    I had worsening middle back pain for over three weeks after twisting my spine doing strenuous mechanical work. I thought I would need to consult an orthapedic surgeon. I tried your foam tube for about 20 minutes. Felt somewhat better immediately. Next day I felt even better. 2nd day after rolling on the foam I felt absolutely no back pain. Absolutely amazing!!!! You guys should be so proud of the wonderful impact you have on all the thankful people you will probably never meet.

    I got dressed with the help of my wife and moved to the bed too.

    Worked SO incredibly well! I was having intense spasms in my mid back area and I was using a tens unit to get me through the night until I could see my chiro the next day- but my daughter’s birthday party was the next day and I needed to be a great host for her and our friends and family and after a few prayers, I remembered these amazing guys and BOOM! Such a release in what felt like my sternum area and immediately flared down those spasms! Whoa! Literally instantaneous, miraculous relief! So glad I searched "Thoracic back pain", and found this. 2 days ago, I strained a muscle in my Thoracic spine area. The muscle that runs parallel to our spine, on the left side. Its sooo swollen, and feels like a rock. I can't take deep breaths, and I HAVENT SLEPT IN 2 DAYS...2 WHOLE DAYS, because everytime my body wants to turn to its side, I am jolted awake with extreme pain. The spasms are THE WORST. I literally cannot breath when they happen. I now have numbness and that weird itching going on that our muscles do when they're pulled. What's worse is, now that I'm "favoring" my left arm (injury on left side), and trying so hard not to cause a spasm, now other parts of my back are beginning to hurt badly. I told myself, "Oh HELL NO, this ends here, look up healing exercises and stretches!" Wish me luck guys, as I'm so utterly exhausted, that I'm even having chest heaviness..because my poor heart is so tired, needs me to be in sleep mode.
    Update...OMG, I woke up a new woman! I made the DIY Towel roll, and used it. It was painful at first, but not in a bad way, and not for very long. My spine popped in a few places with the most wonderful release! The "rock" that was there began to relax and after lay on it for 20 mins...I subsequently slept for 10 hours!!! And I woke up feeling great! I'm going to use it again now in hopes that I can avoid what I went through in the last 3 days...hellish pain. Thank you so much for this video, you have no idea what you've done for me!! ❤

The relief was so wonderful to feel, that I wanted to share my experience. I am still healing, and still utilize my "towel roll", and it hasn't failed me yet. This sounds exactly like what I'm going through and yeah, mine's mostly on the left side. good video and description. It's so important for people to stretch and foam roll. It's very easy to forget that our bodies, slowly over time and also depending on what job we have are put through a lot and need to be taken care of. Then on top of that if we work out we put it through more stress. Stretching and foam rolling are highly needed especially the older we get.

    I strained my back at the gym doing squats- could barely breath hurt so bad. After watching these guys and rolling the sh!t out of my back like they suggested (almost to the point of passing out from the pain) my back was as good as new the next day. No joke my muscle strain was so bad I thought I was gonna be hurt for 2 weeks, and I was back at the gym in 1 day. These guys are the best. Beyond that if you get prescribed physical therapy, save yourself the copay and just look these guys up, and do what they tell you. Never need any complicated expensive equipment.

    I'll give this a try. I've been getting aches in my mid back the past couple years and I attribute it to poor posture (my job requires me to hunch over an art desk 90% of my work day). When I was younger this was never a problem, I could maintain that posture all day. But now that I'm older I'm starting to feel the strain.

    • @kylereese458
      @kylereese458 4 года назад

      The human body is not designed to sit for long periods, never mind hunched over a desk, like so many people have been over the last 30 years. Add in stooping neck posture from long term phone use which is prevalent from a very young ages now, young people today are going to have very bad spines when they are older. We can all get away with poor posture in teenage years and into our 20's. Usually these things start to come out in someone's 30's if they have been doing it for a while, then it gets worse with time. In your case you can prevent further damage by trying to increase back mobility, strength and correct your posture as much as you are able to during the day. When I am in the office I am sure to get up and have walk around at least every hour, it definitely makes a difference.

      get an x-ray, maybe you have a compression fracture of one or more of your thoracic vertebrae. Rule that out first.

    Really good video. I believe I may have torn muscles or tendons in my mid back - it was so painful I couldn't move for almost 2 weeks. What is the best way to go about the healing process and subsequent strengthening exercises for that area. Can you give me an idea of how long these kinds of injuries take to heal? I can do most things normally once again, but my muscles often feel "tired" there and am thinking they aren't quite finished recovering.

    Hi Bob and Brad,
    Have you ever shared some exercises to help with DISH. I recently diagnosed with this ad a result of some sharp knee buckling pain while playing golf. Interestingly it happens with small swings, not big ones, but then back becomes unstable for the rest of the day. Looking for your help. Love your videos and used them frequently.

    I strained my back tonight at the gym doing squats (mid/thoracic), and tried the first exercise and no lie; I heard a small "pop" from my back, just as he said would happen. I can now move my torso from left to right, bend down at the hip, and pick up my bike without pain. Foam rolling worked like magic. I think I'll go back to the gym now. LOL

    I had pain and tightness there ( mid upper spine in between my left shoulder blade or spine back in 2018. And I popped it over and over until one day I popped it so hard in my car that I lost a lot of my proper functioning muscles on almost all my upper left side. It is now very difficult to flex / feel my upper left pec, left bicep and tricep, left shoulder. Only a chuck fires and also most my left lat and rhomboid. I hope someone sees this and can give me advice on what may have happened. It’s been 5 years and there has been absolutely no sign of recovery and even got slightly worse a few months ago when I popped it by accident again. The skin on most my left side is also become less sensitive but not numb. It’s hard to describe 😢 I’m miserable every day since. I still go workout have been since 2013. But have trained around it when it happened in 2018

    Your voice isn't clearly audible. I have an issue about back fatigue at mid back level. not pain; the area around the spine seems to be affected ; it is like someone would feel tired, exhausted, requiring rest; later when I sit upright for some time I get relief. Could you please suggest a diagnosis.

    You guys are the best physical therapists on the internet. That is just my opinion, of course. Anyway, I have been having mid-back spasms every couple of days for a few weeks. They come out of nowhere and last about 15 seconds. There is mild, residual soreness. The location is just left of my spine by a couple of inches and slightly above elbow level. I'm not sure if the video's therapy addresses that kind of problem or if it is more for spine/disk problems.

    I have a job that had me bend over a lot. I’m a tall guy and it really starts to hurt by the end of my shifts. What can I do to build the strength to do my job. Or how I can move in a way that prevents the pain.
    This works. I foam roll everyday after work.

      *****
      hmm I read like hyper exentsion probems? that's why it slowly builds up months by months, doesn't start instantly with bridge itself, so once you get to the bridge your muscles will be strenghtened enough. If it doesn't make it worse, I'll give a try to test it and once I made it to lvl6 I'll give a report about in about 9-10 months, how about that?

    Is your back supposed to hurt while rolling back and forth on the towel on the floor? Mine does.

  • @SusanBame
    @SusanBame 7 лет назад +1

    Nice. I just tried this using my buckwheat hull pillows: a neck roll pillow and a regular (small Japanese style) pillow. Both were effective. I couldn't put my head on the floor completely, using the regular pillow; using the neck roll pillow, I popped the back a few times. A buckwheat hull pillow will give much more resistance and substance than foam or rolled-up towels.
    Love your channel & will recommend it to clients who come for their bioacoustic tones.
