Ohh wonderful! A highly reliable and very robust aircraft. Great that there are still some legendary Douglas DC-3s flying around.

Interesting, isn't it, that nearly all modern airliners today closely resemble this Douglas bird in shape, profile and general appearance? ... Beautiful!

Flying a DC3 and being paid what a dream job !
I'm new to this channel and first of all : thanks for sharing all those dreaming images and stories !
But whatever why spotters add music to there video, for me engine and prop sounds or ATC are always the best music even with a bad mic and high wind. Anyway this is just my opinion. Thank you and keep going !

Glad you enjoy the video Pierre... No worries, the program is close to 4hrs long and there is no music on it... you will hear all the airplane sounds ;)

Algunas veces los sentimientos vibran juntos. A mí me encantó que superada la mitad del video, se agregara una banda musical acorde a la época del DC3 acompañando tan bellas imágenes.

I assume it is the sandbar destination referenced in the narrative in the video. But that water was really splashing up high, but hopefully the engines were high enough the front escaped the water. Looked pretty iffy, though. How much of a threat of throwing up stones and screwing up an engine?

    • @andrewleung5049
      @andrewleung5049 9 лет назад +1

HeartlandTuber DC3s are able take flaks and flying shrapnel from enemy's AA guns and survive to land the aircraft. If they can take incendiary or fragmentation bullets, they can easily take stones

I remember flying in those bad boys from Minneapolis to Wausau WI in the 70's and 80's on North Central Airlines - later to become Republic airlines. Scary but fun rides. Good to see they are still in operation.

WW2 planes has advantages in short take off and landing .
That is different in landing gears positioning .
WW2 planes has steering wheels are low levels . That is
Advance to main wings angle of attacks are high psition in
Take off and Landing . That can get too short run way .
Disadvantage is unstable to take off and landing in lift start point .
Today planes are landing gears linear that isWW2 planes
short take off and Landing effect is lost . That is my view of
Landing gear position changing effect .
