They can’t say “it’s him” it opens them up to legal action if anything went wrong, they are just covering their bases as a private entity. Once he is found guilty they can make definitive statements

He’s a serial killer. The fact that he did this and is seemingly a sociopath with no connection to his victims makes me wonder how many other times he’s done this? All trials are open for public. Or almost all trials, sometimes when small cildren are (sa/dv) victims, court may be closed doors to protect victims identity. But in this case, court will 100% sure be open for public.

Obviously the authorities had him in their sights for weeks before the public ever knew a thing about them even having a suspect at all, let alone this specific person. You do not know what the cops have on this guy, and they're not going to be sharing details with us right now. They caught a dude across the country, whose name was never brought up by a tip or by any of the hundreds of interviews conducted, who didn't have a criminal record (no fingerprints or DNA in any database), didn't attend ISU, was 8 years older than the victims and not known to be close to any of the 4 victims in any way. I think they absolutely have more than enough evidence to convict this monster beyond any reasonable doubt. We, the public, are probably aware of less than 5% of the information law enforcement has gathered up. A "weak" case? No way. This was incredibly difficult, complex police work to get to this suspect. To think that the information that has been shared with the media up to this point is ALL the information the police have on this man is just wrong.

This issue is gonna be finding DNA that is going to be the problem. The news has said they matched his dna...that mean they have a sample of his dna and are matching it to the crime scene. They will get him if they CONFIRM a match.

Great comment! Its not easy putting together events of a crime with only bread crumbs.. They're doing the best they can but also making sure they have the RIGHT guy.
I think that’s the issue here is people are pressuring police to arrest someone. It doesn’t seem like they care who, as long as it’s someone. It takes time to link everything together. Evidence takes time to process. And giving out any information on the case could compromise it. We want the right person, we want enough valid evidence to convict and get justice. I think people need to do more research before trying to be an internet hero 🙄 I think the police did everything the way they should have thus far and I’m pleased that they kept their mouths shut.

A murder in a moment of anger, crimes of passion, are maybe a little easier to understand. But this is senseless. Just easy to assume murders like this take a monster. Unless this person is mentally unfit, the death penalty is merited here.
To have a face to this crime IS sad, but also relieving to know he’s off the streets. I agree, this guy is a serial killer. Too well planned. You don’t elude authorities for almost two months after brutally murdering 4 college students (and the case goes national) without planning it extremely well. It’s the exact kind of planning a sadistic, psychopathic serial killer would do. Why he chose that house and those victims, though, is what I’m curious to know. My guess is he found out that the house was rented by all girls, and girls are much easier to stab to death than guys, especially if he knew beforehand that the girls were petit for the most part. I’m also curious to know how he got into the house? Was it left unlocked and he simply got lucky, or does one of the roommates on the 1st floor know him and they purposely let him in?

I'm sure they checked the gas station near the photo to see if he used a credit card there, and they probably checked for elantras with WSU parking stickers. Everybody who knows this guy, knows he lived 10 miles from the murders and what he drives. All his family and friends and neighbors in Pittsburg and Pullman. Surely somebody at least left an anonymous message on the tip line.
Before he left for Pennsylvania he must of gassed up at a gas station in Moscow that is near an on-ramp to the freeway; or toll roads; if he drove on toll roads his license plate number would have been picked up by the cameras as he drove through the toll booths.

This creep apparently knew the guy that was one of the victims and they had a falling out because the dude didn't want to have anything to do with this guy anymore because he was a major heroin addict and had serious anger issues according to this girl, she said she didn't know he knew the girls but she knows he knew that guy. She also said that he was always scheming to get drugs and that he had dead eyes and that's plain to see in that mug shot. Needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent for what he did it was heinous and sadistic and should get the death penalty!!

It wasn't a random person he was seeking to kill. He targeted one of the girls after seeing her at the bar that night and she rejected him. He was already feeling rage and pscho-like junk and she was easy to locate and kill (the party house was known to everyone, everyone knew who lived there, she was a pretty and fun going gal - who didn't secure their home well or think about just trying to be kind to someone who offers to buy you a drink in a bar because sometimes it just doesn't take much throw off the already psycho-disturbed-murderous behavior of a person who has a big knife and knows where you leave. Of course my thoughts go to the victims' families... But also to the family of this monster whose lives are forever changed for they are now going to have to live with the stigma of being the killer's parent, sibling...

You can definitely see a head in the back seat window. At least 3 people involved. When Bryan Kohberger was arrested he reportedly asked "if anyone else has been arrested" and had a blank stare in his eyes. Trauma for sure

Finally! I'm hoping this suspect is brought before the judge and his trial starts soon. The murders of the four young people touched more than the states of Idaho and Pennsylvania. They shocked the world.
I agree but it happens a lot where people are murdered while other people in the home are sleeping… In the 80s there was a case of an entire family of like 5 people murdered while two little boys slept in the other room. maybe the people are just such in shock or so scared they can’t even scream? He probably drove straight to Pennsylvania after he did this. They should honestly look at the insterstates he traveled and look along them to see if they can find a knife. He probably threw it out the window halfway across the country from the murders.

My heart goes out to these families. Even if this guy is the real murderer, my heart goes out to his family also. They'll be put thru hell! I went thru this in 1980 when my younger sister was murdered in a triple homicide. The murderer committed suicide before trial & took the "answers" with him, so we never had to deal with judicial system & I'm grateful for that, but it took yrs to forgive him! These families have a long haul ahead of them! It never leaves you, but the bad memories are replaced, in time (we all process grief differently) with those wonderful memories of silly & great things they did & you never lose that love you have for them.
So sorry. I feel that it is obvious mental illness is on the rise in America. People glorify murders more these days. I am just surprised if he possibly showed these mental issues and was still allowed as a student- like someone could have figured out more about him.

In hindsight, the survey seems like a guy that was already beginning to plan how to commit this crime. I even think this choice of university is not an accident. Rural and 2 campuses in separate states, but very nearby. I think he was banking on never being connected because he was older and at the other campus. You would think he'd know DNA is pretty incriminating in modern times.
I was thinking similarly. Maybe he was already kind of "curious" or into the topic of murder, wanting to understand how to execute one and how it really feels to do so. Decided on a topic of interest for his thesis, and met some other like minded individuals through the research or become more stimulated by the data collection. Who knows though! Obviously the authorities had him in their sights for weeks before the public ever knew a thing about them even having a suspect at all, let alone this specific person. You do not know what the cops have on this guy, and they're not going to be sharing details with us right now. They caught a dude across the country, whose name was never brought up by a tip or by any of the hundreds of interviews conducted, who didn't have a criminal record (no fingerprints or DNA in any database), didn't attend ISU, was 8 years older than the victims and not known to be close to any of the 4 victims in any way. I think they absolutely have more than enough evidence to convict this monster beyond any reasonable doubt. We, the public, are probably aware of less than 5% of the information law enforcement has gathered up.
A "weak" case? No way. This was incredibly difficult, complex police work to get to this suspect. To think that the information that has been shared with the media up to this point is ALL the information the police have on this man is just wrong.

This issue is gonna be finding DNA that is going to be the problem. The news has said they matched his dna...that mean they have a sample of his dna and are matching it to the crime scene. I think that’s the issue here is people are pressuring police to arrest someone. It doesn’t seem like they care who, as long as it’s someone. It takes time to link everything together. Evidence takes time to process. And giving out any information on the case could compromise it. We want the right person, we want enough valid evidence to convict and get justice. I think people need to do more research before trying to be an internet hero 🙄 I think the police did everything the way they should have thus far and I’m pleased that they kept their mouths shut.

I'm sure they checked the gas station near the photo to see if he used a credit card there, and they probably checked for elantras with WSU parking stickers. Everybody who knows this guy, knows he lived 10 miles from the murders and what he drives. All his family and friends and neighbors in Pittsburg and Pullman. Surely somebody at least left an anonymous message on the tip line.
Before he left for Pennsylvania he must of gassed up at a gas station in Moscow that is near an on-ramp to the freeway; or toll roads; if he drove on toll roads his license plate number would have been picked up by the cameras as he drove through the toll booths.

My heart goes out to these families. Even if this guy is the real murderer, my heart goes out to his family also. They'll be put thru hell! I went thru this in 1980 when my younger sister was murdered in a triple homicide. The murderer committed suicide before trial & took the "answers" with him, so we never had to deal with judicial system & I'm grateful for that, but it took yrs to forgive him! These families have a long haul ahead of them! It never leaves you, but the bad memories are replaced, in time (we all process grief differently) with those wonderful memories of silly & great things they did & you never lose that love you have for them.
So sorry. I feel that it is obvious mental illness is on the rise in America. People glorify murders more these days. I am just surprised if he possibly showed these mental issues and was still allowed as a student- like someone could have figured out more about him.

In hindsight, the survey seems like a guy that was already beginning to plan how to commit this crime. I even think this choice of university is not an accident. Rural and 2 campuses in separate states, but very nearby. I think he was banking on never being connected because he was older and at the other campus. You would think he'd know DNA is pretty incriminating in modern times.
I was thinking similarly. Maybe he was already kind of "curious" or into the topic of murder, wanting to understand how to execute one and how it really feels to do so. Decided on a topic of interest for his thesis, and met some other like minded individuals through the research or become more stimulated by the data collection. Who knows though! All I know is he's a complete nut and he frightens me.
