John, tonite we cooked another rack of baby back ribs. Have probably used this recipe ten times. Thanks for the great videos. Very helpful and well done. Cheers! BD
Try rolling up 4 to 6 racks to fit on your Big Joe if you have a big cook. It works better than loading up a rib rack. The Joe Jr keeps looking better and better.
2 racks fit, check out smoking dad bbq. he does 2 with the wooden skewers. spaces the ribs with room in between for air flow and full smoke penetration.
we follow this technique but at the end: I get the KJJr really hot...600 or so, then put the ribs back on for 10 or 15 minutes. puts a bit of a crunch on the outside. really good
several years ago, i discovered the big green egg and really liked the ceramic grill concept....pretty pricey, so i decided to let it go for awhile....recently, did a bunch of research (tax refund burnin' a hole in my pocket)....decided on the kamado joe jr, since i'm single and don't throw parties but once in a blue moon..ordering it first thing tomorrow a.m. ...got lots of good ideas from ya....THANKS!....i'm h-u-n-g-r-y!
***** ordered mine this a.m. .....should arrive at local ace hardware (best price) in a few days in time for sunny 70s by then......will stop by sam's club to pick up salmon and ribs on way home....... ;o)~~
Great video looks good, but this is just way to much money for what you can do with it. Spend the extra money to buy bigger one or go a different direction for the money and usability.
I love Kamado Joes but I agree if it were $250-300 then I would say get it but you can find a Joe Classic new still for $750 or go the used route. Love this little cooker though.
That Joe Jr. is looking more and more appealing those ribs looked outstanding
Great looking ribs John, and the Kamado Jr. is a winner!

I just picked up a Kamado Joe Jr. at Walmart today on clearance! Can't wait to make these ribs!
Mmmm, my favorite! Those ribs looked awesome John. Nice idea rolling them up to fit on Jr. Fine job!!!
@Allan Torin yup, been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Awesome! The coils worked like a charm ;)
Thanks for the lesson. It was just what we were looking for to convince us the joe jr is the way for us to go.
I am doing this tomorrow on my Jr. Never thought to roll them up! thanks
That is a great idea, thanks

Hey man - just wondering why you prefer rolling to rib rack? Isn’t rack easier?
Bought mine yesterday.....cooked marinated wings and chicken breasts. Absolutely sensational. Beef ribs next!
Great Look'in Baby Backs!
Did u remove the membrane first? Why roll them? Could you just cut them in two sections and smoke them side by side?
Very nice!
They even look really moist without having a water pan (or spritzing?).
Can you get two racks on the Jr?
I was wondering the same thing. I sure you call roll two racks or trim them to fit, but it might be snug.

getting one
where did you get that lighter
I think I'd just cut the rack in half, though this is an interesting technique.
I don't like the row thing. Cut that baby.
nice! no foil too!
Didn't Santa Claus bring you a sauce pot with a brush? And you used a WOODEN SPOON!!!!!!!
For some reason this video didn't show up in my feeds :/ those ribs look yummo John
