The problem is the heating and cooling of the TCM. That causes circuit board flex and cracking of the solder joints. Move the TCM to the firewall so it does not get as hot as it would sitting on the hot transmission!
@@deathoftheautomobile I also got one off ebay and it s been in for two weeks, no problems. Your video really helped me out. Haven t really put it to a test on l.a. fwys or the mountains yet but it shifts well around my city
@@missycolleen yea like i said in the video... i think... i was getting the AT light and i brought it in to the dealership for diagnostic and it cost like 230$ for them to tell me i needed a new tcm and they were going to charge another 1200 to replace it hahaha.... got my tcm for 200-250
Weirdly enough I have 260 000k on my mazda and my Tcm didn't go bad until I was at 256 000, been driving it since .. if you pull over and turn vehicle on and off my light will sometimes turn off and vehicle run good again.. don't be fooled if you have any problem with electric car you not going to be able to fix a damn thing...
dude the only reason anyone is ever gonna watch this video is to see how exactly to access the tcm, you talked way too much about random stuff and ultimately barely showed the process of accessing/removing the tcm, I'm gonna leave a like on your video anyway but it didn't help me and I have to watch other videos, just some some constructive criticism

Right now electric cars can be super expensive to fix. Everything breaks down eventually
You probably live in a colder climate
You don't need to replace the TCM, just reset it.
How do you reset it
i am sure the stealership would have tried that lol
