They all pull air from the same location just above the rad same as factory so I don't see any advantages as far as colder air. A bigger cone filter might allow more air VOLUME, but I don't think volume is a problem with the factory style filter. Drop in a K&N filter in the factory box. But that's if your going bigger turbo only imo

I was really nervous about which cold air intake to buy, I could immediately feel the rpm’s shoot up in every gear and I got slightly better fuel economy. There was more assembly then I thought which was a bummer but 30-45 min install and plenty of RUclips videos I got it, worth it!!!! Some cold air intakes don’t ship to Cali

I have the K&N cool air intake and I absolutely love it!!! Such a great product and looks AND sounds really cool! Also makes a difference with the power gain! This cool air intake is definitely worth it!

I have an AF dynamics and it sounds amazing, like darth vader lol. Also makes your car sound like it has an aftermarket bov. Only thing that sucks is that it doesn't come with a heat shield. But the piping is powder coated red.

Did you notice any gains? I’m trying to figure out what intake to get my mom for Christmas. She loves her si but is ready to start doing some mods. I also trying to find and exhaust that gives some gains without too much noise as this is for an engineer in her 50s that doesn’t want to roll into work being rowdy.
@@tylerhuesman3749 I have the 27WON. I choose it over the PRL because of potential hydrolock if you hit a puddle, plus the filter is close to the top so it's not a pain to get it out to clean. It took about an hour to install, sounds awesome, and looks good.

Some people have successfully turbo charged that engine but you have to know what you’re doing. I strongly recommend heading over to civicx and making an account it’s a forum for 10th gen civic owners lots of nice helpful people there and my suggestion for first mod is always tires, rims and suspension it will instantly change the look of your car I suggest fitment industries for your tires, rims and suspension they offer excellent financing if you can’t afford it right off the bat.
@@qusai606 You can definitely hear the turbo a bit more even after I sound proofed the shit out of my car when all the damn road noise inside finally got to me. It's not screaming loud, but it's noticeable enough to make a lot more people want to race you. I don't know what it is about guys in Dodges that make them want to run with every Civic they come across.

who cares, just get any intake...you dont have to worry for years since the Si is a new car, then when you have to smog just reinstall the stock intake

Unfortunately not, car was put back to mostly stock and sold last week. We still support the EBM community for sure but aren't blazing a trail for it anymore.
It's better to buy the ktuner first since any bolt on mod you do will be negated by the Computer within a 100 miles. Even the turbo psi is automatically regulated according to how dense the air is. On a cold day you'll only get about 16-17 psi when you were getting 19-20 psi in the middle of the summer. The computer will readjust itself to compensate for the increased volume of air to run at factory specs again unless you ktune it.

Most intakes will not perform different from one another based on weather changes like that. I would just choose whatever you think sounds/looks the best!
I know the MAF tubing is different between Si and non-Si, however is there any potential for the MAPerformance Si intake to be made as a non-Si option? While the choice of using metal isn't my favorite due to potential for heatsoaking faster, wrap the tubing up or spray with something to help with heating, and having a heatshield for the filter- I would totally buy one for my 2018 Hatchback. According to some data from PRL, one can expect upwards of 10hp and 10tq throughout the band and 5hp 2tq peak to peak using their Race MAF intake when compared to their Street MAF, and the Street MAF has anywhere between 3-5hp and 4-7tq over stock airbox and filter (with tuning taken into account). While an intake should not be used primarily as a power mod, I won't spend $3-500 on an intake that only hurts my power gains, even if the noise is cool.
The injen intake for 10th gen civics is absolute shit! Their MAF housing was poorly designed and it throws off the fuel trims. Injen intake is bad for these cars.
Yes! But they have thier own separate models specifically made for the 10th gen hatchbacks. Currently, I am running PRL Motorsports "Cobra" Cold Air Intake 1.5T non-SI paired up with a tuned called TSP Stage 1 from Two Step Performance. I have about 7k miles running this setup for about a year now and so far no issues. By the way my car has a CVT transmission.
As long as they have all the available places to him up emission hoses and sensors, it should be fine in most cases. Being CARB compliant only gets you a CARB sticker and makes the intake cost more. Most smog stations these days don't give two shits about a CARB sticker as long as everything in hooked up correctly.
How much are these Si exhaust and intake videos valid for the FK7 Sport? I guess it's basically the same car but I'm not sure about the whole exhaust system.

That metal intake is probably worse than stock. It will heat soak faster than plastic. Most of these are just a waste of money.

PRL sports and MAP looks perfectly good for my 17 si coupe 😌
I recommend the PRL Cobra, the MAPerformance is stainless steel, it gets super hot and the filter is literally next to the engine

Are we sure about using K&N oil filters? Especially on a cold air intake. I went AEM dry filter to be safe.

As long as they have all the available places to him up emission hoses and sensors, it should be fine in most cases. Being CARB compliant only gets you a CARB sticker and makes the intake cost more. Most smog stations these days don't give two shits about a CARB sticker as long as everything in hooked up correctly.
