Im in the minority here, but i'd rather sign no player than the wrong player just because were desperate. Anges tenure has been spent unwrangling the mistakes of signing the wrong players in the 5 years prior to his appointment: mostly agent driven, good, but not great players on big wages that have sat out their contracts and created a farcical situation with squad registration restrictions. It made sense to wait out Kolo Muani because there was no risk as it was a dry loan but commiting serious funds to a player to fill a short term need is risky unless they were already part of the long term plan imho
I dont think AP gets a pass on signing the right players simply cause he has been so busy sorting out the signings of the last 5 years? He simply IDs the players he can work with and the Club work to offload the deadwood. Equally he should have given the Club a short list of players / positions he needs to strengthen and again the Club do the rest....or thats what a decent Club Football club would do as opposed to an investment Company. The very fact that we are halfway through a transfer window and the Club have accelerated the signing of a young GK tells you all you need to know - THFC is not a serious Football Club. I would need hard evidence to convince me that AP even knew who half our recent young signings even were. The ENIC MO is clear that we will only sign players if they represent a financial investment - forget the notion that we might sign someone we need. AP has absolutely no interest in Coaching players like Poch used to do. You only need to look at his Coaching resources (frankly shameful) and that long list of players he has improved to suggest that he has no interest here. AP will run these kids into the ground and we all know where this will end
Thanks as ever, Tom. Your channel is a real go to as far as Spurs fans are concerned. Like your enthusiasm and positivity around the Cup Competitions. I suspect Archie Gray, as you say, will start as a CB with Davies on the bench in case of emergency! Really hope they use the extra day wisely …
Hi Tom. January window is a mare as you are not getting in form players. We were spoilt with Pratici's Kulu and Bentancur special in Jan 22. I just think apart from Solanke, our front players are either knackered, out of sorts or just cack and we need a winger/attacker to add some firepower asap. It's all getting a bit serious now. You can tell the mood has changed in the last week. Even your delivery is bit more sombre.
Yep, but he can be useful off the bench in stretching teams, been the odd Johnson back-post goal as a result of one of his balls across, admittedly not too many
Signing players up to a standard required 🤔 Just wondering with this need for more players in EL squad, wonder if Dane Scarlett comes back (club trained for addn number in EL squad). Oxford apparently signed another striker, why? And where does that leave Dane?
Werner playing well? Lol When? Levy isn't gonna help Ange. Davies left back, Spence right back. Bissouma 6 Bergval 8 Kulu 10 Richie left wing Solanke 9 Moore right wing. Bissouma better perform instesd of making brain dead errors. Porro, Son, Johnson, Maddison bench.
I agree with Tom. Ben Davies is a centre back for Spurs these days and has performed well there. We see more likely to see Gray at RB and Spence at LB (or vice versa). We need forwards to relieve the exhausted Kulu, Solanke and Son. Tottenham defend from the front and the forwards, in Ange's system required to run, harry, run, press and run some more.
I don't pay attention to the rumours, it allows me to retain my balance. We chase and hang around for players who will never come to spurs its smoke and mirrors for most of the time by levy and the board, Something ,Ange seems to have bought into
Moyes will take Everton down - they are now one of the three worst teams in the Prem. It'll be interesting to see how we do against them... Thanks as always, Tom. Very much enjoyed the podcast btw

I think most would agree but there must be some right, available players out there

Thanks very much. I know it’s tough right now but if they can somehow get through against Liverpool…

Ha, sombre mood unintentional - consciously, at least!
Werner was okay vs city in the cup but poor every other game. Suspect Bissouma’s knock was to his pride.
Yep, but he can be useful off the bench in stretching teams, been the odd Johnson back-post goal as a result of one of his balls across, admittedly not too many
Don’t think Muani was a good fit but knew we’d never get him anyway. We don’t move like a club trying to win anything anymore
TRUE so true just a small upgrade to Timo
Signing players up to a standard required 🤔

Hmmm, think he could come back but then possibly be loaned again. Not sure he’s good enough… yet
Cheers Tom
No worries
Kinsky is cup tied in Europa League, so it will be Forster or Austin. Not sure who Ange will go with
Yeah, for the group stage at least
@ So does cuptied status reset when you can make changes for the knockout phase? One thing I don't know.
Yep, it’s a new rule
@ Lovely! Thanks for getting back to me

Interesting, I don’t see Davies at LB much anymore for Ange, but maybe

Can understand that

Hmm not sure I agree re Everton, think Moyes will sort them out. And thanks v much!
Get the don consultant to get to work. The new recruitment team is not great
