Today we are traveling to Fort Lauderdale for our DISNEY CRUISE LINE vacation aboard the DISNEY DREAM! This day was a bit chaotic as our flight kept changing. Eventually we made it to Fort Lauderdale where our Disney Cruise Line ship, the DISNEY DREAM, was waiting for us. We can't wait to share this travel series with you. 🚙. We cruised out of Port Everglades on our last DCL cruise and also had a rough travel day. Our flight was originally only delayed for 30 minutes, but once everyone boarded, we were then stuck for an additional 2 hours waiting for the plane to be de-iced (a forecasted snow storm came in a day early). We were completely exhausted when we checked into our hotel and still tired when we dragged ourselves downstairs for the continental breakfast. However, once we actually got to board the ship and head to the main dining room for lunch, we were so ready for our vacation and had a great time.
Omg that is so similar to what happened to us!!! Were you on the plane already when they had to de-ice it?!?! That would be rough!
Yep, we were stuck just sitting on the plane for hours. Thankfully we had a direct flight once we did take off, otherwise we probably would have missed the cruise completely. It was also raining in Ft Lauderdale after we got onboard, so no getting on the AquaDuck on the first day and had the Sail Away Party in the Atrium instead of on the deck (which was fine). It was supposed to rain again the morning of our Castaway Cay day, but it didn’t-however it was too windy to do our “feed the stingrays” excision. We were still able to snorkel with the stingrays, so we were automatically credited back a partial refund and still had a great time. Thankfully my daughter was a real trooper and we didn’t let any of the small hiccups spoil our vacation at all (we were still able to enjoy pool and AquaDuck time later on as well as everything else).
