I am a gay man. I have absolutely zero issue with him or any other straight actor playing a gay role. For the past 100 years we begged to see gay stories in the movies or on TV. Now all of a sudden we want to burn our allies alive for daring to portray us on the screen.
Just for the sake of argument, wouldn't the logic of that premise just as well possibly knock the community out of a lot more roles than it would put them in?

The answer to why so many people want to watch Stanley Tucci mix drinks is that he is a style icon who's chic transcends his work into his personal life or vice versa. He's got style and it shows!
I appreciate Stan for not spending the rest of his life in mourning over the death of his first wife Katherine. Some people like to believe that the stress and despair Katherine felt when she found out Stanley was cheating on her with Edie Falco caused her to develop breast cancer; but it's rather unlikely that the stress she felt over her husband's infidelity caused Kate to develop breast cancer.

I love him!!! A vulnerable actor that brings essence what the character wants from him. Whoever thinks gay actors should play gay character never study acting. " Acting is actions and objects in scene" Maybe gay people should start writing more their own stories, more voices.
