  • Hurricane Fiona hit Nova Scotia pretty hard, but fortunately our route to Three Mile lake wasn't completely demolished. More fortunately, other kind outdoor-folks had done most of the trail clearing before we went in. This was another great 3 day trip (its too much effort to get in and out for one night).
For anyone new to the channel, welcome!! This is a typical canoe/portage/camping trip for me where no one looses weight.
I had not been to Three Mile lake since Halloween two years ago and so Johnny and I felt it was time to go back.
This trip came together fairly fast and with only 2 of us going, our meals had to be slightly less elaborate. I also worked the night before and only got about 4 hours sleep.
Part one of two and covers day one and up to lunch on day 2.
Hope you all enjoy it. I will start work on editing the second half soon.

Great video guys! A rain day is not always a bad thing. You can slow down and become master chefs! It all tastes good in the wood!

Great video and as always lots of wholesome food. Can’t wait to see what the packages reveal!!! The portage on this one looked a bit challenging to reach the lake. Loved the shots of Tilly and Speka they do steal the show slightly. Another good one.

Some neat shots of the paddle in. Hard to believe you had to worry about food spoilage in mid October! Glad you explained what was in with the eggs, they looked a little different… thanks for the vid and looking forward to part 2.

Proper enjoyed that Kris, making me miss the Canada woods and lakes! Those eggs look dubious…can’t wait to find in part two if all is good or not! Hopefully the only fast flowing fluids is the scotch!

That scotch was a great addition to my pack... really hits the spot (although I think if the weather had been colder, it would have been even better).

Was the trails muddy? Bad muskage?

Surprisingly no.. there definitely were sections that were a little boggier than normal, but I wouldn't have got my feet wet if I was slightly more careful when walking.
