Fell in love with it because of how the neck feels. Always had problems with my small hands while trying out other guitars, and dreamed about sliding fast through the notes, with my hand sliding perfectly. Lucky me I tried it at the store by accident, as I was searching for a flying-v, and as soon as I grabbed the neck and my index finger and thumb touched, I KNEW it had to be mine. The Exotic Spalted Mapple finish slays!
Hi I read you have small hands as do I. It’s super frustrating to say the least! I’m a huge Eddie fan and I want to get this guitar but in the special. Any feedback would be appreciated thanks.
Had mine in chlorine burst for about 18 months, love it to bits. Solid guitar, no QC issues. All I did to the set up was increase the spring tension on the floyd and haven't touched it since. Great review.
I really respect your guitar reviews and although I already own one of these in Northern lights colour and absolutely love it, bought on the back of other great reviews I wanted to hear your opinion. Before watching I sort knew you'd like it, and that makes me feel happier about my investment and gives me more confidence in my ability to know a decent guitar when I play one. Thanks Elmo keep up the good work.
I just bought a Northern Lights Wolfgang yesterday. It is one of nicest fnishes I've ever seen. It caught my eye in the music store and I Impulse bought it lol. No regrets though, it plays as nice as it looks and those wolfgang pickups are mind blowing.
My top two guitars are my EVH Special and Charvel Pro Mod. The necks are great. Set up is a bit more involved but worth it. The other ‘must have’ is the D-Tuna for the bridge - love it, love it, love it.
I got one 3 years ago. The neck had 2 little blemishes around the 15th fret that caused lots of problems. I was a little irritated that it left the factory like that. But, I was more pissed that I got it from Sweetwater and their 55pt inspection missed it. But, they gave me a new guitar. I loved the neck. Just an all around great feel. But, then I bought a Music Man Cutlass and a PRS Vela, and didn't want to play the EVH anymore. Sold it for more than I paid, so lucky me!
Really great guitar, I’ve owned mine for a year now. Only thing is, within only a year I’m starting to see a fair amount of fret wear. There’s actually a dimple forming underneath the high e string as well. Other than that the pickups sound amazing and the neck is awesome. The body shape is also something I love
@@MrPolevaulter Ended up getting one, the "brilliant guitar" line really swung it for me. This thing is insanely playable, amazing value for the spec aswell
I just bought one of these and I love it. I always stayed away from buying a wolfgang as I wasn't a fan of the body shape. But I must say it is a great sounding guitar that is very comfortable and easy to play. the oil finished neck feels amazing. The pickups are quite hot but have a nice balanced full tone from the alnico magnets.
Just played one today, and you are right on about the pick ups. For that price point, you usually have to do some pick up upgrades. ..but not necessary on these guitars.
That sounds like an awesome guitar. I've never really thought about getting an Indonesian-made guitar but that was really surprising. Might have to invest in one! And your playing skills are amazing.... I really enjoy listening to your riffs.. sometimes I get confused whether it's you or Van Halen playing hahaha
At Sweetwater here in the US in solid white it's 699.00 US and in flame top veneer it is 749.00 US. I'm not sure what trem it is. Either a Floyd Rose special or gotoh branded EVH trem made for this guitar. If the later a good trem. If the neck is the same shaped as the original it's a symmetrical which I personally love. It's a 2 piece maple roasted neck as you mentioned. It sounds great and I like how the pickups seem to respond to your nuanced playing. Very cool. I wish I had my old Peavey USA special. It was purple and was a killer guitar. These guitars are nice kn that they are compact and yet full sized. I also dig the alinco 2 pickups which I think make a difference in that they cut off some of the annoying highs inherently. Just my two pence. Great video as usual sir. Always great playing and reviews on this channel. That trem stuff at the end was killer!!! 🤟♥️🤣 I think these are a great deal for the money. Thanks brother. Hope all is well and I hope you had a good Christmas and have an even better New Year. Maybe this damn satanic pandemic will end finally sometime in 22. ♥️🤟♥️🤟
Fantastic playing my brotha 🤘I watched this video I think for the fifth time NOW as I am ADDICTED to my new Wolfgang standard!! I can't get enough of this damn guitar.. you demonstrated this guitar fantastic!! GREAT JOB!! I agree with you on pickup selector switch as I have been hitting it lately.. only thing I am going to mod is switch the Floyd special with an original Floyd Rose made in Germany that I have had since late 80s.. I think the saddles on the stock special are too soft and I m having minor tuning issues.. HOWEVER this guitar is a no untouchable for $749 US dollars in my opinion.. 🤘🤘🤘👏 keep playing
I like your reviews because you say what you really think about the gear. LOVE your videos. Carry on man. I've got that same guitar and it's really, really nice.
💪😎👍 What a great review, sir! Superb playing & excellent choice of riffs, it's cool how you worked Yngwie & Queen in there, as Brian & Eddie were friends and Yngwie respected EVH greatly. Cool sweatshirt U have on, too! I'm a huge Queen fan, into a European heritage much more than native American bluesy stuff (but Moore was also a nice touch there - Still Got The Blues!) 💙

These guitars have a cool sound that I've noticed in all the demos I've watched. It's like they're chimey and articulate, bright and crisp without being shrill. I guess that would be due to the pickups.
The noodling:review ratio seem spot on to me. Thanks! I mean essentially, if you've got about five hundred quid and want a guitar with two humbuckers, you should get one of these :-D
Nice review as always.. my same opinion.. nothing to complain about.. have a Peavey Wolfgang standard which has a fantastic neck but no arm carve and I get a groove on my pick arm.. was looking for another beater in the same genra.. this may fit the bill.. even used must be a great value.. cheers Elmo!

Great demo with a real Marshall! Looks and sounds WAY better than many pricier guitars out there! If that thing came in that awesome blue green without the half black, I would be all over it! Also, I've heard you can't refret a cooked neck due to chipping and splintering. Something to consider.
I got one in black for crazy cheap, like 300 bucks, off proaudiostar in 2018. Man, how times have changed! It’s my Floyd guitar, I use it mainly for 80s stuff but it is RIDICULOUSLY heavy sounding
The Van Halen's mother, Eugenia, was an Indo (Eurasian: European and Indonesian ancestry) from Rangkasbitung on the island of Java in the Dutch East Indies. It makes sense then that some EVH guitars are made in Indonesia...

I highly recommend getting a push in bar upgrade from Floyd rose- i found on the Wolfgang, the screw in bar just didn’t do what i needed it to do as far as how tight, or loose it “flopped” about. The push in bar upgrade has been awesome. I can move the bar wherever i want, and installation took literally minutes… They are like 15.00
I was really surprised how much it stayed in tune after all that whammy abuse. Heard a lot of people saying the particular Floyd Roses on these models was notorious for not being able to stay in tune so well. Do you feel that maybe this sentiment is exaggerated?
