I don’t think it’s trauma. It’s privilege, narcissism, grandiosity.
They don’t view women as people. They are angry that people they view as inferior dare to talk back or reject them.
And many of the followers are rejected by hot women, not women who they can realistically get. And instead of trying to be good people they pretend to be good people to trick women.
They think not hot women shouldn’t even exist, but they still don’t view hot women as people, they’re just objects to obtain.
They want status, they don’t care about women.
The least popular men feel entitled to the hottest women and get angry that these women have options and like attractive guys (shallow) or rich guys (gold diggers). They’re mad that the women they only value for looks don’t like them because they’re not hot or rich.

I want to add that after a lot of direct experience and research, I've come to understand the best way to prevent narcissistic abuse and to eradicate cultural norms which reward people who seek power over others, is to target and heal the roots of narcissistic behaviors and grandiosity (the power seeking reaction to being punished for showing weakness - it's a reaction born of the need for social survival) and the roots of privilege (no matter how I try to explain the relevant roots of privilege using a RUclips comment, I'm going to anger someone so I'll be brief: colonization, shame, and top-heavy selective denial, with internalized police state patterning, and severed from the groundedness of cultural practices or somatic health, under a system which requires constant payment to belong)
And that colonization - because basically all of us, including the privileged wyte folk, have descendants who were forcibly removed from their land, from their ancestors, from their stories, their healing cultural practices, and their wise and well elders - is trauma.
The way the United States (and many others) culturally handle raising boys and emotions - is traumatic.
The way we teach people not to share affection or non-sexual touch, or connect emotionally outside of romantic partnership - is traumatic.
Tldr; trauma + power = some bad stuff, narcissism being one of them.
I think a fast way to understand how trauma leads to narcissism and grandiosity would be to do a quick Google image search for Internal Family Systems (a shockingly effective framework discovered by Dr. Richard Swartz). It will show you a quick diagram of the characteristics of internal parts after traumatic experiences, and what their purpose is for survival.

The problem with Tate is not just his words - it’s the actions that follow these words. The actions that his followers will take and the actual harm that will be caused by those actions. Someone who teaches men that women aren’t equal human beings, that they’re objects, property, a trophy, teaches men that they don’t have to respect women, that they own women and can use and treat them however they like (cause they’re his object/ property). This is the mentality that causes husbands to k*ll their wives, when those wives want to leave them. This causes boyfriends to beat their girlfriends when they ‚misbehave‘, to be controlling and possessive and jealous and just overall not a good person. His words directly cause real harm. What he’s saying is not just ,words‘ and ,opinions‘. It’s real danger.

Tate can say whatever he wants in public, that’s free speech. However that doesn’t mean he can say whatever he wants on privately owned platforms. It’s their website and their rules.
Tate abuses his right to speak freely and now he's facing the consequences. I don't know why those advocates forget about that part.
Freedom of speech has to do with LAWS made by Congress, not forcing PRIVATE social media companies to tolerate people violating their rules. Mental health is not a joke and we should encourage everyone, including boys and men, to go seek help when they need it! It was reported through scans that his brain was all mushy and there were severe damages to the frontal lobes. 😞Our society doesn't tell people "Lets go get help." This is true. While I can't speak for women's social dynamics, I think men are less concerned with such radical sentiments. Not because they're ok with it, but because they don't want to do anything. I feel alpha male content is trying to normalize toxic behavior. As someone who was an actual victim of narcissism trauma from a previous relationship, I honestly am so concerned how many men look up to him. I am not saying he is a narcissist but he sounded a lot like my ex who would consistently gaslight me and make me think anytime there was a problem in the relationship or we would get into an argument, it was because of me and it was my fault. For the longest time I did think I was the problem which lead me to be "submissive" and keep on enabling my ex's behavior. I started to educate myself on behavior disorders and realize it was a one sided relationship. I worry not only about how males see his content but females because there was a time where I did think this was ok and it's not.
What is most annoying of these "alpha male" types is that they are no where as alpha as they like to think themselves as, because the real alpha males never need to use the words alpha male to describe themselves. Case in point... Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos.... Definitely, Jeff Bezos. Those four men never have to say the words, because through their actions and net worth speaks volumes for them. I still get goosebumps knowing the fact that Amazon started off as a local used-book store for people to resell old books, including coloring books, and now sells everything including motorcycles and is a multi-billion dollar corporation. That is extraordinary, and when you meet the guy face-to-face he is the most normal looking guy ever with such a soft spoken voice with a sincere demeanor. Men like Andrew Tates would mistaken that billionaire for a beta-male. Yet most corporate owning guys are like that. Through my major in business management, I came across some economists and even two Wall Street executives... and you wouldn't think they were in those fields based on how calm and humble they are. They are at the top of their respected fields and yet they never have to boast about being bosses of the boss. These so-called "alpha male" types in the internet ought to take notes from the real alpha males.

Let's be honest. Those guys are the way that they are because their egos are really that fragile. When your fiance joined the conversation, it was so enlightening to hear what a healthy, well-rounded man had to say on this subject. I want to work with men and women who feel stuck in these social constraints and who are unable to function in a healthy relationship. Thanks so much for your take on this!
I'm hoping to get to a place soon to go back to school for this too. After 15 years of several different kinds of trauma frameworks, I hope (if you haven't come across them already) you will look into EMDR, somatic experience work, Internal Family Systems (Dr. Richard Schwartz) and also basically any of Gabor Mate's work - especially his ideas on developmental disruption from early childhood stress and trauma. His book on ADHD explores this in depth and was life changing for me.
I think your fiance provided some great points, especially how it's brave to love someone. It really puts into perspective how afraid these men are to be hurt.

I think the best way to describe what your groom meant by truly being a man is Dignity. My partner, my life partner, is the manliest man I've ever had a relationship with, but rather than toxic masculinity, he knows who and what he is and he's not afraid that he's going to lose his status of being a manly man if he, say, compliments my pretty nails when I've just painted them, or mentions liking a color palette when it has pinks and purples and "girly" colors. He is comfortable with himself. Andrew Tate feels uncomfortable, like he's so not-alpha to the point where he had to push a narrative and lieto the point of believing that of himself just to make him feel better.

His persona is fake. He puts on this aggressive and ""gigachad alpha male"" personality because it draws attention to him. I was fine with that, as long as he isn't actually practicing his beliefs then it's fine, right? In theory yes, but based on how many people have come out and said that he IS like that, whether in passing or directly, and how many people have also said the he is, in fact, abusive made me realize that he actually is an a-hole and not just trolling for internet clout and likes.
All of my family likes and supports him which is why I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt and had that thought process.
