    Nice short overnighter Kris, i was watching some other tubers that were canoe-camping in ontario and quebec provincial parks and was reminded how spolied we are in NS to have woods and water a plenty... that you can zip out, paddle a lake, create a home away from home with almost zero impact to the woods and enjoy nature. Somehow canoe camping to an established tent pad and fire pit and bear can/hanging system doesnt leave you with the same wilderness feeling... oh,and i agree with your other commentors. Your dogs are why we watch...lol

      As long as you're watching, I'm happy to be second fiddle. And you are right.. love being able to establish a new campsite in an awesome yet never used location just by cutting a couple branches. I still can't believe my luck with the lack of flies.

    I caught this video of yours last night & watched it with my wife. Your dogs stole the show for us!!! We couldn't believe your dogs names are Sprout & Tilly. We had a border collie named Sprout (best dog ever!) and still have an orange cat named Tilly! Small world...it was great to hear their names being called by a total stranger...brought back alot of memories, thank you! Great video, enjoyed the trip! Greetings from Arkansas, gonna sub!

      That is a really rare coincidence! My mother in-law came up with the name for Sprout and no one around here had ever heard it (for a pet). Very happy you enjoyed the video and welcome aboard. Tilly has been around for 6 years but Sprout is a very recent addition to the channel. The NS Duck Tolling Retrievers are quite similar to a Border Collie in a lot of ways (except their jobs are in the water as opposed to herding on land). Great company on the trips.

    Nice overnighter!. Disappointed to see perch in the lake. Your dog shelter is perfect

      Yea I caught 2 or 3 of the buggers. There were loads after the fly that were tiny, so I'd say its full of them unfortunately.

    Nice video! Last year I picked up a tarp and bugnet from Onewind. The bug net is removable. It is big enough to fit my hammock and lab in it. That way there's only one tarp to bring. It is also a great bug shelter when tripping with others.

    • @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman
      @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman  6 месяцев назад

      I think I've seen those! I suppose any tarp that encloses the whole hammock would work! Good idea, Ill have to check it out👍

      Thanks Matt! He is a natural with a lot of the camp life for sure. He can be a little bugger at times, but he's getting there.

    Nice bug shelter for the dogs! My darker coloured husky has to wear a head net for the deer flies they love her so much! She's not a fan of the net, but prefers it to the flies!

      Thank you! The mosquitos really go for the Tollers but the deer flies come to me (or any black dog that may come with me). I dont know if I could teach mine to wear a bug net.. that is impressive!

    Real nice video. Nice pups😊 I have to get a new knee so I can’t get out like a want to. Glad I came along. EW Bourbon is fine. 😊

      Thanks for watching and hope the new knee is sooner than later! I agree about EW.. it's my goto bourbon for the woods because it's got more flavour than some of the more expensive ones but is actually reasonably priced here. Thanks for watching!

      THANKS FELLER! Yea, the magic of editing has hidden all the times that Sprout was naughty... but he is a cute little bugger and is fitting in really well.

    Perfect weather for a short getaway and happy to see the pups’ new shelter work! Now you just have to take it to a sewing machine to shorten it or get the child version for them….

      Yes indeed! I think it should be tightened up right to either side of the doors. Ive not sewn netting before, but i bet it would not be too difficult 😉👍

    Just came back from a trip here, the water is much lower. Had to get out and float the canoe through those three obstacles. Lots of rocks just under the surface too on the main lake. Still enjoyable though! It's a beautiful spot.

    • @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman
      @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, it wouldn't take much of a level decrease to make impossible to paddle through. I was surprised that I didn't have to get out and walk. Great area and gets even better when the leaves turn. I've haven't seen any ticks there other than the boat launch site too.

    • @DodgeMan360
      @DodgeMan360 3 месяца назад +1

      @@thecoffeefuelledwoodsman Yeah I bet it would be! The leaves are starting to change a little bit on the main road already, which seems a little early. I hope to get back later in the fall. Yeah I didn't see any tick's at all, but definitely have picked them up out by the launch as well.

    12 cups of coffee does sound like alot for someone that just has one a day. But obviously everyone is different. As long as your fine with it.

    • @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman
      @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman  6 месяцев назад +1

      It turned out that I had more than enough! 12 over the two days is 6, 8oz cups (which for most people we drink 12-16oz and consider that a cup of coffee). The 9 cup perco is a little overkill for just me in the morning. Probably should grab a 6 cup for solo trips 😉

    Enjoyed the vid…..been a subscriber for long time…..was trying to figure out where you put in? Was it at the top of South Lake at northeast cove? Was wondering about paddling up in that area myself.

    • @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman
      @thecoffeefuelledwoodsman  3 месяца назад

      There is a short trail down to the lake at the North West side... The road goes between Big St. Margarets Bay Lake and South. I've been lucky with water levels as I could paddle without having to carry over the narrows (which there are 4 or 5 if you come in from this side). Thanks for watching and sticking around 😉
