Funny Ojibwa was assigned to the First Canadian Submarine Squadron on 22 April 1966, my birthday. My mom met my step dad when I was 8, he was a Submariner on the Ojibwa :).
I spent a lot of time going on that sub and her sister's growing up, if he had to drop in at work for something he would take me along.

Dad would take me and school buddies down to see her on my birthday, He commanded her around the same time you mention. At the time he was Royal navy and had brought her over to Canada, He joined the RCN soon after.

Was awesome to see it up close this past weekend. Make sure you stop by Big Joe's Q. You can get great brisket while looking at this neat sub.

What a fantastic video, I am working on one myself and been searching for added information on RUclips and found this one. I love all the information you shared. I was fortunate to have a tour in 2018 although I didnt take anything but pictures. as they allowed only certain areas. I will be sure to include your link when I upload my video for followers to check.
Fantastic job thank you for sharing.

What an impressive and so magnificent type of Navy submarine, it's so unfortunate that all of this type of vessel was either already scrap, or it was turned into a naval museum. And not a single one has remained a still sea worthy vessel.

may look sea worthy but a submarine is like a space craft stuff has to work and making it work is uber expensive and there comes a time to let the lady rest. Spent 3 years on her

This class of sub were some of the best deisl subs in the world. They would often penatrate US Carrier Battle groups during NATO excersises.

Any further information on the law suit and bankruptcy of the Ojibwa project? The business plan never came close to being accurate about how many people would visit.

That's funny they named a submarine after my tribe, yet back then the government didn't like natives, guess they just liked the names?

All that money spent and they couldn't even give it a decent paint job and they charge way to much for the tour I have heard more bad complaints than good . It's become a real eye sore for the town people that are stuck seeing it daily. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
