Taming tip: You need to attack the Giga enough for it to go into rage mode. It will then start stomping you, which gives way more torpidity. The double stomp is what you're aiming for.
Also if it KOs via the stomp it'll have no food and insta-tame. Unsure if that's intended, but it's a great way to tame them. Using something small and fast, intentionally raging it with a weapon, then when it does its rage animation get under its feet to get it to stomp. Do that twice and you're done!
Also, you can use the double stomp yourself when in rage mode by pressing spacebar. It does good dps and hits almost everything in a radius, unlike the bite. :) P.S. the back tail swipe also does 1.5k torpor when taming the Giga. Try to get behind it while it's enraged for insane torpor gain!
Oh, another thing. The Giga doesn't do more or less damage when you bite to the side. Only does less damage with the back tail swipe. Hope this helps. :)
Another hint if you run and make the Giga run it will do less damage. I was able to tame a level 290 with a croc with 60000 health and a 110 armor saddle by running the whole time
On the mod page it says that they nerfed the Gigas torpor gain to 500 per bite as it was gaining way too much before. And gigas tend to have a torpor of around 120k on diff 6. It’s nothing to do with the saddle, just letting the Giga nom on you for an exceptionally long time. A Giga with 120k torpor will take approximately 240 bites to get knocked out, and I tamed a paleo Giga with awesome spyglass, they don’t lose torpor if they stop biting you, they also become hyper fixated on you once you give them the heart, they’re quite scary when they don’t leave you alone.
@@infpdreams I have not tested it out, but I’m going to say that it won’t work, the Giga only gains torpor from biting (and stomping in fury mode), giving it multiple targets to bite doesn’t change much, you’ll just have less creatures to tank with.
@@FeuerToifelas a dev on the paleo mod, i can tell you if you enrage the giga (like you should) the stomp attack does 5k torpor per hit meaning it needs to stomp you about 20 times to knock out. Easy tame :)
Syntac, the giga gets the same amount of torpor regardless of the dmg it does to you, but I do know that the giga recently had a patch to make it receive less torpor per bite
A good stat, imprinted Carcha with 100~ stacks of bloodrage + Wyvern milk is probably one of the best taming mounts for EVO giga's. Their massive HP regen @ 100 stacks, plus force feeding food keeps their HP high while getting smacked by Giga. Plus they can easily enrage the giga if you want the faster knockout.
they take 500 torpor/bite. So you need tank atleast around 200 bites. So using insanely mutated shadowmane instead of unmutated reaper and switch dino in the last part is very recommended
Hey Syntac, you could use the mod Bitou2k's Binocular. It has a similar effect as using HLNA on Genesis, but from a distance. And it requires you to actually have the binocularus out, unlike Awesome Spyglass. A great way to check dino's stats and torpor. Just like using the HLNA feature. Also there is a mod called HLNA Everywhere, it adds HLNA to all maps, with a configurable shop. Same features as the genesis HLNA with teleports, shop, hexagons and dino scan. EDIT: Neither mod show the points into dino stats like the Soul Terminals. Shows stats as they appear in the inventory screen.

Hey Syntac! Just decided to sacrifice half a terabyte and reinstall ark thanks to your videos lol. I was messing around with some of the server settings while trying to imprint a baby Dino and made some discoveries I didn’t see anything about online. If you want to get a quick and easy 100% imprint, follow these steps Make sure cuddle interval is at 0.01 before the egg hatched Let the care timer run down to 0 Exit game before fulfilling request change cuddle interval to max Fulfill request and get 100% imprint within 40 seconds Not sure if anyone else knows about this but I thought I’d share and save everyone a lot of time!
I’ve had to do this to imprint gigas when I realized my timer wasn’t going to let me get them fully imprinted. Took a little experimenting with but def works.
@@sSpaze_yt I guess it depends on how you look at it. I don't have a massive amount of time to spend in ark so I shorten timers a bunch to get to the content I want to play. I still do the process of taming, imprinting, etc. I just shorten the time it takes to do those things.
When taming the paleo giga, get it to go enraged as it does double torpor and each enraged stomp does like 10x the torpor. Also something I noticed is if it gets knocked out when enraged, when that buff goes away it goes down to like 0 food immediately so it makes a quicker tame
So the giga deals 500 torpor to itself with each bite. And 1000 (i think) with each stomp when in rage mode. Your armor doesnt do anything so no worries. Basically take the torpor multiply by 2 and divide by 500. So for a giga with 120k torpor your looking at like 200+ bites.
That reaper is the coolest one I’ve seen. I never really messed with them a ton because I quit playing shortly after Ab came out and started playing again with Extinction. Also, there are Paleo Spinos and they are awesome!
the taming method for the Paleo Giga reminds me of that one Spongebob episode where a bully tries to beat Spongebob up while Spongebob barely pays his punches any mind until the bully eventually drops from exhaustion, especially with that moment at 34:43 XD
I tamed a level 140 paleo giga with a high lvl Mek, it wasn’t all that hard but here’s the strategy I used I used the gun to damage the giga and enrage it, once it was enraged it did the double stop which I discovered does WAY more torpor than their bites. Unfortunately you need to be very close to them to get the giga to stomp, but the mek can boost backwards fast enough to dodge it and the stomp really only deals damage in front of it and not the sides. It really ends up looking like a mek & giga duet with no music but it didn’t take long at all and I ended up not taming the giga because I had gigas at home (Charchas) but it was an engaging fight and I’m still looking around for max levels to tame

To ko it faster, you have to hit it until it goes into its rage. You'll know its there when it does the same roar as when it challenges you. Ive tried this a couple times with the awesome spyglass mod and the torpor goes up about 4.5k more per bite. The rage does wear off adventually tho.

Oh taming these in ASA will be challenging, since we won’t be seeing wyvern milk till December (or was it November 🤔) arrives with the scorched earth dlc map to get the wyvern milk 😅 And ASA will support mods so those who are new to ark, the developers behind these mods confirm that it will be free mod to download both Ark additions mod and Paleo Ark mod
Making it go into rage mode helps to knock it out faster because it gets more torpor with tge stomps and with normal bites in rage mode (I saw it getting 10k with stomps sometimes)
A god teir rex with a stupidly good saddle would definetly be the way to go with these guys just cause of how much hp you can get combined with the saddle armor
Can confirm antidote negating bleed, got my gen1 kill that way, but I think that was a bug cause they did take that out some time after I beat it to my knowledge. Haven't tested since cause I don't use the antidote ever.

syntac been watching your video's for ages iv had long covid for just about 2 years now and your video's have helped me loads, I've been playing ark with following your video's on all the same maps but I can never get the settings right and I tried copy and pasting the settings from steam but they don't seem to work, i don't know if its because im on host local and not a server but I cant find any fixes so I thought id ask, thank you for your video's there awesome.

looks like it got nerfed too hard. feel like it should be more like 150 bites instead of the 200.

Just a little tip Syntac; you can feed your tames lesser antidote which will stop the bleeding effect and any other negative side effects.

Syntac did try to knock it out using tranqs. I know this is process to do it. Can you try knocking it out with tranqs one time
You should get a Rex or something and pump all the levels into health. If you also have to wyvern, it’ll take two rexes.

speaking of milk, you can just drink it (or give your creature) before you bleed. no need to wait for being hurt, just chug it down.
