You forgot to show an important step - Brushing the suede after it dries.
After cleaning and drying the suede will become stiff and show inconsistencies.. You have to brush them with a suede brush to make the finish consistent and smooth again.

I have some leather boots that seem stained by manufacturer but untreated or maybe treated with oil. They scratch very easily! They are a dull finish vs smooth but not suede. How do I cover the scratches that are much lighter in color than the finish? Thank you.
