I'm sorry it took foreveeeeeeeerrrrr to edit! Next video will probably be apartment / room tour! :D Btw I kinda wonder how it is to move in other countries as well :D
my country has a lot of island, depend on where you are going to live. If gonna living on same island, just call personal moving service then if living on diff island, you should donate every furniture and electronic (which they will come and get the things for free) or sell them (for women that that living alone, i dont recommended it). you should get a good friend, so can help each other..living alone is very lonely plus hv no friend..ughh 😢
Haha I do have friends actually but they were all busy and far away when I needed to move. Some of them offered to help on the last day so I got some help too, just didn’t feel good asking for help haha... I feel bad for my friends 😂 Which country are you from?
I'm from Florida usa all you do is change address if you don't do ebill on your bills and do mail forwarding or hold mail. Transfer anybill that in your name to new address if possible (water, gas, cable). You can hire moving company...I don't know if there people that will pack for you but you can pack yourself and they come in and move it. We also have moving pod which is a large container you put your stuff in and they move it to either storage location or your new house. There is shop you take things in, or leave things on the sidewalk for people to take. You put in ad on Craigslist/Facebook (if allowed in your area) if you just want to throw it out. You need to call waste management to pick up anything that won't fit in the bins.
I always feel sorry for the boys / baggage handlers at the Check in counters at the Airports. Lugging the baggage’s of passengers. See them doing such a hard job, I try to pack minimum things when I travel. If I can travel with a just a hand luggage or carry on, I don’t do Check in luggage anymore. Have a heart ❤️ for those workers
Hello Linh, as always this was very interesting, and my goodness, you really put in so much detail, a new beginning, and I hope it all goes well so happy to see you again, I really admire what you do keep them coming, I watched this on the train home from London, a big day, and lots to edit, bless you my friend.
For someone who will never be in this situation (I live in the UK haha) I still really enjoyed watching this video. It's brilliantly filmed and edited as per usual and I can appreciate the vast amount of time and effort it must take to make content of this standard. I hope you will be very happy in your new space.
To be honest, I’m really bad at counters 😂 even these days I try my best to avoid it if I can because I never actually learnt it either... so can’t really make sure that my information is correct... 😂 I think it will probably be more helpful if you read from posts on Internet 😂 I just know some basic counters like つ, 枚, 台 etc. 😂
Chill With Linh omg same I only know 本, 枚, 個, 人, and つ. And learning those wasn’t easy 😭 , but well it’s fine that you can’t do it 😊. But I do have one more question, do people really use counters ? Is it very common ?
I can see is hard to try and get rid of things in Japan, when I moved out were I lived, I sold lots of the stuff I had, plus gave away all kitchen gadgets and clothes to the needy, at the end I had 5 big bags of clothes wich were hard but I took them out of the building and back home... We really spend a lot of money just buying stuff
So it is actually easier to move from one place in Saigon (HCMC) to another then in Japan. :-) Great channel. Several of my Vietnamese friends studied in Fukuoka. Do a future video about getting Vietnamese food in Japan. That would be interesting. Cheers.
I have never moved in Vietnam so I'm not sure but I can imagine that it will be easier and cheaper... It's easy to hire people to come and help as well... Vietnamese food in Japan is definitely a good video idea! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Yea I will think about that!! I just need to keep track of my spending haha I’m not doing that right now so I’m really not sure how much I’m spending...
Moving in/out is one of the most difficult situations in Japan. Doing this alone is just so brave from you! And by the way, next time you want to dispose stuff in an eco way, use facebook groups usually include “sayonara/ sales” words + your area. Yokohama sayonara sales for ex in your case. You will find other foreigners want to giveaway/ take stuff and you don’t have to pay for anything:)
Just found your channel a couple days ago while looking for videos about Japan for an upcoming trip next year. Love them! So detailed and thoughtful (And I'm definitely going to the teamLabs exhibit now). You have a good personality for a youtuber because it's very easy to identify and empathize with you even if the situation doesn't apply to me. Also, I thought your video detailing your depression was really brave and helpful. Subscribed! Please keep making more videos.
Lol I loved your intro music. You did a great job moving by yourself. I’m proud of you. It’s good to know that you don’t need to depend on someone to help you. I live in Houston Texas. It’s very easy to move here. Almost every one own big trucks. I don’t have a lot of moving experience I bought my house when I was 18. I’ve been living here ever since. The driving in Texas is great so I don’t have to commute with bus or train. I also have been working with the same job since I was 18. Now I’m 40 so I have been lucky. I’m a paramedic. Well now I’m more of a trainer for paramedics. I’m very close to retiring.
Thank you so much. The issues you have to face are exceedingly interesting. I don't think much has been discussed about them on the internet. The information you shared is especially useful for foreigners not familiar with the norms and practices in Japan and are moving into the country for the first time.
Great Video Linh. The video quality, editing and music was great. You did a really great job with it.😁. Being single is hard in a lot of ways. Moving is yet another one of those ways. It’s challenging, expensive and just plain annoying. I’ve moved my self a few times and had some of the same issues you did. Haha as much as I felt sooo lazy to get everything done, I also felt good to be independent and took care of everything without asking for much help :D anyway thanks~
When I moved from tokyo to chiba,I faced the same difficulties. No one help me,my budget is very limited.I decided to dispose bed and couch as a sodaigomi and send other things by kuroneko. Now instead of these items,I use futon and zaisu(legless chair). So far, I feel my room is comfortable and spacious.
U are so cute ... I like your videos especially your narrative. And the videos show how down to earth you are as a person which i like most about you. Wish to see more of your videos soon. 😊
Wow, nicely done! its so heavy to move actually, i also moved like 4 or 5 times by my self already because of school or city change, but it makes you feel happy after you can do everything by your self :D :D
OMG!!! it's really lots of things when you move in Japan! N your video is mentioned every details. It's so informative! Congratulations for getting everything done on your own👏👏👏
Thank you for showing us your real moving experience, I move to another house when I got married and it was a stressful situation, I'm looking for a another place and I think with kids it will be a lot more stressful, lol. Also I'm really glad you moved out and found a place where you feel more comfortable. Always glad to see a video from you Linh!!!!!
@@ChillWithLinh Thank you Linh! Also kudos to you for making all by yourself, it must have been difficult and stressful for you, but I'm glad you could do it!!!! And don't stress for uploading videos for us, we all be waiting for you, when you have the time! Greetings from Mexico
Thanks for the video. Looking forward to your new apartment tour. I really enjoy your previous apartment tour, you’ve included lots of very detailed information of your japanese apt, its very enjoyable to watch. Hope you’re doing well back there Linh. ❤️
Great video Linh! Very informative and an interesting look at how it works in Japan. I bet a lot of people will find this really helpful. I hope it does well for you! thanks! Keep up the fun work!
Interesting video Linh! I haven't moved for years & dread the thought of it as I have a house full of things...;-)) Hoping you are happy in your new apartment..;-))
It's amazing the junk we accumulate in our lives. I hate moving....but at the same, it's an opportunity to reassess how much of that junk do we really want.
Hey Linh recently found your channel and really enjoying it, well done on the move and looking for a better price. Something I wanted to point out for you just to help you out is when you mentioned the word "stuffs." So to help you using this word in english, we use it more to say a sentence like "Henry stuffs the turkey" in the present tense. Or "she stuffs her drawers with clothes." But the way you are mentioning it you can say "stuff", you don't need to make it plural with an (s) or the meaning is not the same, even though you make it singular it represents everything. Or if you do want to make it plural you can say "things" instead, I hope that I don't cause any offence your english is wonderful, just to help you out keep doing what you are doing great job.
Chill With Linh Coming from you, it is lovely, so do not worry about it. You do speak English very well and your voice is as we say here in America is very "easy on our ears." (Meaning: "Pleasant.") English is one of the tougher languages. Some words can have many different uses depending on context. The word: "Foodstuffs" is one. I'm impressed by the efficiency and order of your home. Anyway...enjoy your weekend when it comes!
Very interesting topic and helpful. It must be difficult for you at times with no one to help. You did great though. Btw are there fully furnished or maybe partly furnished apartments that you can rent? That way you don’t have to worry too much about big furniture. Can’t wait for your next video 😀
My friend came and helped me a bit at the end actually but the delivery guys did mostly everything haha. It's fully furnished so I don't need to buy anything! I'll talk about that more in my room tour video :D
Hi Linh, I’m certainly not making fun, you are multi lingual so I have no room to talk. When you say stuffs, it doesn’t need the S at the end. Stuff is already plural. Actually I hope you don’t change how you say it bcos it’s really cute:) Hope you’re having a good weekend! PS, moving sucks! But nice having a new place once it’s done:)
Haha I fixed it already actually. Some people pointed that out here too so I changed it since then 😂 anyway thanks! Hope you’re having a good weekend too!
My goal for now is to just even go to Japan for a vacation. It just feels way complicated atm @_@ language barrier and all. Btw as for your clothes that u gave away.Where I'm from, I just give them to the church and they pretty much will save it for the poor and homeless, not sure if that was a possible way for you.
Hmm I don’t know how it is for church here... there are places that collect clothes and also places like Zara, H&M or Uniqlo have recycle box but I can’t bring so many things with me there by myself so I chose to send instead... language barrier is definitely there but Japanese are helpful even when they can’t communicate with you so don’t worry!
Hi Linh, thanks for sharing your moving experience. It’s stressful to move home in any country, I have moved house 3 times, never again 🤔 If I lived near you I would have been so happy to help you move. You are so independent and resourceful and I really hope that you will be happy in your new apartment 🙏 Take care ❤️
yeaa I'm really enjoying my life in the new place now!! :D My friends were so far away and were busy on the day I needed to move so they couldn't help me much... but I'm glad I figured out how to do everything by myself haha... good experience! :D Anyway thanks ~
Hello, thank you so much for sharing the details. I have a question. How long ago do I have to deliver my items to my new address? Can yamato keep my items with them for some days until i reach my new address?
Hi sorry for late response. It depends on the distance between where you are and where you want to send your items so it’s best to check with yamato when you have to deliver your items. Maybe check out their website if you understand Japanese. I don’t know if Yamato can officially keep your items for you, but if you set the date you want the items to be delivered (配達希望日) to be several days afterwards then that should work I think. In that case they would keep the items for a while until delivery.
I feel shy so I never really do that so there’s no tips haha... but for sure you can try to talk and discuss and ask them to make it cheaper... but probably won’t make a big difference
@@ChillWithLinh okay... I am trying to do the math whether it was economical to throw the bed out. Those door to door delivery guys would have taken how much for a dis-assembled bed?

By the way u are so kind . Well done
Thank you ☺️ 💕
Hope your ok Linh x
I’m okayyy
Wonderful English! Great work!
Thank youuu :)
Would love to meet you someday 😊❤️
Linh thanks for your video on teamlab planets Tokyo. I visited it this week, it was great.
thanks for letting me know!! I know you would enjoy it!!! Everyone does! :D
Very interesting! You're a great host.
Thanks for watching !! ☺️
Moving is so stressful. I try to have as little as possible so if I have to move I can grab it all in a few hours and be done
Haha yea I realized that I should do that too...
Nice video thanks 💕
thanks for watching 💕💕
Hi Linh, thanks for sharing your moving experience. It’s stressful to move home in any country, I have moved house 3 times, never again 🤔 If I lived near you I would have been so happy to help you move. You are so independent and resourceful and I really hope that you will be happy in your new apartment 🙏 Take care ❤️
yeaa I'm really enjoying my life in the new place now!! :D My friends were so far away and were busy on the day I needed to move so they couldn't help me much... but I'm glad I figured out how to do everything by myself haha... good experience! :D Anyway thanks ~
Be my tourist guide if i ever visit Japan ^^
I wish I couldddd but it’s likely that I don’t have time for that 😢
Hello, thank you so much for sharing the details.
Thank you for sharing. You do have friends! US!! 😀
Haha yea I do have friends. I was just being dramatic
@@ChillWithLinh I know.. Lol
Greetings from Brazil!
hiii
I’d love to have the experience of living in Japan but it would be hard for me at my age.
Brilliant video.very smart girl.its tiny maybe but ur a golden hearted girl.
Aww thank youuu 🙏 ☺️☺️
nice but why you disable comments on last video ?
hmm which one?? I didn't .... and people are still commenting I think...
actually I just checked and it was disabled but I didn't do it!! I don't know why maybe youtube did that haha... I just turned it back on :)
@@ChillWithLinh haha.. I knew I wasn't going crazy.. thanks for the videos
haha sorry I don't know what happened either...
Hey, how did you manage to get away with paying the "damages" on the wall caused by wall hooks? I'm on the same boat hahaha
Well I didn’t 😂 Have to pay but my company got that covered so I don’t have to pay for that myself... good luck 😂
You’re a good person
Aw haha thank you 😂
Please do whats on ur iphone video
Ohhh okay sure I’ll keep that in my list!
The best part is the clothes part. I think very useful info. Instead of throwing off stuff, why not donate. Thank you.
Yes! I’m glad I found that option so I dont have to feel too bad that my clothes become a waste!
Do you have tips for haggling moving in fees from real estate agencies? 😊
I feel shy so I never really do that so there’s no tips haha... but for sure you can try to talk and discuss and ask them to make it cheaper... but probably won’t make a big difference
what service did you get from the yamato?and did they accept same day delivery?
I used this one:
www.008008.jp/transport/kazai/
I’m not sure because I’ve never done that before but I don’t think they accept same day delivery
@@ChillWithLinh thank you so much for the reply!
Wow it is very expensive to change department, greetings from Mexico 💜
Yess sooo expensiveee
Can you show us your new apartment with price plz make a video
I’m posting that tonight :)
Thxx
I would help, but only if you're my tourist guide after that :)
Haha I wish I had time for that..
Hi chill it seems very nice. One day I'll visit Japan if God may give chance I'll meet U🤗 and U r beautiful.
Do an vedio of ur family
My family isn’t living close to me 😂
@@ChillWithLinh fine.
whenever i watch your videos it gives me relaxing how you can be so simple and so sweet you make your videos so unique style keep doing kissing you💚💚
you're so sweet thank youuu 💚💚💚💚
Good job on doing all the moving works.
wow! i'm first one here
congrats haha!
Q. How much the bed cost?
Ummm somewhere around 20000 yen (~200$) though I don’t remember the exact price
@@ChillWithLinh okay... I am trying to do the math whether it was economical to throw the bed out. Those door to door delivery guys would have taken how much for a dis-assembled bed?
I don’t know. Probably 20000 yen to deliver. So that’s like buying a new one already
what camera do you use to film?
I use just Iphone X these days...
Plzz tell me is working in Japan is depression ???????
haha yea can be. it depends on the company and the people around you I guess. It can be very isolating if you're not in the right place for you
