becomes part of what you need to do to sing and it becomes natural. If you feel you're straining take a minute or two to relax. Then continue.

    • @garywhitley5046
      @garywhitley5046 4 года назад +2

      I think it's a warmup going from the more frontal "Me" to "Eh" which is back a little, and "Ah" back more and a really, nice open vowel to sing. It (Ah) will help you to open up more on the "Me" and "Ah" as you keep drilling.

      Hi Ian, thanks so much for the response.... I have always had trouble singing softly on high notes, need better sustainability, the voice gets very airy as well. I want to increase my ability to "clearly" sing high notes without having to force the issue. I really have been improving since I've followed some of your other lessons. Perhaps I need something that increases muscle strength in the voice for better overall control at higher levels. I am fully open to ANY suggestions. I totally understand the sharing part too, I wouldn't want to be responsible for your getting 35K peeps asking for specialized lessons, but then again, if they all bought you a cup of coffee, that might work....lol
      I totally appreciate everything, if there is already something you have that you suggest that would be cool too....
      Thanks again Ian, you're the Man!!!

      You don’t have to sing every note. Just sing in a range suitable for your voice.
