Nice, I just set up my Festool Kapex UG Stand and this was a nice addition to the manual and other videos I just watched.

Another great video Greg. I remembered you demoing that last February. Glad you finally got the video done for reminding me about using the latch correctly.

Greg, just got back from a few weeks in Australia. This is the first Festool Video in my new video list. It's another winner! Simple. Concise. Direct. Your hallmark and it's consistent with Festool's. Well done.

I put a velcro belt strap on mine so that it can't come out of the plastic holders on the base

How do you set up the measurement function on the stand??

Greg, great video on the finer points of the setup. Having just bought my stand, I was surprised how difficult it was to mount the two black brackets (that attach the saw to the stand) to the saw. There's not much room to feed the nuts to the four bolts from underneath. In retrospect I suppose I could have flipped the saw onto its back and exposed the bottom of the "honeycomb" base, but I wasn't sure if that was safe for the saw. What are your thoughts?

Great video. Does anyone know where we could purchase the extension legs carrying case as shown in the video? Thanks

You need a few more sustained which are a pain in the ass especially the originals

This Workshop looks like a Festool Shop but there are many other good tools on the Market. Makita, Hilti, Mafell, Bosch usw.

So what Mafell or Bosch product is available that can cut as accurate as the Festool mitre saw set up?

Its a good saw but the set-up is too complicated. The guiderails are too narrow and flimsy, try and cut a 300mm hollow soffit on it and you will understand. Poor design from Festool and need a simple sturdy set-up for a great saw. Better to have a three Festool tables and a number 1 systainer box on either end, job done.

$900 for this stand, Festool has you fooled

What is the alternative for cabinetmaking and fitting?
You could use a table saw but the only table saws worth taking to site are far more expensive that the Festool set up.

Nobody on the assembly line of the Chinese brand saws and stands can afford your rent or mortgage payment.... Festool employees can because Festool costs what all properly engineered tools should. The other crap is simply underpriced in a false economy.

      Kermit
And that is, in a nutshell, the big problem of globalization! We let workers in other countries work for a much lower wage (O.K. they will have lower rent and living costs) so that may even be fair wage in their country. But then we import their goods into our high price economy, where it wipes out our own products, that have „the right price“ for our economy.
That could only be corrected by import taxes, leveling out the different cost of production. But we don‘t do that, we want to get a „bargain“. Not realizing that the much higher price for that is that we lose our jobs and the basis for our livelihood!

Why are Festool Manuals and assembly videos always so lame, no verbal assembly instructions. no parts list. just tiny tiny pictograms. Good Machines no actual assembly instructions. "Festool Live" at the speed of light. This Goes here, this goes here, this goes here, and this goes here", Waight,What? Worthless just figure it out and try not to break anything.

Ok, but no accrual assembly instructions and Festool's tiny pamphlets are horrible. Had to watch this and Festool Live which also was not definitive Plis the tiny Manusl is crap, but it is a bit helpful once I Downloaded the manual*.pdf and enlarged 200% -250% Really Underwhelming for a $2600.00 purchase. Plus accessories also purchased. Not even a "what's in the box"
