That spoon and level method with measuring cups is something i never knew until recently. Ive been baking for over a decade and no one had mentioned that you shouldnt scoop flour out into the cup, but you should fluff it and spoon it in.. this whole time i was using too much flour lol glad you mentioned this as well. I did recently get a scale and im going to have accurate measurements from now on 🥳

Dear John, you’re my hero!! I was so intimidated, but this recipe made it so easy! The boiling in baking soda in batches was a bit hectic, but they turned out perfect! I even forgot the egg wash and salt until they were in the oven for 3 minutes, but I popped em out, did the egg wash and salt, then baked for the full time and omg. Some I made cinnamon sugar (those will get cheesecake dip) and the plain salted ones will have both jalapeño popper dip and beer cheese dip. So excited to share with my family, thank you so much!! 💜💜💜

John, you need to do an episode about teaching kids to read a recipe, and make it. How old are your kids? Have you ever made ice cream cone cup cakes? The kids will love them.
Make the cake batter,. You'll need a deep cup cake tin.
Put in flat bottom ice cream cones. Fill each cone 3/4 with batter. Bake with cup cake instructions.
When done, let cool, follow instructions for frosting. Eat!
For fun, make it a white or yellow batter. When cool, poke holes in the cones, gently spoon in a favorite jello. Use multiple colors of jello, if you'd like. Frost, sprinkle with your favorite toppings.

(I'd love to know how boll weavels get in an unopened bag of flour)I live in a very small town, no store that sells the flour I like. Spotted a lemon cake mix in my pantry. I measured it and it was close to 2 cups. I cut the sugar amount and winged it. Using your guide rules I watched my dough carefully and babied it all the way. It made 2 beautiful loaves with a hint of lemon.

So made the pretzels and then added syrup in the water and boiled the bagels. My son (22) loves a plain bagel so after one bite he says "" you know what that tastes like?!!? A pretzel. You are my go to chef extraordinaire John! Your step by step instructions are fab for experiential learners and the tips and cues give me confidence when trying your recipes. How long do you knead the dough for your cinnamon buns? Mine looked and tasted great but were doughy on the inside~didn’t stop my son from eating and loving them though 😂!
For the pretzel bites, is this the exact same recipe as the large soft pretzels? I have made the large pretzels twice now, and they are the size of bagels, big enough to make sandwiches ‼️ (I cut the dough into 8 equal parts rather than 12, oops). Everyone that has tried these pretzel bagels thinks I’m a genius baker... I ALWAYS give you the credit!
I am afraid to make your “easy” quiche... yup, that will require some concentration and commitment 😅
Thanks for always measuring and doing the conversions for your fans. I stop, measure, and then restart your videos as I progress to the grand finish toward delicious edible homemade food💖
This is my son’s account... he is one happy baked goods eater, after I make your recipes into delightful yumminess!

I found you years back looking for a chocolate & carrot cake, frosting and more. We used the chocolate and your AWESOME strawberry cupcakes that even the hubby who doesn't like strawberry cake will eat. Grandkids and their friends love them. They're school birthday go to's for my now Sr's annual Birthday. Her friends aways ask for them! I
did a different carrot cake though and use pistachio. So damn good!!
Now my sister whom didht bake often at all is using your recipes after I shared the strawberry cupcake. She says these are great and makes them often for her family. I stopped baking for a while and began sewing & remodeled my home. Now, I'm back and trying these tomorrow.
I appreciate how much detail and time you spend on making it easy and intersting.
Your smooth moves of wiping the butter wrapper on the paddle attatchnent without breaking eye contact make me smile every time I see it!! I'm back in my kitchen trying to acclimate to a Samsung Bespoke bread proof setting with a new Artisan recipe my sis gave me. Probably should have started smaller than a 7 Qt Dutch Oven whopper of a loaf! My damaged brain messed up 1st by using wrong measuring spoon, yesterday's 2nd loaf was way too wet. I had never put plastic wrap over my bowls in the past. Knew I should have just used the towel, not both.
Come to find out, it also calls for more bread flour than the 6 cups he's stated to use in video. I didn't read nor print the thing like I do yours.
This is loaf 3 just out at 2:10 am. If it has a density to it, I'll go for another round after Thanksgiving. I'm making these tomorrow with stuffed jalapeños peppers wrapped in bacon (that look almost as good as a hotdog smothered in underwear🤣) with dinner. The birds and squirrels have feasted on that bread after hunby andI each had 1 piece. We'll see if loaf #3 has a better crumb in a few minutes.
I've got to scan your channel for new recipies. I see a lot of air fryer. My oven has one. I like all but how it triggers the smoke alarms with every use. Thanks for all you do.
Here's that dome damage kicked in with meds and I get all chatty!! I'm going to stop typing now!!

Here’s a real pretzel recipe trust me. Ingredients:
    Dough-
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons yeast
2 cups + 2 Tbsp of all-purpose flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 tbsp butter melted
    Baking Soda Solution-
2 cups warm water
2 tbsp baking soda
    Butter Topping-
6 tbsp butter melted
coarse salt
    Instructions:
    1. Microwave the milk and water for 45 seconds or until warm. Stir in the yeast and allow to proof 5 minutes.
    2. Meanwhile, in the bowl of a stand mixer combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and melted butter. Pour in the proofed yeast mixture and knead 7 minutes over medium-high speed. (Dough should be smooth and tacky.)
    3. Lightly grease the top of the dough and allow to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Meanwhile in a shallow bowl, dissolve the baking soda in water. Set aside.
    4. Preheat oven to 410°F. Cut dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll and stretch each piece into a 30" rope. Then holding the ends, make a U-shape and twist twice. Pinch ends to the pretzel.

    5. Dip Pretzels in the baking soda solution and immediately place onto a sheetpan. Bake 8 minutes. Dip in the melted butter topping and sprinkle with coarse salt. Cook for 15 minutes for the Bites and roll out the dough into a log then chop into equal parts then place on a baking sheet with some butter on it ENJOY 😊 I promise u will be mesmerized it’s so good! And This recipe makes one serving :)

7:04 two thumbs up for opting to use a damp towel instead of "disposable" plastic film.

I never thought to make my own pretzels at home. My son loves them. I like this recipe because it's easy to half. That's a lot of pretzels for my small family, lol. John, if I wanted to use instant yeast would that be okay? If yes, is there anything I need to do differently at the yeast stage? Thanks in advance... 👍

Making these now! I wonder if you can put a cube of cheese in each bite to make a cheesy treat?

They look so delicious. Having celiac’s disease I can use one to one gluten free flour but need to figure out the ratio of xanthan gum to replace the gluten so it has a chew. If anyone know how to figure this out please let me know. Thanks
