The ability for making the upcoming sentences in (any) story you narrate, cohesive... Makes every difference in keeping the listener at the edge of their seats. Your ability to pronounce names and places in a foreign accent is truly a gift you share with us. 'Don't look now ' a perfect example. Thank you, Tony. You are a rare and truly talented storyteller of the Old Victorian ways.
Yes!!! This is wonderful on a NC afternoon in the States. I can't even wait for it to get dark, but I'll listen again when I fall asleep tonight. My Chihuahua is terrified of the power tools my husband is using downstairs, so I'm hiding in a bed room upstairs with Whiskeys, shut in with Tony's voice and a creepy tale. Perfect timing, Tony! I'm so grateful.
Had to buy you a coffee for this, but it hasn't shown here so please let me know if you didn't receive it. A masterpiece spooky gothic is my scene and you my favourite storyteller. My Sunday is complete!
Spellbinding, vivid, masterful narration and accents, as always. With hot chocolate and under a pile of warm blankets, Dog Nico and I agree these are too good for sleep. Much needed and appreciated. Thank you, Tony. Again, as always.
I was seriously wondering what could possibly help me ignore my headache, runny nose, and body chills in order to sleep. And once again, it's Tony to the rescue! Tysm 💜
Ah a cryptic episode... I just realised that I never comment on your cover images for the presentations. They are always captivating, but I'm up and off and doing, while I listen that I remember more the story than your artworks. Congratulations on your vampire story being included in an anthology, it has been hard earned and well deserved. ♠️
I have been falling asleep at night for the last week with bits of this beauty entwined into my dreams and it has been wonderful ❤ thank you for your art
Loved your whispering "it was the rats in the walls" So eerie! Listened to every story whilst I alphabetized books on a dreary winter day. H.P. Lovecraft is a favorite, as I am in Providence, Rhode Island
Thanks again for another playlist. I think Sir Arty has a touch of class about his writing. Really good polished stories that keep the reader on the hook until the end. I’m appreciating his work again after a 45 odd year hiatus- this time with more understanding of the nuances of the craft.
@@ClassicGhost Jay rothermel on Substack recently did a piece on The Valley of Fear that got me thinking. I haven’t read it yet but very keen to now. One of Sir Arty’s few novels and has been the seed material for many later works by other writers according to Jay. Trans Atlantic skull duggery involving the Pinkertons etc. Sounds good to me already.
@@ClassicGhost Yeah I figured you were sick. If you ever return to Rats in the Walls (the one time Lovecraft out Lovecrafted himself) please consider celebrating his love of cats by putting one of your personal favorite furry felines into the story.
@@ClassicGhostThank you very much again!! I'm sorry to say that I have come down with either the Flu or a different variety of it, so 2nd time feeling rotten with Flu !!😮 Fever and the aching in my joints!! Fortunately Jasper is looking after me and I hope to be back on my feet soon!! I was just a little bit delirious due to the high temperature, and hence the slightly odd comment!! Rickerby Park is very close to the flat and I would love to bump into you and your Pups there, although Jasper has "Views" about some of the more lively dogs he meets, even though he's very friendly, (He Loves Everyone, Even the Bunnies despite them running away from him, 😅 when he just wants to introduce himself and play!!) I hope that you will be feeling better soon, and the Cold isn't anything worse!! Oh and I'm taking in plenty of fluids, and a couple of paracetamol to keep the temperature and pain in check! ~Make sure that you are doing this also!! Namasté 🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️ Andréa and Jasper. ❤... XxX.... Ps, Sorry for the lengthy reply, I think I might be a little feverish still!🙄
I’m laughing picturing someone trying to come up with a name for this very specific compilation. I do love this little sub-sub-sub genre though, so thanks as always ☺️
Ah…. I needed this. Right up my alley! I keep listening to this audiobook called “the black company!” Pretty low brow, but entertaining. Listen to my song “Vitality”. Bbergster music. Good for posts & memes….. reels. Unscrupulous. 😎. I can’t get a following. Ain’t easy being greasy. 🐝🐝
Welp, Tony, it took me several tries to make it all the way through the stories (due to a combo of exhaustion and your dulcet tones) but I finally heard every word. Truly magnificent performances, all. I love that Lovecraft, it's one of my favorites. The Catacomb and the New Catacomb were both deliciously chilling. But the Horror at Chilton Castle was one of the creepiest stories I've ever heard. Your reading was incredible. KEEP THEM COMING DON'T EVER STOP ❤

Did I miss what would happen to the family should the heir not keep the pact? I can't imagine anything more horrible than the hell they go through.

I think you'll have to ask the author :)
