PC-DMIS Snapshots | PC-DMIS Tech Tips - CMMXYZ

This Tech Tip Video from CMMXYZ looks at a brand new reporting tool called “Snapshots" for PC-DMIS 2018 R2. Now, simply press the camera icon on the Graphic Modes tool bar to instantly create a report snapshot.
Hey. So, PC-DMIS 2018 R2 is now officially released. And I just wanted to make this quick video to show you a couple of my favorite features. And particularly, the new one called snapshots. And this is meant to replace the old captured screenshot which you can find in the Report Command menu. So, you can see it down there. So that's the old way. So, they've added a new addition to this version, and you can see it up here. It's the camera button. And you can see the tooltip tells you "Insert Snapshot." Really nice function.
In the past, we used to use Viewsets, creating Viewsets, recalling them to include on our report. So now what we can do is hit the camera button, and this dialog pops up. So, we can name it at this point. So, we can say "FULL SCREEN." Okay. And you'll notice in the Edit Window there's a command line, which is great because what that means is we can actually edit that. So, I'll first show you what that looks like just as is. So, I'll just go to my Report window, refresh. And you can see that's the new screen capture.
So let's say we didn't like that. We wanted it to rotate or to change that. So, we can't edit in this screen here. But, what we can do, and this is one of my favorite new features, is edit this command. So right-click, "Edit," or hit F9 on your keyboard. So, we can edit the name. And also, we can edit the view. We can move the labels, whatever we want. So, it doesn't create a new one. It replaces the existing ones. So let's hit OK. Doesn't change the graphic screen here but it does change the image on our report which is what we want. See that?
So it's a great new feature. Just a reminder that in the reporting, they've also added the thumbnail images over here. It's called the Preview Pane. So that's new to 2018 R2 as well. So, you can quickly toggle between your screens, your pages. I only have two. But if you had a whole bunch, this would be pretty handy. And we can hide that as well. Okay. So just a quick little demo of a new feature. It's the "Insert Snapshot" option, and it looks like a camera. Okay. So, hope you found that useful. Thanks for joining me. And we'll see you next time.
