Thanks for the great information. I can't understand the painting process when there are so many original rocks on the market. Many people buy them because they are original. I am sure they will pay more attention after this video.

Thank you for this informative video! The piece of turquoise you were unable to confirm is similiar to a piece that I have. New subscriber :)

Constantly evolving? I guess that's why ppl like you are invaluable to the gem trade, because you're willing to evolve your tests.

Trying to... I've found the best test is just years of looking at stones...

I think all of us rock hounds if we stand next to fake turquoise and just dont feel it, then its fake. When you see a squash blossom necklace with beautiful blue green stone and you get the feels, it lets you know its real.

Do you know anything about bamboo coral? Is it good for jewelry?

I do not know much about coral or that specific type. I do know that coral was harvested for jewelry decades ago, but now certain types are protected by law against harvest. I'd do some research on the specific types you want to buy and go from there. I personally do not use coral in my work so I just avoid that altogether!

Thanks Carly, I'd agree with this 100%. And a lot of the time the color is the giveaway to the trained eye :)
