This is what I’m talking about! Finally someone who’s honest about trends that it’s not for everyone, skinny jeans being outdated and this updated look. Some trends does not look good on everyone especially if it concerns their body shape. Been seeing a fashion influencer pushing the loose top and baggy pants on chunky short women. It does not look good on me, I look like a potato wearing a sack honestly. Thank you for this video, I think I will try to incorporate these kind of pants to my wardrobe now ❤️
Wide leg jeans are definitely my faves, right now. 💛 Don't get me wrong. I'll still rock a boot cut every now and then. 😁 You are so right. Selecting the rise that is flattering is of the utmost importance. That alone can make or break a look. 🙌🏼 Tfs 🌿🌻🌿
I agree with some of your ideas but I do think think there are some wide leg jeans that you can roll and shoe choice is really important to pull off the look.
We used to wear wide leg pants in the '70's. Just find some photos taken around that time. I do remember crop tops and crop jackets, so the outfit doesn't look bottom heavy. Puffy or bigger flowy sleeves too.
I find hip to waist length to be most flattering for 3rd layers with a more fitted top. I have tried them with longer 3rd layers and it just looks too baggy and oversized, in my opinion, which makes me look huge and I’m never going for that.😉🌻
Good video. I’ve just bought my first pair of wide leg dark denims and am trying to think about how to wear them. I knew a more fitted silhouette but need to think which tops I’ll favour. Thank you 😊
I love my lightly distressed jeans..(71 years old here). They look great with an off white shirt and blazer. It creates a nice juxtaposition the gives a cool edgy vibe. At only 4’9”, pants are often a bit of a challenge for me; however, a rolled up cuff and a pair of flats or Doc Marten’s, gives me the perfect fit and balance that gives my outfit a well executed look! As for wide leg pants…I love wearing them a bit cropped, particularly in the warmer months. They give off a nice relaxed vibe.
Hahaha! Great video. I agree about the low rise jeans/pants thing. Even when I wore a 2 I hated that look on most people, including me.I had seen way too many thongs peeking out the top when everybody wore them.I don't like distressing, never have, never will. Back in the day if your jeans had holes they were turned into shorts. Ripped jeans were always tacky looking and I would never, could never wear them with any self respect. I like a good boot cut or a mini flare works on my short 60 year old frame in a mid to high rise(not super high).
I've found that rather than "high/mid/low" that to find your comfort rise in inches. Each manufacturer seems to have a different idea of what constitutes what. I (as a short Waisted girl) find that just below belly button is my happy place. So a 9" Rise is my sweet spot
Thnx for the video Liz❤.. Will the wide leg pants/jeans look good on women with Lil wider hips n protruding belly or fupa? 🤔.. Stay Blessed Stay Happy Always 🥰😘🤗🧚♀️🦄🌈🧿
I think wide leg is the most forgiving cut. But like all denim you have to find YOUR perfect pair and the search can take a while. Try in as many as you can and don’t settle. You’ll find the right ones.🌻
Loved your video!! Just a suggestion… I think your hair would look so good it you trimmed it to shoulder length ( like a bob) and trimmed off the thin pieces. Your face is perfect for a bob.
That happens when the pants are too big. Usually I’ll pass on this style. It fits your waist but then it’s too big or hanging…try the size down or a lower rise, or pass completely and try a different style/fit/brand. Hope that helps!😉🌻
Great tips ! I only wear jeans without holes too . Holes look bad to me . Im 5 '8 also . I like it that we are the same height. I get a better idea on what will look good on me also. Thanks for the looks ❤.
Be careful when making decisions based on similar heights, people can be the same height and have different proportions. Long torso and short torso can result in different leg lengths.
Perfect,je viens de recevoir un jean’s wilde legs et je ne savais pas du tout comment le porter et quelle longueur, now i know ,great thanks from France❤❤❤❤❤
@StylishandGrateful oh ok! wasn't expecting a reply. Thanks. So I'm also 5' 8", so I now have a goal and am inspired to lose 25 pounds! You look fantastic 😍
I just bought a brown wide leg colored denim. The width is very large to me. I keep going back and forth on if I can rock them?? I'm 5'3". Just not sure. I Love to wear out of the box things I don't usually wear. I'm also 62, So I don't want to look like I'm desperately tryi g to hard. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I Loved this video. Thank You 😊
I think brown is very on trend for fall and the wide leg denim sometimes gives the look of a trouser. If it isn’t embellished they should be easy to dress up or down. Play around with it one day and try a few different looks. It’s fun to experiment and you need to, to find your perfect personal style. 💕😊
I'm 5'3 and 65. I love wide leg jeans/pants! I like to wear my jeans with clogs, boots, or heels. I wear them with longer sweaters that somewhat cover my derriere or blazers. I like to wear long scarves to elongate my torso.
Thanks Liz. I just purchased some wide leg jeans that are a trouser style from Abercrombie and Fitch. These were great tips from you for styling them. Mine are very very long so I think I'm going to have to exchange them for a regular length instead of the tall that I have now. Even with my tallest heels they drag on the floor. But I do love them. They remind me of the 70s and the 90's style that I loved so much. Ty again.
I love the A&F denim my straight leg 90s jeans from there always get compliments. I’ve noticed that issue as well Mary 🤔 I used to ALWAYS need to order long but now regular is long enough at some stores. I’ll be working on more styling videos over the next few weeks 💕🍁
The best - Levi's Ribcage very high rise wide leg, floor length - amazing. Look high style in Nov 2023. Got in black. So many compliments. Wore them for thanksgiving with a fitter mock neck and vest with a belt.
I get the idea these are getting out of style, get them while available. The newer ones are way less than the ones 2-3 years ago, I see the same with Lee/Wrangler screwing up their Stella/Drew and WorldWideLeg lines.
Great video No low rise jean, no crop , no tight skinny jeans, distressing jeans not classy, oversized clothes not, yes classic high rise clean straight leg always. Thank you best wishes to all 💐
Lol, I'm definitely distressed about the distressed look infestation in the stores. So many nice pairs I've had to pass on because of the stupid rips. People can rip their own! 😆
Great video - thanks for sharing ‼️ I agree with all of your suggestions 😊 I can’t stand the distressed torn jeans look and have never bought a pair - I think they look ugly and sloppy and hope that they will soon go out of style 🤞🤞🤞😊😊😊😊
I don't understand how some bloggers like trinny and others love a cropped wide leg and some like you don't, it really doesn't help someone like me who's not sure what style to wear.
Well style is all personal. So it’s best to take what you like from lots of people to try out…and then keep what actually works best for you personally and keep building on that.😊💕 thank you for watching and commenting 🌻
Where what makes you feel good. I am 5'2" and wore cropped wide leg jeans with a heeled boots and cropped jacket and I felt great! Find a channel that encourages you to find your style. I appreciate listening because they're tips but remember, they're not rules. Try things and go with what makes you feel confident. 😉
Thanks, good tips, I was spot on myself already apparantly. I missed some showing off combo's yourself, not that you should show the don'ts yourself off course. Tip from my side, I adore Lee Stella/Drew, but I found some have weird fabric blends. I only get the 100% cotton of cotton/hemp ones. Denim with spandex or lycocell looks very tacky, even more on wide leg models, because the dyeing and flow of the fabric is ruined.
Most of your DONT'S are actually DO'S 😆 While the puddle jean can be a bit of a challenge to wear in everyday life, it can be a fun, relaxed, and fashion forward look in the right setting. I own a couple of pairs but only wear them to indoor events with a kitten heel. Let's touch on distressing, well placed, it too can add a youthful lift to an outfit. There is no age limit on these trends. Wide leg jeans are so fun in any wash or style.
Low rise jeans are made for people who are short waisted. Not everybody has a long torso! I can't stand high rise jeans because they end up under my boobs because I'm short waisted. Someone who's short doesn't want wear high waisted pants that makes you look shorter also. That's why they make different cuts in jeans in the first place.
I am short waisted and mid rise fit me as if they were high rise. And I agree with the influencer about low rise jeans…not flattering on most people. No matter how petite you are, bending over shows a plumber’s crack that is never a good look. But you do you.
I do like a little distressed, and maybe you dint like, but for a lot its nice. Everyone has a different taste. Some of your jeans I dont like, they look a bit messy and time to get washed, but its personal. You have to own the style, and make it your own and enjoy.
You may not actually have a short torso, but a short rise, as you indicate. The torso measures from your shoulder to your natural waist. Rise measures from your natural waist to your crotch. It’s important to know these proportions. I am 5’2” and I do have a short torso but can wear a high rise jean. Just bought a pair of high rise wide leg jeans from old navy and I love the look. In my opinion wide leg jeans look better with open toe heels/sandals & a few tennis shoes. Closed toe heels/sandals don’t look nice with wide leg jeans; for the most part. There are some instances where it looks nice.
I am tall and thin but I think and baggy with baggy or everything oversized just looks sloppy on me. It doesn't do anything for anyone's figure, I look like I have no figure at all.
I love all your suggestions, except I do like a little distressing in my jeans! Just a small hole in the knee or pocket and fray at the bottom hems. Great idea for a sweater tank just skimming the tummy!
Thank you!🌻 yea I’m surprised I didn’t get more push back on that one, haha. I was expecting it. It’s still very popular and you should always wear what you love regardless. Thank you for watching and commenting😊🌷
You should only wear what looks good on you. Not oh this is not in style you don't were this anymore.its a no no I always dress the way I like very out of the box and I do get a lot of compliments. I'm a fashion lover my way 😊
I love the oversized baggy look. Louis Rubi is an excellent choice and their clothes fit every body size. It’s inclusive and I love that. You know what they say about opinions….in my world of fashion there are no rules and I enjoy that. If limiting yourself is your thing then watch this video.
That is true. Everyone needs to get a safe length…especially as we age. I do have to lift my palazzo pants like a dress when going up stairs. But I am used to that since I also wear long maxi dresses regularly. 😊
I think the cropped wide leg looks great on a lot of people. And the screenshot of the lady in the purple shirt looks great!

I’m 5’2 and can wear cropped wide leg pants in a flowy fabric- it makes a huge difference. One of my pairs looks denim
Thanks a lot. I have just one question, what about wearing a coat, what is the best length? I would like to wear it also during winter time
I find hip to waist length to be most flattering for 3rd layers with a more fitted top. I have tried them with longer 3rd layers and it just looks too baggy and oversized, in my opinion, which makes me look huge and I’m never going for that.😉🌻

Oh yes, love mid rise with a flowy front tuck! 😍 Depending on the manufacturer, I have to buy low rise so it fits me like mid rise. 😅
