I just got the kapex and I am glad you posted this. I'm on the fence about building my own bench or buying the MFT kapex and doing what you just did. I'd love to incorporate the sawhelper jig fence and use their stop block which is really nice. that will allow me to still have a wooden support with alum backfence/stop.
Great video, I have the aluminium side wings but I think that yours are a better design as the Festool wings can swing out of line with the back fence on the Kapex. Also the support legs referencing back to the Kapex table reduce the amount of levelling needed if the floor is uneven each side of the Kapex stand. I am going to make my own copy of your stand Dave. Proper job 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing a great idea.
Other than for smaller storage, any reason you didn't put a taller fence upright on the extensions? To provide the same support as the one on the Kapex itself? As others have mentioned, that's a handy place to clamp a stop block or have a ruler along the top edge. Still, very clever solution, thanks for posting it.
Dave, what was the length of the home-made wood extensions that you demo in this video (Festool MFT/3 Kapex Stand)? Just the wood part. The dimensions of the other wood parts that make up the extensions would also be helpful.
@df122 I just countersunk the heads of the screws in the top and used washers and nuts on the bottom. Send me your email and ill take some pics of the mounting area.

That is excellent. And a very good video. You could stick some measure tape to your fences with a stopper from repeat cuts may take a bit of tweaking.
Rockler sells a tape one could stick to the fence.
that has to be the sweetest stand on the planet. NICE!
You Sir are a genius! 👍 Love your channel, keep up the great work
GREAT. I just ordered the kapex saw and the exact table. Have you posted the measurements for the extension wings?
