If you put the bladders in the cap first it not only makes it much easier to put together but you eliminate the risk of tearing the seal up when you're tightening it down.
Just did my first shocks last week. DF03 hop ups and first try I pulled too quickly the shaft and all the oil splashed on my forehead!!! Had a good laugh! ;-)
Hi, what you call the piston is called the damper rod or shaft, the piston is the disc with the holes in!. What I used to do was just put the bottom "e"clip on the shaft then I'd put the shaft in the damper body and using long nose pliers I could hold the shaft on the shock end then screw the end on without damaging the shaft then I'd put the piston on then the other "e" clip!. Steve.
Stephen Stott Thanks Steve, I’m absolutely useless with getting things wrong on video 😞 I cringed when I watch some of them back! Anyway thanks for the info it’s much appreciated 👊🏻
Looks good. Always wondered why they are called Hi-Caps (maybe a dum question but English is not my first language). High capacity? High caps? Not sure if they look high capacity, more standard size. So these re-re are already out of stock? Ohh, and I always let the shocks sit for as long as I can wait before fitting the cap. Let’s all the small air bubbles out quite efficiently.
We’re thinking of doing a full light kit, maybe even a sound kit, the mrs got a steal on a 6 channel receiver/transmitter combo, just have no idea on what to put on the 2 remaining channels

Nice shocks should work great!
Shen RC
Yeah this was for a display car I’ve built, so I had to use the internal spaces to make it sit low enough for the shelf 👊🏻

Pushing the plunger up before putting cap on is to set the rebound
Lee Hurst
Yeah I’ve since realised that buddy, I’ve been doing it wrong for a long time 😬🔫

Nordic RC Visions
Yeah the old cva’s held as much oil lol. Think it was just a Tamiya branding name tbh 🤔
TAMIYA Legends So it means “high capacity”?
Nordic RC Visions
Yes buddy, thinking about it 🤔 It was Tamiya’s first high capacity metal shock from back in the day?
TAMIYA Legends Yeah, could be it ☺️
Compared to older designs (look at the Frog, Hornet, or even older cars) these were definitely high-capacity.
Hopefully they will do those dampers as rere as they as rare and expensive...
charlesobiwan
Yeah hopefully they’ll do another batch of them in the future 🙏🏻
Hello! I'm just doing these. I had to watch this again. Why some dampers give rebound and some pulls? Air?
Why did Tamiya go away from the internal circlip and add a threaded piece?
Did you look at the new tamiyas and did you see the neo falcon and are they re-releasing the original falcon?
Have you seen the red edition lunchbox being released? I already have one preordered for my mrs.
Jub
Yeah I think it looks great in Red 😍👊🏻

I’m looking for shocks for my Nissan King Cab, will these work? Suggestions?
muddfoot69
Hmmm 🤔 I’m really not sure if the sizes are correct! You could try Tony’s Tamiya parts to see if he has a full set of CVA’s for it?
Aluminium spacer on the shockshaft?!
Klas Jonsson
Yes sorry I did this awhile ago my mistake it would of been a plastic internal spacer 👊🏻
Cool shocks but that cap was fiddly.
Bas Boy RC
It was 😂👊🏻, I should of cut that out 😂
These are so expensive. Can you recommend a cheaper brand for Top Force that fit?
Quickly checks Ebay... omg these are pricey!

Brad Kalman
I think we will see a new re-re vintage this year, I’m hoping for the Falcon but you never know with Tamiya 🤔🤔🤔
