- Flying a Diamond DA40-180 is a bit different than the newer NG variant. Avgas vs Diesel and FADEC vs Manual engine controls are a few of the differences. Come along as I take Mark (a fellow CFI with plenty of NG time) on a check out ride in my old school DA40 to see if he can manage without all of the computer help of the NG.

My brother recently purchased an NG, and I'm loving watching your videos to learn about the aircraft. You guys were entertaining!
Both of them good enough
Hi :) how do you fix the gopro below the wing?
I mount it to the tie down ring. There are several commercial mounts available to do this but, I built mine for about half the price using this video: ruclips.net/video/Q6Qt1LNJR5I/видео.htmlsi=WybicatGAqfDnJ7y
The NG has about 30 minutes of powered flight after the alternator fails.
Is that a joke?
The ECUs require power to run the engine. The main battery can run those for about 30 min. There is also a backup battery for ECU B that will provide an additional 30 minutes. So, you have 30-60 mins before the engine shuts down. This is similar to having two e-mags installed in a non FADEC system.
