So refreshing, - no gratuitous violence, sex , profanities, very enjoyable and so nice that there are still good clean reading around, and that a book does not have to have all the "dark" things in life in it to be a great story
Thank you so much Michelle (you have a French name!) :) Be sure to check out Sally Britton's channel too. Her books are all clean and uplifting and set in the Regency period.
I know I've said this before on another book, but I absolutely love you as an author! I even recommended you to somebody. It's so witty, fun, clean, not too much drama... Thank you! I love to escape daily. I listen to your books all day while I'm designing products for people to be able to walk again!
Very well written & very heartwarming, with perfect characters & storyline. Stevie Zimmerman’s narration was perfect, she brings life to every character. Many thanks xx
I am actually impressed, finding a good historical romance that's not cookie cutter is hard work. This is a very entertaining, well written book. Thank you for sharing.❤
Your books are truly sweet, engaging and enlightening, while your characters are multifaceted and deeper than many in this genre. The stories are always interesting with unexpected twists and a glimpse into history. Across the board, you are one of my favorite authors. Even the drama and disagreements are handled without language becoming crude. My imagination on the next step is far better than the gratuitously explicit sex found in many novels. Thank you very much for sharing your talent with me and others!
I have to say it has been years since i have read such wonderful stories with such great characters … i have listened to five so far and have enjoyed each one… Stevie Zimmerman has such a wonderful voice and diction that the story is complimented by the narration as much as the narration is complimented by the story… well done!!! Love and hugs
I really enjoyed this! Good and entertaining without the sometimes absurd drama of other novels of this genre. The narration was very well done! Thanks much 😊
I’ve begun quite backwards loving “Book Three” 1st! These characters must continue, all the happiness’s serve so many possibilities or shall I say “hold sheer joy” as Philli-pa would say to Jack, Lucius & Salena. Oh! Susan & Matthew must show theirs as well w/ the incredible family.
I wasn't sure about a parliment story, but you turned it into a family drama with good friends and a bad courtship and true love. An awesome story creation and a great narrator.
I have recently finished the inglewood book line by Sally britton up to the most recent book and its splendid to have found another audiobook channel!!😄
I was so thrilled with Philippa and George in book 1. They seemed to be the smartest crayons in the box. I am just starting here, and I cannot wait for Philippa to show silly Jack what he is missing in his definition of a worthy woman.
So far and away my favorite book of hers. Unlike the others I've read or listened to, it wasn't that same formulaic kind of Regency romance that gets really old by the time you've read or listened to eight of them. Within the first 10 pages or minutes you know exactly which two characters are going to end up with each other, and there is a repetitive and wearying amount will-he-won't-he or she, accompanied by endless self-talk, self-doubt and protestations. This book was nothing like that, which made it really enjoyable. Now the trick is to try to figure out which of the author's other books are less like the former and more like the latter.

Thank you for such a wonderful series! I love that it was clean! And it was so enjoyable!!! I love to read, but I have not had much time lately...this was a fantastic fix!!
I just want to say I messed up and listened to the #3 book first, then #1, followed by this #2. I have to say I believe you can listen to these in any order. Just like a movie flips back and forth between time. I wasn't lost at all. It was interesting having the knowledge of Goerges ending from the start. Well done. Are there more books in this series?
I'm glad you feel that way. It's true they are stand-alone books so can be read in any order. It's nice to read in order when possible. When you get to the Memorable Proposals series, the order is A Regrettable Proposal, A Faithful Proposal, and A Daring Proposal, if this helps.
@Jennie Goutet yes Thank you, they are next on my "must read" list. I'm currently listening to A Whimsical Notion. And I noticed book 2 comes out in Aug. Can't wait!
Thank you so much for listening. So, some of the books don't need an order because they are stand-alone: A Yorkshire Carol (Christmas) His Disinclined Bride An Amiable Foe And (upcoming on May 15th) A Sham Betrothal. This one is different. Set in 1774 in Paris. Otherwise, here is the order by the series: Clavering Chronicles: A Fall from Grace Philippa Holds Court The Sport of Matchmaking Memorable Proposals: A Regrettable Proposal A Faithful Proposal A Daring Proposal Daughters of the Gentry: A Whimsical Notion A Stroke of Good Fortune (coming this fall) A Presumptuous Hope And I hope that helps!
I know it’s not very Christian of me but I hope in this book Lady Harridon & ex Miss Woodsley have to kick rocks at how happy Celina is with Lord Clavering. 🤭🤭
As for Jack's dinner party, he should have invited his family. Unless he was in his own house. But in a family home, its not appropriate to ignore the other family members.
Jack was in a difficult situation because he legally had no control over his father's fortune. And he wasn't even the eldest son so he wasn't set to inherit. He was just the only one with sense and ambition, which made this powerlessness difficult for him.
If it has more than my usual audiobooks then it's something RUclips did and not me. As you probably already know, it wouldn't be worth it to have my audiobooks up on RUclips for free if there were no ads. I would otherwise have them only on paid platforms and libraries.
So far and away the BEST narrator I've ever had the pleasure to come across. It greatly increased the pleasure of listening to this wonderful story.

I missed this one and have read the 3rd book 2nd. :) I enjoyed all 3 books. Stevie is a remarkable narrator.

Cannot understand why Jack does not withold money from his father so that he cannot waste any more.

My husband just told me of a man who forced his daughter to marry a man she did not want to. It happened about 20 yrs ago. 😢😮
It still happens in other cultures unfortunately.

♥️♥️👌
I wish the narrator would not use that same gravely grating voice for men. It is jaring on nerves making it hard to focus on the excellent story.
-
I completely disagree and consider her very clever to make each character sound unique so that one knows who is speaking and there is no confusion.
