Is there anything more diverse and beautiful on this planet than the tree. Growing up in a northern climate their is nothing like the smell of a pile of Maple leaves in the fall, it is one of my first sensory memories as a child and one i will take with me to the forest on the other side . Peace

The tree with the THORNS in JAMAICA WI I only know of 1 at my BOARDING SCHOOL IN. SPALDING, we used to remove the large thorns at the base, then we would carve a letterBACKWARS, then use it as a LETTER STAMP, those thorns are sharp. The tree was known as a PRICKLE ALOE TREE, But my first boarding school, had 2 types of SILP PAKOP we were told they were used in very old life preservers, on ships (. BRITISH. ). 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You reminded me of the bristle cone pine trees in Utah. When grown in the valley they grow tall & straight, but up in the mountains where they are native the grow any way but straight like those trees in Spain you mentioned. Also the Morton bay fig tree was really large the last time I saw it over 8 years ago. I'm not sure if it is still alive or not but it was over 100 years old the last time I saw it.

The tree of life was used as a meeting resting point for beduins. Thier camels would rest in its shade. The urine and poo from the animals would feed the tree together with water from the beduins who it was in their interest to protect the tree.

Crooked trees are caused by mud slides in the wild. I see them in Colorado all the time. That area was part of a wet land, by a river possibly, that saw more land erosion 70 years ago than after the war when the entire euro land mass was completely changed for ever.

The ants not only destroy every other plant within several feet of the tree, they attack and sting any animals that comes near the tree.

I encountered the sandbox tree in Trinidad many years ago. Our group had to pass one on our field trips. When it rained on one walk, we took turns moving quickly beneath it to avoid the sap that might fall from above. Good times.

I heard if you boil it into a highly concentrated tea, it can cause hallucenogenic effects, however, I have chewed both flowers and leaves on several different occasions and didn't feel ANY effect, whatsoever.
