I am mortgage and debt free. I left a very well paying job and now am officially labeled as low income. However, I don't feel poor. I have what I need. I get to go hiking, biking, and take my dog for walks- all the things that I didn't get to do during that well paying job. I garden and raise some of my own fruits and vegetables. Life is good and I wouldn't change a thing.
As usual, you 2 are sharing outstanding content. I watch all your videos, and will continue to keep watching them and learning from them-- Blessings to your family.
I join many in appreciating your positive attitude and common sense value system. Using sweat equity is definitely the way to get ahead. Living below your means is a practice few seem to understand as a way to stay out of debt. Thank you for your positive example. Godspeed.
It's very interesting to watch American frogs boiling in water. My family said they would be joining me in Mexico & now Guatemala; when it hits the fan. 🤔 Wouldn't that be too late? 😆 🤣 😂
Yes, you're right but that's voluntary and so a person who voluntarily fasts for 24 hours doesn't feel the deprivation that someone would who feels compelled to skip meals because of lack of money in the grocery budget. Also, if you do intermittent fasting you should also make sure that you're eating right BEFORE doing the fast and drinking plenty of fluids, not working in a stressful environment and have no commitments. Fasting can make people sick if they don't know what they're doing. So the video is not about voluntarily fasting once or twice a week but people who are involuntarily skipping meals because they are worried they can't pay their mortgage or whatever.
We love whole oats, which is another versatile grain and healthy. Price higher here in the USA than Mexico or Ecuador. Thanks for watching! Take care and enjoy Quito!
@@HMFamilyLifeoat meal is one of my husbands favourite breakfast . Of course he loads it up with fresh or frozen fruit and yogurt. That lost him all till until supper. We only eat meat 3 times a week . Not because of frugality it’s our life style . We don’t buy boxed cereal which absolute expensive with very little health benefit. Kids don’t have to go hungry . Oatmeal ,or making rice pudding are still affordable . All it cost is effort . Baking your own bread is cheaper ,baking banana bread or any kind of fruit bread is good for snacks. It all requires effort and that what people are lacking . Seeing people buying frozen waffles is another sore in my eyes . Easy to make pancake mixture and make your own waffles, if you don’t have waffle iron make pancakes . Cook a stack ,keeping them in the fridge ., popping them into the toaster and you have a meal. All you need is effort.
Thank you for the excellent suggestions. Everything you mentioned we also do except for the rice pudding. Sounds really good though, and we'll have to try that. Do you use brown rice? Yes, we stay away from anything processed, that's what causes health problems. thanks for watching and sharing.

I love the flowers by your back porch. You should take cuttings and have them grow up the lattice work.

Food shopping is easy and cheap. Just go on the carnivore diet and eat two steaks a per day. One for breakfast and one for dinner.
WHY did you leave Mexico??
Well, for us it was just time to move on and come back home, so here we are.
How are you folks on oatmeal? regards, Quito frugalist
