In this video, I am working with another spontaneously dead iPhone 12 Pro. This board has no water damage and has never been dropped. This time, I find a problem I have not seen before. It starts out looking like it is a common main or boost short, and then shows that it is not. It then looks like it is bad charging ic, and again it shows that it is not. It is important to always use your head!

Thanks! Heat signatures can be tricky and don't always show the full picture.
So when checking for a short you put the multimeter into continuity mode ?

12 pro died while using
No water damage no drop nothing
After check its a vdd main short 100%
Found the bad cap right next to Tigres took it out short is gone
Hooked it to power supply and boom full short again and tigres heating up a little but nothing ela

is main short again? If short again, just find the component that is short.
@@iBoardRepair nope its not reading normal values, thats what driving me crazy
And there is no other line shorted to ground
Took out yangtze just to be certain and nothing even under pins values all normal
