  • It was one of those days where the wind speed was just right, the direction was just right. We had a blast. I tested out my selfie stick flying abilities and didn't really like it. Went back in and landed, then got low with David Hatfield. We were almost touching the beach. Somehow I managed to get back up. David, was just a few seconds late to heading back to the big ridge to get back up. He landed at the beach. It was a great day of flying. Enjoy.

    Just a question: Why do you pull the breaks that much before taking off and whílst taking off? I was tought that if you pull too much, the wing collapses or stays behind you... Thanks buddy

    • @paraglidingtalk
      @paraglidingtalk  2 года назад

      Normally when you’re launching do you want to have some brake pressure so that the wing is pressurized. It is a fine balance. There is a little tiny bit of Lyft when you have enough ground speed. I like to use a little break pressure so that I can feel if my wing is collapsing or if I have a tuck.

    • @moritzleidler
      @moritzleidler 2 года назад

      @@paraglidingtalk cheers pal, got it and thank you for extra explanation! I always thought omce deciding to taking of, leave the breaks almost open, so just break pressure so to say. But yeah, makes sense in extremely windy conditions. Wing could over shoot easier so therefore you have a bit of more hold on the brakes. Regards

      It’s really not that bad. I enjoy the hike every once in a while. But not on days when it is really good. It’s hard to watch everyone flying around when you are on the ground.
