One of the greatest bass lines in the history of pop music.
Band on the Run
My favorite Paul McCartney & Wings song
IT’s genius !!
One of Paul's very best. Of all the Beatles. Paul McCartney always had the best production value. He was and IS a perfectionist and his recordings show that. And, by the way, that is Paul's wife, Linda, singing background vocals. She had a great voice. Even Michael Jackson commented to Paul how much he enjoyed her vocals on his music. He asked Paul who the female vocalist was not knowing it was Linda.
Paul McCartney is one of greatest musicians of my lifetime.
Paul’s playing the piano! Great song. Thank you.
He's a master
Great reaction! Listen To What The Man Said is also great as well as Maybe I'm Amazed.
Jet was a great one, too.
Paul made a lot of happy people and money with his love songs. Paul was brilliant, songwriting, production, self taught guitar player. I believe Michael Jackson and Paul did play a song together.
Yes, it was “Say Say Say” released in 1983, give or take a year.
MJ and Paul did 3 songs together. The Girl is Mine (off Thriller), The Man and Say Say Say (off Pipes of Peace). Say Say Say was a No 1 hit.
Biggest hit of 76
And that's his wife and fellow band mate, the "Lovely Linda" (as John called her) McCartney. She's got a beautiful voice, and it works perfectly with her husband's vocals in this song.
Yes she told him to get his butt up he was Paul McCartney. I don't really get into celebrities lives but my mom didn't name me after him and I did follow in my whole life and I did cry when she passed I feel so sorry for him. When that happens and she was an animal activists and did a lot of wonderful things for the people
Very popular song when I was young. It's contagious😂😂 Sang it down the halls in high school ❤
This came out when I was in 7th grade. There are so many great songs from 1977-1978. It makes me feel young again. I could give you a list of songs that are just like this from back then. This is a masterpiece
Nineteen Hundred Eighty Five, by Paul and Wings. You’ll love it.
Now you know why his old friend and ex writing partner John Lennon nicknamed him "The Mighty McCartney"! One of the great concert bands from the 70's!
You might want to look at this LIVE performance of "SILLY LOVE SONGS" from Paul's 1976 "WINGS OVER AMERICA" tour (which I attended when he played Detroit in May of '76) This is from "ROCK SHOW" which is the complete concert he performed on that tour and was shown in the movie theaters a few years later. ruclips.net/video/HwKUaYBUYNc/видео.html It is now on DVD and can also be seen here on You Tube, the entire concert, and is also broken up to specific songs from the concert, here on You Tube, like this one is. ENJOY. It's ALWAYS fun to see Paul perform LIVE.
THIS!!!!! So jealous that you were at the show! He played that insane bass, while at the PEAK of his vocal performance, while also MESMERIZING the crowd all at the same time. HOW?
the sound is really amazing I agree.
Gives me goosebumps! Lots of memories! Not about love coz I was too young!
One of the best bass lines in pop music.
:-)
Yeah man , made start playing bass. So sticky sweet
Yep, Paul was in love.
The band was known at the time as "Paul McCartney and Wings". It had several different lineups before Paul dissolved it in 1980, and went completely solo.
Sing the "silly love song" to your wife next St. Valentine - lol ! Yes it was Paul's wife who was also singing. Unfortunately she died of breast cancer - so whether you sing well or not, SING !!!
I love you putting your producer had on, Anwar! My day just went from good to great!
MAGIC SONG! Awesome Bass!!!
Paul writes and sings in so many varied styles and genres of music. Check out the entire Wings Over America 1976 concert video--fantastic! (He and Michael Jackson had a big hit together in the 80's--Say Say Say.)
This was a great program Mug! Like I'm telling you man, with this program, my day INSTANTLY improved 100%!
This is an awesome song by the GOAT! Love seeing the smile on your face knowing that you love it too!
Love this song, and I love Paul so much ❤❤
More Paul McCartney reactions, please!
That’s Paul on bass! Paul and MJ made songs together! Say Say Say on video!!!!!
The band is Wings,of which his wife Linda was a part. And yes, it went #1.
The #1 song of 1976
reminds me of my first love, loved your appreciation and reaction!
Thank you so much!!
The core of Paul McCartney & Wings is Paul , his wife Linda & Denny Laine , formerly of the Moody Blues . The band had other revolving membership , but those 3 were in all iterations of the band until Paul went totally solo . The album this is from "At the Speed of Sound" had a few hit singles & was one of the bands most popular albums . If you want to see the band in action , the concert movie "Wings Over America" is worth looking into . Many of McCartney & Wings biggest hits with a nice mix of some of Paul's Beatles songs thrown in . The opening song of the Concert / Movie , "Venus & Mars / Rock Show" is a great place to start 🙂
Listen to the live version (which I posted 2 days ago). I've always loved this song, simple and cheery !
Love this❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great Reaction 👍🙏💯😎
Thanks 💯
that bass, man...what a sound. so prominent in the mix and it sounds great
Mugs, MJ and Paul and Linda made a beautiful video that was a hit called Say, Say, Say! Check it out!
I’m sure people have told you by now that this song was in response to Lennon saying McCartney only wrote love songs (a lie, he was jealous of Paul’s success.) Take that John. It is the first song I remember hearing in my life. (So happy that my parents were Beatles fans :) And I love Wings. AND, Paul delivered the greatest bass line you’ll ever hear. There will never be another McCartney 🫶🏽
John was crazy jealous of Paul. Paul could crank out great songs, and NEVER stopped playing shows to sold out crowds. Paul is 82 and EASILY selling out arenas for 3 hour shows with ABSOLUTELY NO BREAK WHATSOEVER. John knew he could NEVER sell tickets like that. John was unable to go onstage alone.
@@loosilu Yep. I saw Paul for the first time in the summer of 2022 on the first leg of his ‘Get Back’ tour. It was 3 straight hours. I cried through most of it. He’s still got it.
"Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs \ And what's wrong with that?" -- "Silly Love Songs" was Paul McCartney's biggest hit with Wings. It topped the charts in 1976. I heard it on the radio so often back then when I wasn't yet ten that merely reading the name can start the song playing in my head even now approaching 50 years later -- that bass line, the melody, those harmonies, the horn riffs, the disco string arrangements. Even so, new things stand out to me when I listen to it again, like the piano section towards the end, or Denny Laine's counterpoint, or Linda McCartney's voice on the "I love you" counter melodies which add a bittersweet touch to the song all these decades later. For a rocked out banger from Wings, check out "Junior's Farm". PS. Denny Laine plays the piano on this, according to the liner notes, but Paul McCartney was known for playing all the instruments on some of the songs he recorded back then. The album was recorded at Abbey Road, London. PPS. You can bet MJ added that "woah" whenever he heard this on the radio and then went for something like that later on in his own work.
“Skating Ring Music” 😂
Time for some R E O Speedwagon! 😜
Hey bruh!! If they can re master " Gone with the Wind!!" and that was in the '30's you know to do that with music from the '70's is nothing!!👂🏾😏👌🏾
no not me, glad to know I'm always on your mind lol.
LOL
And don’t forget the sickest baseline.
Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London
Yes please
Paul plays EVERYTHING. He's the band. Lennon was publicly trashing him, saying Paul was writing dumb love songs, and no one cares about that any more. This song was the #1 song of 1976.
He should had pointed you to the video.
The most melodic Beatle for sure. Check out "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey".
A great song. All because John Lennon ribbed him that all he wrote was ‘Silly Love Songs’
This was a Diss track at John Lennon….. John told Paul that he’s obsessed with making love song so Paul double downed with this gem !! This track spent 5 weeks at #1 on the Billboard top hundred (1976) and was the #1 pop song at years end ❤️
#lindamccartney
Oh man !!! This song takes me bavk to manhatten beach i was a kid and my brother and i were WILD ! we went to a small party where we sat around a round table and this guy had a envelope with this white powder in it and we each got a glass of water and he distributed the white powder in each of our water ...at first we all just started laughing at each other !!! I had to go to the bathroom but when i opened the bathroom door a big dog lunged at me !!! I told the 'guy' and he said " i dont have a dog " we all laughed again !!! We kept getting higher and higher !!!! And i started getting really scared ! I thought that i was speeding through space and that i was going to explode into particles and disappear into infinity ! Everytime i ever heard yhat song " mama told me not to come " i think about that night. My older brother went on down that road and ended up overdosing 30 years ago . I stopped and didnt continue going down that road with him ....but everytime i hear that song i think of that party and that night .
❤️🇧🇷🙏
John called a lot of his pieces, silly love songs. This is his response.
John had severe jealousy issues. He spent the last 10 years of his life obsessively scouring McCartney's albums for references and messages to himself. He publicly complained that Paul didn't print his lyrics. He always made certain to print his lyrics (trying to get Paul to react). Do your own math lol
Speaking of Michael Jackson, you should do their duet Say Say Say if you haven't already.
Just saying!!................... Collaboration!!🤫🎓👌🏾
If you enjoy this song then try Paul’s personal love letter to his wife in “Maybe I’m Amazed”
Check out the LIVE version of this song. He is playing that bass line, and SINGING it, and also working the arena crowd all at the same time. And it sounds BETTER than this!
McCartney for melodies, Lennon for lyrics - gotta put 'em together or they get silly and sarcastic respectively
Typical McCartney post Beatle pop garbage
HEY LOVE THIS SONG.
Well I know I'm pretty sure Paul is playing piano but I could be wrong because I know that Linda played keyboards and guitar as well and I don't remember the other people I have these CDs I'm not digging it out LOL
