Yeah, makes me cry, its kinda saddening, but it's also kinda touching. I am cronically ill with a genetic condition that didn't show up as a problem until i was 44. It is hard to explain appreciating life so much, because I have things I need and my little house under the mountains in Colorado is peaceful, and i love my doggie and my dude, but its very hard also feeling trapped in a body that cannot dance or move or any number of things, that it used to do. Those words summarize my life's predicament. I'm glad im alive, more than i ever have been before, and yet, I'm not able to live it in the ways i wish i could.

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. That song gives me goosebumps, makes me smile and emotional at the same time. I feel like Harmony Hall is gonna be a big part of my life. Thanks Vampire Weekend for everything.
I discovered these guys during one of the biggest mental health breakdowns of my life. I'm so happy for their music because it kept me comfort in a time where I needed it.
The production on these tracks are immaculate, and they feel like a progression of their first record with bits of the other 2 sprinkled in. I'm impressed!
So, heard this song for the first time ever today, played it back God knows how many times, and had a good cry for 20 or so minutes. Ended up liking it for how much I can identify with the song's message. Music and songs like this can be very powerful when the right emotion is touched.
I've just realised after several weeks that the line is "the stone walls of HARMONY HALL bear witness" rather than "the stone walls vomited on their witness"
Really!? 316 people thumbs downed this? I think that this is one of their most refined and great songs! Hands-down! I can't stop listening to this! It's like every music era in one song! The lyrics are well-written and relatable. "I don't want to live like this, but I don't want to die." That resonates with me in so many ways! Great job guys! You're one of my all-time favorite bands!
Oh my god, this fills me with joy. It feels like coming home. The callback to Finger Back made me tear up. And I'm getting serious Peter Gabriel "Shaking the Tree" vibes. My heart is so happy listening to this.
Great song on first listen, proper, gentle, bright, this is why I’ve missed them. Wow actually one of the best songs they’ve released, immediately accessible and has well written lyrics
This song feels like summer. The instrumental melody is completely entrancing - gives me such folksy yet '80s pop George Michael vibes. New favorite VW song of the moment.
This goes real smooth, Vampire Weekend's music always seems to have an effortless yet perfect explorative sound. This is a new song yet instantly classic and reminiscent. Sound is a peculiar thing.
I love that their sound is starting to fill out and the arrangements are more lush. The minimalism/stripped down northeast college sound is clever, but they have so much more in their songs and it's nice to hear it evolve. Great tune.
I couldn't be still in my life, I couldn't be present in my life. Until this thing happend to me, that made me present in every moment in my life - it was shaking me awake.
honestly this Sony Audio video is a million times better than the official video that just got released. I love this video and it seems to go perfectly wit the song (to me) which is, to me awesome. I'd have saved the cash and stuck with this version. Y'now, if I were in the band and everything...
I spent six hours today listening to this song on repeat because the wait is finally over, this song is so beautifully amazing and definitely worth the wait
This is one of the best songs I ever heard the vocals are stunning and that guitar is so cool. This band is hit or miss for me but every single second of this song is 10/10
No one cares but I was born in 2001 and my parents have been fans of Vampire Weekend since they started music so I grew up with memories of hearing “A-punk” and “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” blasting through the house as my dad did yard work outside and thinking back to when I was younger days that started like that have always been the best. Lol I remember our TV provider had a music videos on demand feature and we would have our parents replay the A-punk video all the time. My teen years have been filled with a weird depression since I was 14 so hearing new music from Vampire Weekend gives me hope for a good year to come. *EDIT: i got to see them in concert in august:) it was incredible. funny story actually, my mom drove my sister and i past the venue earlier in the day only for us to see a guy standing talking on the phone. sister goes “hey that looks like ezra (lead singer) we get closer and BAM! it is him! we drove past all giddy, i videotaped it but got too nervous because i was 4 feet from a guy who’s voice made my childhood and he was giving me the “i know you’re filming me” face. ended up briefly catching his leg in the video for .01 seconds. if he hadn’t been on the phone i would’ve stopped with my mom and sister and told him what his music meant to me, and of course gotten a picture lol. however i thought it would be rude to interrupt a phone call. i was upset about it for a good portion of the day, hell i was THAT close to meeting him, but now i look back and smile. the concert was amazing. i promised myself i’d see them live and years later i did!*
Ezra, can’t get enough of Harmony Hall! What other song has an Elizabethan piano solo AND an Allman Bros/Grateful Dead guitar section?! An incredible 5 minutes of music! Can’t wait for the new album!
“I don’t wanna live like this, but I don’t wanna die” something about that line hits home
