Ive been looking allll over for a video like this. I just got a Sc106.4 that i want yo drive in loose dirt...but i cant find any information or videos on the lay back. I want to be able to fully enclosey spur and pinion. Thank you
@@trevorfurlotte I want to run anything that fully enclosed my spur and pinion. I don't want to damage if rocks or debris get inside. Thank you again for the information 🙏
I wonder why they don't make a 4 gear laydown. Maximum mid-motorness with maximum inertial traction. Also, really sad that the standup in general, and especially the 4-gear is discontinued. For bashers, the rear engine stuff just understeers and wheelies too much, so it's nice to have something that balances better, but obviously compactness is also needed and nobody wants to lose accelerative traction, so a 4 gear standup (or a 4 gear anything mid motor) is kinda the best solution for us.
Fortunately I was able to get an aftermarket substitute for the 91794 motor plate from JConcepts. It is their honeycomb plate. Now I can use the gear cover. THANK YOU SO MUCH JCONCEPTS!
@@trevorfurlotte I got my B6.1DL so that I could say that I got a world champion car from the company that created the most world champion cars. However, there are some issues with discontinued parts.
I have a b4,2d that i want to put a 3 gear stand up on can you tell me what parts i might need dont want to buy xtra f i dont have tp. im liking the video.
@phoneuser3569 Amen! If treated clay was all that was available, I'd bail altogether. Carpet however for weekends in the winter is okish. Clean and consistent. I like that. I especially like that a set of tires can last me a whole season.
That stock laydown transmission is so stupid! There is no gear cover for it! The gears are exposed - in an off road vehicle! Trying to design a working gear cover for it with my 3D printer was a nightmare! 13 failures! Even Spencer Rivkin used the standup transmission upgrade with the gear cover in his world championship winning B6.1DL! The classic RC10 had a gear cover! This exposed transmission design is so stupid! Why would Team Associated do something so stupid???!!!
Thank you! I stumbled through my first kit build and the trans section of the manual was confusing. Great vids 🖒
Thanks
Great video keep them coming
gracias, buen trabajo.

Great video trevor
Thanks!
Hello I'm wondering if you can please PM me about the 4 gear stand-up b6 transmission
Where can I find a 3 gear stand up for my T6.2 stadium truck!
Try Amainhobbies.com
Is the gear ratio different on the laydown vs the layback since it uses a bigger idler gear?
I don't think so but to be sure check the manuals on AEs website
I have a question. I have B6D 3 gear stand up configuration. Can I use gear diff of 6.1 and 6 .2 on it? ASSOCIATED 91786
Yes
Is the 3 gear standup also discontinued? The motor plate is out of stock everywhere and Associated's website says it's discontinued.
Unfortunately it has been recently discontinued as well.

@@perfectsplit5515 i just received two of the AE FT carbon fiber motor plates. I'm installing a 3 Gear standup in my B6.3D as I type this.

Great info. Is there a Lay "down", Lay "back", "Stand-up". Im still confused but thanks for trying.
Yes. There's a laydown, layback, 3 and 4 gear standup gearboxes.

You have a B4.2D?
Email me, trevorfurlotte@gmail.com
Your motor plates appear to be mounted on the opposite side
Correct
Is your camera settings "image mirror"? Edit. NEVERMIND
Trying to fix that
I hate carpet and clay tracks and will never get back into the hobby unless there are "real" offroad tracks locally.

The stock laydown was designed for carpet not offroad. So, that is why there is no gear cover.
@@belt1974123 And the “D” in B6.1DL is “supposed” to stand for Dirt! What the hell???!!!
