In my experience, putting OD before fuzz tightens up the sound, but as a result it starts to sound more like a distortion pedal than a fuzz. By contrast, putting drive after fuzz mimics running a fuzz into an already driven amp, and it smooths out the raspiness of the fuzz and makes it sound more what I think fuzz should sound like.
I would agree, and that's essentially what's happenng here--a fuzz pedal, an overdrive in front to shape it, and instead of a driven amp, i used that yellow overdrive pedal. It's just a somewhat odd combination with unconventional knob settings.
