One of my fondest memories of my Dad comes from the wonderful smell of him polishing his boots and showing me how to do the same. My children say the same about me, so this channel just warms my heart. I need to order some conditioners, creams, because all I have been doing is polishing......but not anymore. Thanks for sharing your passion with us!
Same! I remember one of the fondest memories from my father is shining together our leather shoes. I guess it's one of the things that a father teaches his son as he goes into manhood.
My husband has been watching your show for a long time and has purchased a pair of boots for our 14 year old daughter. She loves to watch it with her father while doing homework and has learned so much about the ins-and-outs of boots because of you guys. Thank you
@trenton & Heath - is it okay to have just one horse hair brush? or do you guys actually use 2 horse hair brushes thats specifically for dirt and one for shine. Thanks!

Never had anyone to teach me this kind of thing and just cleaned up and polished my leather boots for the first time since I've owned them for a year. They look like a million bucks now, thanks for the video man
Thanks for continuing to make new videos for us. Other channels would rather show off photos of their $1000+ boots, but y'all continue to give us the content we crave.
Watching these shoe care videos brings back childhood memories of when I shined my shoes almost every Sunday night, using a folding shoe holder on the pantry door, a brush, Kiwi wax, a rag for applying the wax and another for buffing to a ‘spit’ shine.
I had a drill instructor that would have had you shine that boot until he could see his reflection. Ha ha. A good video. Lots of younger people have no clue about caring for leather footwear. You provide knowledge. Thanks a million.
I enjoy using a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol or acetone and rub it along the stitching.. The stitching becomes clean and white again and pops against the uppers color.. Really makes your shoes look new..
My goodness, those are handsome boots. I find the Captain to be a great looking boot and after getting the treatment here in the vid, oooh baby, she looks good. It's hard to look away. 😍
I bought Saphir products today and watching your tutorials. Its an amazing transformation. Gonna use it on my Dan Post Mignon Black Cherry boots. Thank you for the information. Much appreciated.
Amazing transformation. The beautiful patina on these boots was completely hidden by all the dust and grime. The owner needs to step up (or just begin) his shoe care game. Easy stuff, just brush them quickly after each use, and hydrate once a month. My Iron Rangers look just like these at the end, that gentle shine. I love that look. Thanks for another great video!
Cleaning my exact same boots watching your video.. this Thursday boots are one of the best boots in the world to be honest they can easily last you a decade if not more
Love my Thursday Captains. So much so that I’m going to buy another Thursday Boot. I think I going for one of the distressed leathers this time as I’m going to shift them to daily wear and keep the Captains as dress boots. Just not sure which model I’m going for yet.
What a perfectly appropriate video. I just got 2 pairs of Thursday Boots 2 weeks ago; Captains in Neutral and Presidents in brown. I was going to go for Neutral Cream Polish for both pairs, but as I have Saphir Cream in Burgandy, I'll use that, when the time comes for them to be cleaned up. Thanks
Thank you so much for the informative video. I bought a relatively in nice condition Thursdays at a thrift store and after following your advice, they look better than brand new. Thank you again.
Awesome polishing tutorial! I have learned everything that I know about leather boots from this channel 🙏🏻 The waterproofing spay works by using small particles of fiber glass and can cause serious lung damage if inhaled. This stuff is no joke, please stay safe guys and keep making quality content.

You can apply with a rag, with gloved hands, or with a brush. Feel free to add more if your boots are really dehydrated. 4:45 You're pretty much done (if you don't mind some scuffs or whatever) 5:38 Buffing out the boot 6:10 SHOE CREAM (not wax!!) To put colour back into the boots. Applying with a rag and rubbing it in. Be careful to avoid the stitches. (note: reason for not using wax here is because you don't want buildup) 7:40 / 8:40 Give it a few minutes to dry when done, then you can buff it out. 9:10 This would be the time to add wax for shine and/or weather protection. Here they add waterproofing spray instead.

Always thought I knew how to condition my boots well, but I have still learned a bit more from you guys. Thanks for the fantastic video. And by the way I also swear by the Sapphire products. Your got a new subscriber!
I left a pair of clogs outside during a week of heavy rains and very hot weather. They were stiff as a board and had shrunk so much that my heel hung over the back edge. I massaged them inside and out with coconut oil over 5 days and now they look and feel soft and supple as when I got them! I have Bick 4 that I use on my cowboy boots and they look good after I use it but it just doesn't seem to last very long; think I might try coconut oil on them also.

I read the title.... I thought about it, but no, I don't have need to learn how to clean and condition my Thursday boot captain! He's good! He is a captain after all...I taught him well....lol
Got a question for you. My Thursday Captains left boot has a tongue that always “shifts left” but the right one does not. No matter what I do, that left tongue shifts left off the shin bone of my leg. I LOVE these boots but I end up adjusting that tongue a few times a day and I wonder if there’s anything you PRO’s would suggest? Do you have a video on this problem? My left and right leg sun bones and dimensions are identical. It’s not that I got some weird leg! Any thoughts or suggestions?
Just got my first pair of Thursday Boots. I got a pair of Presidents. When should my first cleaning and conditioning be done on my boots. Had them a week, no break in problems at all. Also like how well they are made. A very good boot so far..
Did you use a different brush for cleaning the shoe and polishing the shoe? How do you clean maintain your brush when they get dirty? Just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have always purchased shoes and tossed them when they wore out. I am attracted to the idea buy quality shoes if I can get more use out them. (i.e. having them resoled etc.)
I like the Saphir Renovateur (and the rest of their line of shoe care products) for dress shoes and small fine leather goods. The larger projects... outdoor leather goods/tack, work boots, automotive upholstery, etc., I prefer the Bick 4 conditioner, and often reach for my Obenauf's leather oil (has some beeswax and propolis in it). Conditioning the leather is a must. Good vid, thanks for putting them out. And, had they not mentioned the fact they sell the Saphir products, I wouldn't've known. Their pricing is fair and you're not gouged on shipping like some ebay sellers. I appreciated that when I stocked up about a month ago.
RatdogDRB Bick 4 and Obenauf’s are both great products! Like you said, just keeping your boots conditioned is huge. It will definitely extend the life of any leather boot/shoe. Thank you as well for your patronage!
Excellent information!! I just purchased my first pair of "good" boots, not "throw out" type brands. I purchased Thursday Captains in brown and wanted to know if I should do anything to them before wearing them such as waterproofing? Thanks for help!
This is the best and most simple tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you! 😊 One question, though. How do you clean your horse hair brush, so you don’t transfer product from one shoe to another?
I don't have a pair of Captains.....yet. Seeing how they hold up after being worn here I'm even more wanting a pair and probably will get some soon. I just want to wait until I can get a real foot measurment done to insure I pick the right size.
Very detailed video. Thank you. I have a question. Isn’t there a possibility that the conditioner pulls out some color? I tried conditioning my new boots and the cloth I used was turning brown and black again and again like my boots were super dirty. I used grangers leather conditioner. I have to mention that my boots (Levi’s Emerson) are dark brown and have some sort of black burn decoration. After putting conditioner and wax the boots are worse than it was before. The color is lighter and much of the finish gone. Maybe I did put much products on it and made coats on the leather that make em look a bit ugly. Any ideas to clean all this stuff from the leather without damaging it so I can start again with the right products and the correct way?
Thank you for the video I have been looking for something like this for my boots. I just got a new pair of Thursday Boots captain in the same color for my Birthday and wanted a way to keep them looking nice
Another excellent video. Is this pair made of calf or CXL? Regarding CXL care; do you recommend the Saphir Oiled Leather, or one of the two Renovateurs? Thanks!
Nicely done. Looks amazing in that before and after shot. I’ve made the mistake of not being careful when using shoe cream near light colored stitching. Told myself I’ll put painters tape next time hahaha.

I have those boots. Super happy with them. Thanks for the video.
Excellent information!! I just purchased my first pair of "good" boots, not "throw out" type brands. I purchased Thursday Captains in brown and wanted to know if I should do anything to them before wearing them such as waterproofing? Thanks for help!
Why would someone dislike one of these videos? I just don’t understand.
I was wondering the exact same thing
Jacob B Walters thank you very much!
Barefoot bandits most likely.
I bought my Saphir products from you guys and it arrived faster than my AE shoe trees despite being ordered a day or two after
Kyle Abosch thank you very much! We try to get products out as fast as we can to valued customers.
These videos contain great and helpful info. Thanks, guys, for keeping current haircuts! That’s the first thing I noticed!
Excellent! You added before and after shots!
thechief043 Thank you! We appreciate you watching.
Is there anything you can do to protect the stitches from pigment? Would make a clear wax over the stitches first work?
This is the best and most simple tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you! 😊
One question, though. How do you clean your horse hair brush, so you don’t transfer product from one shoe to another?
Have multiple
For that color cream which one on their site is the Burgendy. I have these exact boots and need to do this to them. Thank you!
I don't have a pair of Captains.....yet. Seeing how they hold up after being worn here I'm even more wanting a pair and probably will get some soon. I just want to wait until I can get a real foot measurment done to insure I pick the right size.
Good work learns a lot shoe repair
Thank you! We appreciate you watching.
How often would you condition regularly worn boots?
Kevin C. Awesome on your purchase. Thank you so much for watching our videos as well!
What color was he conditioning in the video as you said you had the same color? I never heard him say it.
Another excellent video. Is this pair made of calf or CXL? Regarding CXL care; do you recommend the Saphir Oiled Leather, or one of the two Renovateurs? Thanks!
I second this question. The Captain Boot series have so many brown-ish colors and some are CXL. Are these one of those boots?
I believe that is Thursday's proprietary Brown Chrome leather kind of similar in hue to Horween's color #8.
Thanks for the tutorial.
Great video. Should we use the water proofing spray on new Thursday boots? And on all their models? Thanks!!
I check your channel on daily basis.
Nicely done. Looks amazing in that before and after shot. I’ve made the mistake of not being careful when using shoe cream near light colored stitching. Told myself I’ll put painters tape next time hahaha.
Eye Heart Sushi actually a trick we use sometimes is use a neutral cream around the stitching and then the colored cream doesn’t have to be as close.
Trenton & Heath Appreciate the tip!
Thank you on your video, I learned a lot about leather shoes, is DM shoe is the same as other leather shoes
I love this video. If you ever wanted to do my Parkhurst.
I'm going to be needing your shoe products. Thank you for the tutorial.
I like to put Saphir BdC on my Old English Captains. Would it be best to use the Invulner spray before, or after I wax my Captains??🤔✨
What conditioner/cream would you recommend for rough out leather ? Your videos are always clear and informative. Thank You !
Wow they look brand new
Great Video, thanks! What type of cloth do you recommend for applying the shoe cream?
