It still works, I didn't skip the cutscene with Uncle and I got the rifle. First time I tried it I skipped the cutscene and the guy wasn't in the bed. Don't know if that matters but it worked for me.
Uh what chapter is that mission in? What is the mission called? What is the map location of that house you find rifle in(maybe you can go to that house not in mission and still get rifle) but you never show map location or give much info about when in the game this happens
It still works as of 1-13-2020 Thanks for the video. I ended up killing the rustlers, because they pulled their guns, but when I sneaked inside the farmer was still sleeping and the he woke up tries to shoot me with the carcano and I shot him too.
3 years late, but Uncle's mission becomes available early in Chapter 4 after getting back Jack. Something that no one notes is that it is only available at nighttime, not day. It's one of the easiest missions in the game. You don't even have to kill the rancher. He'll just end up knocking himself out on accident by stumbling off the porch. Getting this rifle early on isn't that big of a deal. If you miss it, just forget about it.

Chap 4. Remember it's the only chance u can get carcano this early in the game.
