The OVP also clarified that her departure was duly approved by the Office of the President.

If you're a politician anywhere you have to make personal sacrifices first for your countrymen especially during calamities. She's the opposite of VP Leni even though PBBM doesn't do what her Dad did to VP Leni (insulting and getting rid of her) while being a VP of RP. I hope she doesn't think of running as President later coz it would be catastrophic for Philippines to have a leader who doesn't realize that her country has so much problems and issues to face and solve, and you have to be available 24/7 at all times (even VP as well). We need good leadership like PBBM in Malacanan Palace and on the ground as well at all times (to oversee the damages created by Carina). He does an outstanding job despite presence of detractors around him (i.e. Duterte and cronies) during his term.
