    ¼ cup (42 g) ground flaxseed
    ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

    Remember to add in some cinnamon if your dogs aren't sensitive to it! Let me know here what other kinds of dog treats you want recipes for!

      Would love a low calorie chewy treat for the 10 year old 20 lb. mixed breed dog I adopted 2 months ago. He came to me overweight (I can see why, he's an incorrigible beggar! ...and I tend to be a pushover who has a hard time saying no, which isn't helping...LOL). The place he came from was giving him rawhide chews, which I don't like because of the obvious risks, so I switched him to Dreambones, which he absolutely loves...but they are expensive...and apparently fattening too, because he's gaining weight. So I'm looking for an affordable alternative that will give him the chewing time he likes (and apparently really really really wants...), without adding to his weight problem. Bonus points if it lasts longer than 5 minutes (this guy is hardcore, LOL). I have a dehydrator if needed. For anyone who is wondering...he is absolutely NOT interested in toys of any kind, not even puzzle toys with treats inside them. And I don't want to give him real bones because he has small snaggle teeth (like a Chihuahua) so I'm concerned he'll break a tooth because he bites down so hard on everything...and I just don't want him to swallow a piece of bone, either.

      @@randomspirit aw I’ve been wondering about a homemade chew for awhile and dehydrated sweet potato seems to be the most popular option but my thinking is it won’t last very long. Let me know if you’ve tried that and I’m curious if anyone else has ideas for you! I’m sorry I can’t be of more help right now but it’s good for me to know that you’re looking for an option for a homemade chew. I’m going to keep thinking and keep me posted. I hope you’re able to find something!

      So been wondering. Whenever we say bake them at a certain temperature is it turning the fire on the top and bottom parts of the Oven or just the top part. And where should we place them. Middle ( or more to the top or lower part of the oven). Thank you for the amazing ideas

    • @TastyThriftyTimely
      @TastyThriftyTimely  6 месяцев назад +2

      @@MrAshshine oh you’re welcome! And I haven’t used an oven like what you are describing but I believe just the bottom flame needs to be lit for baking and it will heat your whole oven. I usually place pans on the middle rack (unless a recipe suggests otherwise) for the most even heat. I hope this is helpful but let me know if you have other questions!
