  • I've decided that its finally time to make a proper makers mark / stamp for my knives, and other projects. These things are also known as touch marks or punch stamps, but their use is pretty straight forward; to stamp and sign metal and leather! Making this thing ended up being a lot more difficult than expected, forcing me try a couple different approaches, but we managed to pull it off! If you've got any questions feel free to ask in the comments!

While file and dremel is fun to use, I find that for making complicated touch marks it's just easier to etch the negative of the design on your stamp.

All the hard way through the process and swearing like an old pirate - the stamp looks fantastic and was fun to watch :) Looks like these holes in your gloves are telling an interesting story on itself!? :D

What's the point in having gloves if you can't use them to their full extent😉

I feel your pain bro! I’m in the middle of exactly the same project, we both had exactly the same problems. Dremel tools are so hard to control right. I’d almost finished when I slipped and cut of half my mark... 🤦🏻‍♂️

It's absolutely brutal, I think if I had to do it again I'd use acid or electrolysis to etch in the design instead of carving it

Heat it up and burn it in wood.
