That squid with the eyes and the skeleton might be one of the creepiest things Lego has ever created
This was my first "big" set I saved up for myself, when I was a kid, so it has a special place in my heart. Great to see it reviewed here. I actually collected most of the theme (all but 2), and all the animals actually contained exclusive prints, which is pretty cool.
I wanted this so bad back in the day
That black piece in the end is actually from LEGO. I have two of them with an old Exo-Force set (7703) and the part number is 622126.
What kind of piece is that?
@@user-gz3qd3jn4r Goes onto technic axle, for decoration I guess.
I hate that that don’t really make sets like this any more :/
Sweet, another throwback review. These are some of my favorites!
7:40, don't worry, it'll just grow back,(this is also not an anatomically correct squid, it's missing the two long tentacles
MoonBro96 Same!
Never realized how interesting the eyes were.
This set has a lot of emotional value to me. My bubbe bought me this when I was 7 and I absolutely love it. I still have all the pieces I'm sure but it's completely destroyed. My crabs claw is broken but I put it in my moc always in honor of my grandma. Thank you so much for doing this review and letting me see it again, and showing off the play features so well. I should try to rebuild the squid, the interior is iconic.
Aaah, how I loved aqua raiders. They were my first LEGO theme
I remember this set! So much nostalgia... Best Present from Christmas 2007 ever. My favorite part of the whole set was posing the Giant Squid into grappling the submersible.
what a great set. great play value. makes me feel like a kid
That squid is just creepy. I want it.
its kinda sad that they don't do more thing like aqua raiders or atlantis :(
dat squid is probably the coolest build of 2007!
Coolest build ever
This was my first big set, the time sure does fly by. I remember building this Christmas day as a little kid.
This is the best squid LEGO has ever made
Agreed - it is pretty cool!
You reminded me I have this set in parts in a box behind my bed. I would not have remembered
That giant squid is truly amazing. The marbling in the eye is just beautiful!
They could have made the "squid" it's own set.
I had the entire theme minus the large sub, I always viewed the skeletons as the bad guys controlling the sea monsters
I had this when I was a kid...good memories
Wow I had this back in the day. Brings back memories thanks for uploading
Wow I got this set as a gift from my Uncle. It was the first set I got that had one of those rubber tipped missile launchers so I thought it was amazing. Great memories- thanks for reviewing older sets too!
Am I the only one that thinks the submarine fits perfectly with todays standards?
PandaProductions 54, I wouldn't say perfectly, but I do agree that it is a great sub, and still would be good in a modern set.
That squid build is absolutely amazing
But it has 8 tentacles
OMYGOD THIS WAS. Y FIRST LEGO SET I LOVED THIS THING. AQUA RAIDERS WAS MY BEGINNING
Yay! I love when hang Reviews sets from 2006-2008 because those sets are bey nostalgic for me. I loved aqua raiders as a kid!
If this set came out in 2019 it would have 50 additional pieces - all 1x1’s - and the price would be 169.99 😂
And they wouldn't have baseplates anymore... Now it's only plates or nothing :(
I wish I was into LEGO back when these sets were around.
I got this set back in 2007, still one of my favorite Lego sets I own
Andrew McCullough Same. This was the beginning of my Lego career
Thanks for reviewing older sets. :)
I love this set i got at when i was a kid for christmas. It remembers me of my childhood
*reminds*
One of my first LEGO sets, so many great memories from this.
Aqua Raiders and Mars Mission are my favorite non Star Wars legos ever
I love that set so much
Oooh, this brings me back! :D
I really want this now. The base isn't closed up and has many gaps but the interesting shapes and design makes up for it in my opinon.
And that squid! It must be one of the most creepy and dark things Lego has released. xD
I love it!
Aqua Raiders are the first LEGO sets I can remember getting
This was always one of my favorite sets as a kid
This was my first big Lego set and still one of my favorites.
That one black piece @12:42 is actually Lego, it was used in various exo-force sets in black and yellow
I would have loved to see the *SQUID* in the dark. I guess it looks awesome with the glow-in-the-dark parts inside of it behind the tinted part.
Nice review! The black round bushing kinda brick is actual lego! It was used in the 90's technic sets, it snaps over a technic pin connector! I remember it from a 90's technic fire engine for a catrol! I've got a few of those :) nothing of importance, just felt to let you know!
When LEGO made good sets for their price
It's almost like a Stan Lee cameo whenever I see a minifigure in a set with Jang's face.
You're the best Lego RUclipsr I've been subscribed for REALLY long, I think it was 500k or 600k but keep up the good work! 👍👍👍👌👌👌👏👏👏😄
Awesome! I used to have the entire Aqua Raiders collection at the time! The sea creatures included in these sets where quite amazing, but the giant squid was really one of my favorites! I wished I kept all of the sets... oh well. Hope you will review all of the Aqua Raiders sets in the near future, thanks Jang!
this is nostalgic, super nostalgic. Brings me back in time to my childhood like so many years ago. And Mars Raiders. Back when I was a kid those were my favorite Lego themes. Glad to see you got your hands on sets that I wanted and could never get ;c
I love watching the reviews of older sets. Keep up the great work!
Wow, blast from the past! This was my favorite lego set when I was younger. I was so happy when I received it for Christmas.
Im assuming this is going right into one of your underwater areas? I remember always wanting this set as a kid.... and the squid looks so much better than I imagined it would.
Always liked this based upon how it looked in the catalogs or in the store. But now I nust say that this set is awesome. My highlight are the squid and the little door build.
I got this back in 2007 and enjoyed it a lot. Like you said, Jang, it’s still a great set. 😀
Wow, that's a fantastic set. I especially like the Squid!
I've always wanted for you to review this set because of that Giant Squid, witch was my second favorite creature of this line, first would be the Tiger shark. Awesome review as always!
Love love love this set! About time we got to covering it!
I much prefer these over the Atlantis sets! My younger half brother and I had a few of these sets, this one especially. I distinctly remember his dad taking us to TRU to pick up a LEGO of any size to build while we waited at his work in the employee lounge, since out babysitter at the time were away and he couldn't find a backup in time. Since it was so big, we only built the minisub and minifigures, then shoved it all back into the box when he was taking us home. We built it at home, but over a year or two, we took it apart for pieces and tossed the rest of the pieces into a big LEGO bin. Good times. Maybe my nostalgia is the reason I prefer Aqua Raiders, but I really like the color scheme and theme. Fighting giant sea creatures while trying to explore and search the ocean floor for treasures? Personally, I prefer that to finding key stones to unlock some wacky portal or something.
I would love it if they renewed Aqua Raiders, although they should renew the Pirates theme soon as well. This time, with ships that look proper. They are always so lazy with ships, except with the Imperial Flag Ship (although they were still too lazy to add a lateen...)
Agreed - the color theme of this theme is great. Much like the older Aquazone sets which were equally great I think :-) Sounds like you had some good memories with this one! :-)
This, to me, is the ultimate in terms of that older "yellow" Aquazone/Divers/Deep Sea Mission/Aqua Raiders aesthetic. As much as I LOVE Atlantis, that has a more fantastical feel that makes it stand out from the crowd. In terms of this slightly more subdued, grounded look, I think Aqua raiders is pretty great.
No way!! You finally did it! I was hoping for this!! Thanks for reviewing it.
The piece you show at 12.40; isn't that one of these: www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=424&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 ? Fits on a Technic-pin.
Cool set 👍 I like the older gold coins they were actually shiney and gold painted. The new ones are flat and don't look as good
Cool, I had this one when I was a kid. Right now it's scattered into all it's little pieces
Boi i remember seeing this in the catalog back in 2007 and begging my mom for it
I loved this set as a kid! It was a great set! And helped me build an awesome clone wars base later on in life
I used to have this! I loved it, I also loved sharks so the Aqua Raiders shark was my favorite LEGO item I had at the time besides my X-Wing I had then.
Ahhhh! This is my favorite Lego theme of all time! I remember buying this set with all the money I had when I was 11 and being so proud. I own every set in the theme.
Me too with an old Shop at Home lego catalog. But the theme wasn't released in Europe, so it was no use...
Love this set. I love the giant squid in particular.
just a heads-up, that little black cylindrical piece that came extra to the set actually IS a lego piece, just an incredibly uncommon and obsolete one that's been out of production since 2006. Part number 424 (or 6221), it only came in seven different sets during its run.
Cool set. Feels like something of a spiritual successor to the Neptune Discovery Lab. It's not nearly as picturesque, but I like the more detailed interior it's packing. Gives the minifigs more space to do their actual work, research, and all that. The squid is awesome too.
I always wanted a this set when I was younger
I've bought this set 2 or 3 years ago from eBay, because it's a perfect set ! And Aquaraiders is a perfect theme, the others sets are perfect too. This theme is my third favorite one, after ExoForce and Galaxy Squad, and before Power Miners. Thank you for this review.
Ok design, great little details, great pieces for space and underwater themes!
A little sprucing up, and this would feel right at home on today’s shelves! Fantastically well done set...
This is a really cool looking set.
What an impressive set.
Nostalgia! I had this as a kid!
Had a few of the smaller sets from this theme, really liked them.
I never got this set, but it looks really good, very well designed and it looks cool! The mini figures are pretty common, but cool as well.
I remember really wanting this set so badly but i ended up getting the shark set instead. Still one of my favorite sets ever
As a kid who had this set, the squid really creeped me out so I kept it in a box most of the time, lol. My favorite part of this set is actually the submarine with the cargo bay because it fully closed up.
Everything here is awesome. You. Your channel. The set. Love from Europe
Can't wait to see the set in your city
Very nice review! It is a very interesting build.
I had this and loved it so much
I don't want that squid, I need it
This set is so cool! I remember wanting it so bad when it came out :)
I love JANGBRiCKS’ throwback reviews!
12:46 actually that is a lego piece, a set that I can 100% say those came from is the sentai fortress from exo-force, I believe you get a good amount of those pieces.
Isn't it an end of an old 1×2 tube which you can put technic axles through
I wasn't even born when this set came out!
This is my favorite set if all time!! It IS my childhood!
I still have this! Had my parents send it to me :)
I really loved this series
Ahh good old classic sets😊👍🏻
I like this set. Nice review, sir.
I remember seeing this set in the Lego catalog and wanting it really bad, when I was a kid.
I had this set I loved it so much down right my favorite set.
This reminds me of when I was younger and I really liked atlantis
Nothing like a little nostalgia from a set you use to have to kick off your day 😉🦑
One of my favorite themes, I was always sad I only had two sets.
I had this main set and the crab one too. Loved the builds honestly
The squid is AMAZING !
Yes, I love older set reviews, keep it up jang
