@@adaptivelearner6162 Several hip hop artists have established major institutions to support and uplift African American communities. Here are a few notable examples:
The Hip-Hop Caucus - Founded by Rik Jones, this organization works at the intersection of hip hop culture and politics to address social justice issues.
The Shawn Carter Foundation - Established by Jay-Z, this foundation provides scholarships and educational support to underprivileged youth.
The Carver Foundation - Founded by rapper and activist KRS-One, this organization focuses on providing educational opportunities and support for youth.
The Dreamville Foundation - Founded by J. Cole, this foundation aims to inspire and support underserved communities through education and various community programs.
These institutions reflect the commitment of hip hop artists to creating positive change and addressing social and economic challenges within African American communities.

Doc is right hip hop has not benefited the black community
I'm guessing your saying all the black rappers family, there inner circles are not black, because all of them benefited and aren't they part of the black community?
Why is he right....I dare you to go check this time because you obviously didn't before your post. Spend some time researching the real Umar that bought a school over 10 years ago that's still boarded up that has the ideas on relationships but single with 2 baby mommas, now just try not follow just anyone that puts Dr in front of his name, and can use some big words incorrectly to sound good.
Right! Has helped send alot of people to prison.
This is the problem with people that can’t comprehend what is being asked with a platform. Narrow and shallow thinking. It’s painful to watch.

Absorb the knowledge and come back to explain yourself. Also research the school Umar bought over 10 years ago that's still boarded up and never opened and explain why he gets to call out others that have helped. Just passing information, Good Talk.

We didn’t make not a dime off of fashion that brother is a fool … dr Umar knows exactly what he’s speaking about
DRILL is a huge benefit to the black community that came from hip hop
You need a slap
Why do black people always give an objective when Mr Johnson speak on trying to improve black people lives by educations.
Once hip hop was commercialized by this country and introduced gangsta rap, that was the beginning of the end of our people
FACTS
Hip Hop is the MC, the DJ (specifically turntablism) Dancing (Breakin') Graffiti/Art and Knowledge of Self. 5 Elements. The whole entire symbol in Public Enemy's logo is a Brother standing on his square posted up. Just like the Brothers use to do in the 5%. Having Knowledge of Self didn't give me any tangibles.
But it did wake me up. Doing for self is just a rap slogan to some. But hitting those books to find the closest thing to the truth I wasn't getting anywhere was life changing. Supreme Mathematics taught me words like Honor, Respect, being Born were not just words. Which helped me make better decisions.
Church, Lottery Dream Books, Horoscopes and R&B are fine. This is America, Do you. But it was the messages in Hip Hop that straightened my spine out. Claiming clothes, a hot beat or acceptance by others is not a flex. Educating the youth on who we are as a people is. The hosts are idiots and a Pan-Africanist who's known for pandering can't admit it and keep his female fan base.
A Spooky mystery God is not A.L.L.A. H. Arm Leg Leg Arm Head. Fix your own problems. Does that work or waiting for the invisible sky daddy to solve your problems? I would argue that Hip-Hop isn’t the problem but the consumer is the problem.
Exactly! If you was to see some these people playlist... would let you know most black people are full of it. Plus they act like they wasn't killing each other before hip hop.
Hip hop is mainly a culture and music that started within the black community and also others join in hip hop you is non black it got people to collaborate and united through music I guess it help artist who could of been street dealers have an opportunity in music, but I see what he mean it has not help with infrasture etc education.
Why does hip hop need to benefit BP as a whole? How has Pan Africanism benefitted BP?
Exactly
Garveyism benefited BP. Pan-Africanism also benefited BP by increasing collaboration between Africa and the diaspora in the 1960s
@@salj.5459 And in this day, many Africans and foreign blks still resent us FBA. So it looks like Pan-Africanism was a great big fail. Bob Marley was probably the last Pan-African who probably could've brought us together, but he lost his life at a young age. Guys like Umar Johnson are only interested in pandering to blk women. That's called "leading from the back"... literally. He has no real plans for a Pan-African community. He has no sense of hierarchy, order or structure for this community, either.
Can you point to any negative affects to the Black Community as a result of Pan Aficanism as can be done with the affects of hip hop? And why have the powers that be promoted and exploited gangsta hip hop but steered clear of Pan Africanism?

People like Karl Kani n FUBU benefitted from fashion in hiphop in the 90's. but where are these brands now? Black people havent progressed through hip hop as a whole.
What is crazy there’s not one facility there’s not one school there’s not one bank. There’s not one trade development center that all these wealthy hip-hop people have put together at all basketball players football players it’s all about self. The black community still has not figured out that money is like a pile of shit. The only way it grows if you spread it out.
The black Resturaunt industry does t help black people as a whole … lol you can say that about almost everything
Karl Kani and FUBU?! No wonder we're on the bottom!
I know Umar shtick is to paint every thing black in a pessimistic stand point but my god cmon bro. To sit there act like Hip Hop didn’t help black communities is utterly ridiculous.
Hip hop is youth. In the 80’s the youth sold drugs and went jail. In the 90’s sold drugs, killed each other, went jail. 2000’s killed each other, went jail, or rapped about killing each other on records. In 2024 it’s killing each other, killing each other, and now that’s called the culture.
You can tell how it's help, other than killing them selfs and women acting a fool.
It didn’t though, about two months I was sitting at a bus stop and there was a 16 yo male next to me standing 5”4, so I asked him what you planning on doing For a career, he looked at me with a straight face and said basketball… it has severely poisoned the minds of youth

Hip hop provides jobs to black people, you can say that isn’t “systemic” but literally no racial group in America has a system to help every individual of that race, it’s all just individuals helping individuals within their own race or family, they don’t have some huge overbearing system at work
The J's would disagree with you about not having a system that benifit a racial group.
