Killing it with the edit. Go Jing for leaning into authenticity and chasing a life where you can be present. That's more valuable than any amount of money (not a throwaway sentence: I've met people who live the other way around and are so so lost). Ps. If I can offer some unsolicited advice about making social media work for you as you guys seem very dedicated (take it or leave it). I feel like you guys may have something similar to the tendency I have to constantly battle with, which is to try and turn everything into something cool and watchable. This is great, and can be super creative, but can also lead to a splitting of focus for the video. I've found that detours and asides in the finished film might work for other mediums but are a really hard sell on social media. Like just as a simple example, this film could be separated into two films: (1) travel and (2) coping with job loss. That's going to make thumbnail/title creation easier and also mean that the people clicking are more likely to be interested in that topic. As soon as you make a film about two things you risk alienating a certain portion of the audience. Obviously not concrete rules, especially when those two topics are intimately entertwined, but hopefully food for thought!
Thank you for the sweet words and support. I love the non throwaway sentence! Also, that’s such great insight. Thank you for sharing! I honestly thought about making it into 2 videos this time, but decided not to in the end. I’ll definitely take this into consideration next time. There are so much to learn about and I’m very grateful for meeting y’all over the internet. I hope we get to meet one day! ❤
Carla, thank you so much for your continuous support and all the thoughtful kind words. It really means a lot to me! You’re one of my first audience and I’ll always remember that ❤
hi Jing, I’m watching this video while it’s at 72 views and 163 subscribers (now 164 🤭) and I can’t wait to see the jump in those numbers after a year. u have such a likable personality and u seem so grounded and the beauty and quality in ur editing clearly reflects the passion u have for your craft. wishing u the very best and more :-)
Omg you’re so kind 🥹 thank you so much for the generous and thoughtful words! I can’t believe how much kindness I’m receiving. Paul and I edit our video together and he’s the one with more craft, I’ll have to give the credit to him 🥰
I’ve never wanted to quit my job more than after watching this…except Monday-Friday when I’m at work😂 I’m DEFINITELY going to see if the video is up about how to travel without spending a ton of money❤️❤️❤️

IKR. And yes! It is for sure coming (after a few China travel episodes). Thank you for your input 💙
The video is of exceptionally high quality, and I cannot find any reasons not to follow it. Recommended the channel to friends!🍀
Thank you so much new friend! 🤓
Love that you play better as Donkey Kong 😂.
Hahaha I know! I thought I was meant to be Rosalina 💁🏻♀️
nahhhh this video went hard. What lens did you use in 0:21 and 0:35 for that bokeh?
Eyyy great question. It’s an old Helios 44-2. My friend Nick Samuels has a good video on here about it! m.ruclips.net/video/i9Io6jHNxyM/видео.html
