Action Kid would of loved Action Park in Vernon Valley, NJ back when! It was a wild amusement park and water rides that should have never passed safety protocols because there were none! A lot closer ride from the city as well!

The white coaster is Great Nor'Easter. It’s a custom Vekoma SLC meaning it had to be built exactly in that space. You have a 2 minute ride on it. Not the most thrilling but a fun looper. Unfortunately very common across the world so not a unique ride.
Actually Zampearla the company that owns Luna Park in coney Island was planning a full water park right next door while the lot adjacent would become a green space with a splash pad. Unfortunately the Pandemic killed any plans they had so they switched to simply surviving that summer. It was rough for them as the entire theme park industry disappeared in an instant. The money they had saved for the project dried up. Now Zampearla is revamping their current lineup of rides to try and get more capacity out of them. The money simply isn’t there anymore. It’s basically what can they do now that is affordable and can bring people in. Zampearla is a leader of flat rides and family friendly roller coasters.

Likely low tide hence the beach is so big. Happens a lot in Daytona. The high tide is all the way to the sea wall sometimes.

That coaster is Great White built by Custom Coasters international. It’s a classic Woodie design but not a true woodie as technically it’s a hybrid coaster. It’s not tall enough to qualify for hyper status but is classified as a family coaster. Built in 1996 and redone three years ago. Unfortunately it’s not on anyone’s bucket list to ride. The American dream mall has Shell raiser which is a Euro fighter but has a beyond vertical drop and is a modern ride. All coasters tend to get upgrades every year unfortunately great white did not. The cyclone got upgraded last winter mostly to replace electronics to the newest generation and a full retrack. Great White hasn’t done anything since 2021. Disney every year cycles rides to replace electronics or retheme rides to work better. It’s why splash mountain was taken apart for Tiana’s as Splash mountain had the unfortunate connection to the racist Song of The South movie. Country bears is getting a massive refurbishment as the animatronics barely worked and the songs were old. It’s more modern songs in a country style now although it’s still Disney songs. It’s simply getting refreshed.

I used to spend summers on the Jersey shore back in the 90's it was packed a with people clubs were so packed also...crazy how empty it looks.
He recorded this on early Sunday afternoon - Most vacationers leave for home on Sunday after the holiday week/weekend. If he was to record on the 4h there is hardly room to walk on the boardwalk with all the crowds of people - plus most people are on the beach during the day at the shore

This was fun, wonder why not too many people, it seemed reasonable. Kids would love it.
There is a massive heatwave in NJ, although 10 degrees cooler at the shore. Looks like he's there midday, the hottest time. People go to the boardwalk later. Also lots of weekenders leave early to beat all that traffic. However I'm also surprised it's not more crowded.
Water is stupid cold in July, anyone who knows that waits until end of August. And boardwalk is crazy insane hot during the day, anyone who knows that stays off of it until after sundown. So basically the people we do see don't know what the hell they are doing. ...tourists.

Also factor in majority of people are on the beach during the day. The boardwalk doesn’t start to get packed until 6-7pm.
Heatwave here on the east coast not helping either- it gets very hot on that boardwalk during the afternoon hrs.
If he was to record that same walk in the evening/night hrs/ that boardwalk would’ve been packed with people Been going to WW my whole life - heading there in a few weeks actually

One of my favorite beach’s is st Pete in Florida I have to say this looks nice clean & less crowded if I’m ever in the area I will check it out thanks
It's only less crowded because it's a Sunday after a holiday week. Go on any Friday or Saturday and there are literally thousands and thousands of people on the beach, from North wildwood all the way south to wildwood crest. Don't let this video fool you - it gets packed there during the summer

I attended a Christian retreat in Wildwood for many summers. Loved walking the beach. One day I logged 21 miles going back and forth.
This is my favorite vacation spot we will be there for 10 days next week , been going since I was a baby in 69

North Wildwood is where you decided to eat your pizza and down that way regular Wildwood is basically the middle of the boardwalk where all the rides are and activities and Wildwood crest is beyond those Wildwood sign with the beach balls and way down then and that’s the crest. And I would suggest if you ever come back and stay overnight Wildwood crest motels to stay in. They’re very, very pretty and drive-through at night when Everything is lit up. It’s very art Deco.

Champ is the bartender at the red parrot bar and lounge there. Been going there for years. Great times - great place to hang and have some beers - cocktails.

First time in New Jersey. Have a great cool down AK. I have been to New Jersey several times.
Technically a seagull would be a type of Albatross, those aren’t seagulls. Those birds are Terns which are related to Albatross but are smaller and stick closer to shore. You can tell by how they are colored as albatross are stark white, while terns can vary greatly from darks to lights. I’ve encountered both, along with sandpipers and other sea birds.

Wildwood is known for their big wide beaches - always been like that. North wildwood on the other hand has lost much of their beach to beach erosion throughout the years and needs beach replenishment every offseason. Wildwood crest (south of wildwood) has the best beach imo of the whole island
The beach is that deep because the popularity of that shore town. Gets very crowded. You should have visited the next town over Cape May. It’s a stunning town and written up in every travel magazine. From Cape May you can take a ferry over to the gorgeous town of Rohoboth and its beaches in Delaware. President Biden has a house there.

I was happy to see there is a taxi. It looks like it’s a huge beach that would take all day to get to the water. I prefer the mountains in Montana.
"Why do they make the beach this wide?", the beach is the result of sand from all the other beaches north of there being washed down toward the cape. The more they erode, the more Wildwood grows. That large expanse where you are walking across before the water is usaully a giant lake at the start of the spring which they drain for months. Well maybe a bit north of where you are, the boardwalk end was usually a dry desert no man's land when I was a kid. Last time I was in Wildwood in 2000 the beach about a mile north of there was washed out so much it was maybe 200 feet from street to wave break.
Mister Softee’s headquarters are located in NJ. They used to have a few retail locations throughout South Jersey.
I took NJ Transit down there from NY a couple of times. The bus took 5 and half hours all said and done! They should run the train down there like they had many years ago.
