Wow Beth, great video. A biker since 1975, I was 17, it was the year the first GoldWing was introduced in the UK, I was totally smitten. Four years later in 1979 I bought my first GoldWing GL1000, felt like I was riding a horse, what a proud day. Earlier this year after almost 50 years a biker, and 45 years riding nothing but a GoldWing, from the first GL1000 to the latest GL1800, I decided to hang up my helmet. Watching your video bought back memories of when I bought my first GL1500, it was 18 months old though, and I was on tippy toes.
    Love and respect.

I had a GL1500 for 13 yrs and I can tell you the best thing you can do for yourself on that thing is a windshield vent and mirror wind wings. So much better wind cooling and warmer in winter. The front end does have a tendency to wobble when no hands and slowing thru 35-45 mph. New head bearings (All Balls brand) and a fork brace seems to cure it. I am always avail if you have any questions, there is a reason I am called TennWingman. LOL A tip to keep from dropping that big girl, dont hit that front brake when the handlebars are turned. Down she will go. LOL One day you will have to ride my 2012 GL1800 "Bullit" It is a Goldwing with a more sporty attitude!

Button sticking is something we just deal with on Goldwings. Some plastic safe contact cleaner is a good choice, sometimes the button sticks, sometimes the switch is dirty or gummed up, but contact cleaner just makes it work most of the time.

SOME LUBRICANTS ARE NOT PLASTIC SAFE & CAN CAUSE DISCOLORATION ON PLASTIC COMPONENTS .

Loved seeing this. I totalled my ST1300 this summer, cuttting a long tour short (I only got a scratch) and decided to look for and found a '94 GL1500 to haul my tent trailer next summer. Nice to see what my view of the cockpit will look like. Winter here in Newfoundland so I won't get a chance for even a shakedown ride until the end of April. I think Babes Ride Out is an awesome event.

All it takes is to ride a Gold Wing once and you’re hooked! There’s always room in your heart for more than one make and model of bike! You are a trooper, riding a Sportster 883 from Columbus, Ohio to Narrowsburg, New York and back again! That’s like trading a Nissan Sentra for a Lincoln Town car! Congratulations on the new ride and be safe. Get to a parking lot and practice your slow speed maneuvers. You will be amazed how well that beast handles. Great find!

If you spend a few hours doing cone work in a deserted parking lot it will greatly improve your slow maneuvering confidence! Turning around in an 18 foot wide space is the ultimate goal. Good luck, stay safe & ride on Beth !!

If you are having problems finding neutral one of two things are going on . Your clutch hydrolics have air in the system and need to be bleed as in bleeding your brakes . Or your clutch has many miles on it and needs replacing . Try bleeding the clutch first ...

For a second there in previous Gold Wing vid I thought you MIGHT have bought Gold Wing Doc's GL1500 that was up for sale a few weeks ago...same color with his exotic gadgets added & expert maintenance...Sticking switches seem to be a common issue with GWs...Keep spray can of plastic compatible electrical cleaner handy...>> Older Harley guy here (older = me & bikes in stable ...LOL!) but been considering a GL1500 or GL1800...MAYBE a Valkyre 1500 for no "tupperware" = easier access to components when they need repair/troubleshooting,etc.but trade off = like the idea of a reverse & better protection from the elements when riding conditions deteriorate...

On my second Goldwing. Had a 05 model, 30th Anniversary, now have a 2018. The 18 is more sport oriented, (yes it used that word, if one has skill one can hustle pretty quickly on it) less weight, but way too many electronics. Like a new car, meaning more electronic stuff to go wrong. Still like it ok and it offers a better ride overall for my style of riding. A bit less carry capacity but again not an issue for me. Enjoy the big bike!

Yes the 4way is a pain in the a$$ to unstick, you didn't say anything about having revise, you did fine it it I take. Do you know the maintenance history of the bike? If not look at chancing the timing belts (as they are age out has to mileage that counts, then fluids. A little love and you get many a happy mile. Enjoy 🙂

That was a great video, Triple B. The comfort level between the Gold Wing and the Sporty is night and day. I think you should turn the Sporster into a"Bobber". What say you?

As an old Trucker Babe, You definitely have to watch those trucks, There isn't very many Professional Truckers out there anymore, Way too many that hasn't had the correct training,
I can tell by watching you ride that you know alot about defensive driving, You do a great job, Loved you're video
    Stay safe Girlfriend.

Thank you!! I very much appreciate the love and YES I am super defensive while riding. Especially around the truckers. I should use the CB radio on the goldwing and start chatting with them 😅🤣

The gl1500 with air in rear shock set at 10 to 15 lbs is one of the lowest seat height bikes around. I ride one and have short legs can't make them grow, with practice it will U turn in 16 ft has to be the most comfortable rides around have put 6 to 700 miles a day on it many times, I'm almost 75 years old!
