- Hiya Toys is at it again! 😅coming in hot with the NEW and IMPROVED (according to the also yet-to-be-released) Godzilla 1991 Hokkaido HEAT RAY version. Why they do this, we are not sure. But! This is still really welcome.
Also, we will be taking a look at and reacting to some older announcements that I wasn't able to get to including the Hiya Toys skull crawler (2021), the Stylist series Godzilla evolved, and the much anticipated Godzilla 1954 70th anniversary edition from Bandai Tamashii Nations S.H. The figure has been updated over the original promo images! The thighs have been redone, the tail is done much cleaner and the head was touched up! The original will also release with this updated mold! A much needed update, the tail looks amazingly articulated

I noticed the differences between the figures too. Glad I'm not crazy. I prefer this updated version so nice to hear the original figure will get it too.

I may be wrong, but according to a Facebook post I saw earlier, the changes done for the heat ray version ( The better cuts in sculpt and therefore better posing potential) will be done for the original version.

i don't know that this is THE 91 figure i would have wanted, but i think this is a fantastic looking generic heisei godzilla.
I can agree to that. I actually am quite partial to my shma 1991 figure. But this is fantastic.

@@CepiTheNomad GMK for me was like the first Japanese Godzilla movie I watched cause I bought the three DVD set (when I was little) where it had GMK, Godzilla vs Mothra (1992), and Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991)

Initially, my thoughts regarding the Hiya Toys Hokkaido Godzilla Heat Ray version reminded me of the SDCC 2024 S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla 1989-Event Exclusive, but at a very affordable price with better scaling, movie-accurate details, and more articulation. Overall, I'm quite impressed by the Hokkaido Godzilla Heat Ray version, but I'm going to give the normal one a chance.
Furthermore, I would really love to see Hiya Toys retool the Hokkaido Godzilla for Burning Godzilla since I felt like the 1991 Godzilla was a combination of the 1989 and 1995 Godzilla; I've heard rumors that Hiya Toys will unveil newer Godzilla products, such as Burning Godzilla, GMK Godzilla, and yes, Final Wars Godzilla and Gigan.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I first saw it. In fact, I thought it was at a glance online.
And YES. They could potentially knock that out the park. And very exciting stuff coming from Hiya it seems. Good time to be a collector
@@CepiTheNomad 1) Indeed, my exact sentiments there. Glad that I wasn't the only one, though. So, I gonna give the standard release some love and recognition.
2) Of course, they will; from what I have heard about rumors that Hiya Toys will showcase Burning Godzilla (whether it be a new mold or a retooling of the Hokkaido Godzilla) for this year of SDCC, as well as other Godzilla products, especially my most personal favorites: Final Wars Godzilla and Gigan.
@@kaiju-odanny9778 that's a good idea, I think the original is still great and I want to support that too if I can.
That is exciting. We don't get much final wars love so I am eager to see how well they do

2) Same thing here, too; I would love to see them do the entire Final Wars monster cast, including Monster X and Keizer Ghidorah.
@@kaiju-odanny9778 its a huge longshot that hiya would ever do such niche kaiju such as Monster X or kaiser since they only just started doing classic kaiju
They should have given us something different like Godzilla 1985. That would have been the talk of the internet in full glory! Though this is a good looking figure.

I wouldnt call the heat ray '91 an "upgrade" because I prefer having godzillas without glowing spines, at least 99% of the time.
That’s fair. I can do either or but looking at my collection most my Godzillas are not glowy
90 percent of my collection is playmates 😭
90% of my collection is neca 10% sh monster arts and 1% is playmates 0% percent hiya witch I’m sad about

It appears the special paint on the dorsal plates may have a UV/blacklight effect

I can’t fathom why Hiya Toys would announce this Godzilla before the original one even comes out. Unless people really prefer for him to have normal colored dorsal plates, most will go for one with the atomic breath. Maybe there’s some kind of subtle color difference in the bodies? I really can’t tell from the pics.
Ngl, they did kinda shoot themselves on the foot by revealing this and not letting the normal version take a breath.
Kinda wanted for them to do Kong BEAST Glove, but I guess they are saving that for later since MV is their money maker.
But, to what they shown, I am already excited if they are doing Mecha G MV or Minus 1 godzilla with how they did the tail on this one.

At this point I'm kinda surprised they didn't go with the late Heisei design cuz then they could make the Normal and heat ray versions irrelevant with the burning figure, and then make him irrelevant with the burning heat ray figure lol! I'm still picking up both versions probably, I somehow have zero Heisei figures despite every company spamming Heisei.

Hobbylink Japan is where I ordered mine. It was about $91! Not sure if it’s still available but it should be somewhere.
